Training and Wooing

“You must be a strong woman to be able to continue to live after losing your other half.”Zack said, and Kelly looked at him.

  Kelly was confused as to why he was smiling at her.

“I am looking forward to spending the eternity with you, mate.”

  Kelly gaped at Zack. She cannot believe it. Her second chance mate is not rejecting her and doesn’t think she’s a sloppy second but a strong woman.

“If you two are done with your cute adorable staring contest, please can we get this selection going?”Zab said.

“Kelly, please take a seat.”Calie said.

  Both Kelly and Zack looked at the princess.

“What?”

“We’re in a middle of recruitment Zack. You might have forgotten.”Zab said.

“Oh yeah, my bad.”Zack said scratching the back of his neck.

“Come now Kelly, take a seat.”Calie said, and it caught Zack’s attention.

“What? Why?”Zack asked Calie.

“She’s my recruit.”Calie said and Zack’s jaw almost hit the floor.

“R-Recruit?”

  Calie arched her eyebrow at Zack.

“Got a problem with that?”Calie asked.

“No, not at all.”Zack said, surprised that his new found mate is actually a recruit..

  Zack led Kelly towards the front of the room and offered her a seat. Kelly was still baffled at the events she didn’t even oppose on being an Elite recruit. Then Calie and Zab began discussing the process.

  Time flies and Zab began to assign the recruits to their trainers. When it was Kelly’s turn, Zack volunteered. Calie narrowed her eyes on the tiger shifter.

“No.”Calie said.

“But why?”Zack whined.

“You are her mate Zack. You won’t even dare to hurt her. How can you spar with her as if it’s between life and death? So I will be the one training her.”Calie said.

  Zack sighed and pouted.

  After the meeting Calie called Kelly back dismissing the pouting Zack. Once the two of them are alone in the room, Calie smiled at her.

“I’m happy that you found your second chance mate.”Calie said.

  Kelly sighed.

“I don’t know what to do. I’m scared of what’s going to happen. Will he accept me even if I am no longer a virgin? Will he accept my Julienne?”Kelly asked.

  Calie patted Kelly’s arm.

“You wouldn’t know if you wouldn’t get to know him. Zack is a good man, and he’s been patiently waiting for you. Give him a chance; give yourself a chance to a happy life.”Calie told her.    

“I guess you are right.”Kelly said.

“So are you ready for our training tomorrow? After a month of training you’ll be presented in front of the council and the Queen. Then they’ll decide if you are in or out and what group you are going to be assigned.”Calie told her.

    Kelly sighed.

“Am I even really qualified?”Kelly asked.

  Calie narrowed her eyes on Kelly.

“If you have doubts now, wait till I am done training you.”Calie said.

“Is it safe to assume that the training won’t be like the ones I am used to?”Kelly asked.

“Let’s just say you’ll be breaking your bones, get poisoned and a lot more. You’re going cry blood so put on your big girl panties.”

  Just as what Calie said, the next day she began training Kelly. It’s not just any kind of training but hardcore training. Every day, Calie would personally train Kelly in one of the castle’s basement. No one can enter that basement while they are training. Calie was a harsh trainer but she only wants Kelly to push herself. Calie knows she can become a great warrior that the council will be proud of.

  Calie first taught Kelly to strengthen her body and mind. She has to boost her immune system so that her body can withstand any poison such as wolfsbane and silver.

  Once Kelly managed to make past the poisons, her training with mixed martial arts and tactics followed. Something that Kelly enjoyed than the training with poisons, and Calie expected. She didn’t have a hard time training Kelly how to fight. She’s amazing at it, she’s agile and fast too.   

  Calie also trained Kelly with every weapon she know, will it be fire arms or blades. Bomb making and disarming was one of the additional lessons that Calie gave Kelly. And surprisingly, the girl has also talent in weapons, especially bombs. Something Calie haven’t seen before ever since she started commanding the Elites.

“You are good at this huh. And you’re telling me you are not even qualified? Please, you are more than qualified.”Calie said.

“I didn’t know I am capable of such things honestly. Maybe because when I found Jeff, he was against violence.”Kelly said.

“Did he at any chance know what you are?”Calie asked, and Kelly shrugged.

“I’m not really sure. I told him but he laughed at it, and that’s it. We don’t really have much time together.”Kelly answered.

  Every day after training, Zack would wait for Kelly and ask her for dinner, but Kelly always declines as she still felt shy about Zack. But Zack did not falter; he would still ask her out every night. Sometimes, he would bring take outs and give it to Kelly before she go home.

“So you’ll have something to eat when you get home. I also bought a few for Julienne.”Zack would tell Kelly after giving the food.

  Kelly couldn’t help but be smitten by Zack’s efforts.

‘Just go to dinner with him.’Kana would whine at Kelly’s mind.

‘Are you ready to accept him?’Kelly asked her wolf.

‘Girl, I already accepted him the moment I set my eyes on him. Did you see him? He’s gorgeous! And not to mention the abs! He’s so yummy!’ Kana squealed making Kelly wince.

‘So you’re after his body then.’ Kelly joked.

  Kana scoffed.

‘Don’t tell me you did not fantasize being under and top of Zack?’Kana teased, and it made Kelly blush.      

  Truth to what Kana said, Kelly would always dream of Zack. Not just a stroll in the park kind of dream but more of hot and erotic. She would also wonder how it would feel to have her mate mark her as his.

‘Your heat is coming and you know we’ll be needing him.’ Kana said.

  The next day after training, Kelly decided to ask Zack out to dinner but she didn’t see him. Not seeing him made her miss him and Kana was howling in her head wanting her mate. She looked around for him and she used his scent to find him.

  When she found him, he was in the palace garden. He was standing beside a table set for two with candle lights everywhere. The set up actually look romantic and Kelly cannot help but be swooned by such gesture.

“Hi. I figured if I cannot take you to dinner, I’d bring dinner to you.”Zack said smiling at Kelly.

  Kelly smiled.

“I was actually going to ask you to dinner this time.”Kelly said, and Zack’s smile stretched more that his face would’ve ripped in two.

“Really?”He asked.

“Yes really.”Kelly said, and Zack whisper yelled ‘YES’ as he felt really giddy.

  Then Zack approached Kelly and he led Kelly towards the table. He pulled a chair for her, and helped her sit. Zack couldn’t contain his happiness at the moment, that he had his smile plastered on his face.

  A few meters from the couple, behind the hedges were Calie and Alex. It was Alex who helped Zack set up the dinner date in the garden while Calie just wants to watch them.

“I’m glad Zack finally found his mate. And Kelly seems to be very lucky to find her second chance mate in Zack.”Alex said, and then he looked at his sister.

“Are you hoping to meet your second chance mate?”Alex asked Calie who remained silent.

“I rather focus on my son and my duties.”Calie said.
