She only wore a sweater because I hadn’t thought about her needing a coat on my way out the door. “Can’t we g-go back to the c-car?” “You’ll survive.” Molly shifted her weight on the rusted dryer she perched on like a throne. “It’s not my problem your sister is taking her sweet time.” “I told you Rochelle is out of town.” I shrugged off my coat and draped it over Kat’s shoulders. We sat on an overturned bathtub in a junkyard of old appliances, mattresses, and discarded building materials on the western edge of town. “We should just let Kat go and get out of here before we get caught.” I wanted to drive her back to the house and drop her off before leaving town, but the others would never agree to that. “L
