Latest Crush
The biting December wind whipped at Sora's coat as she navigated the bustling town square, her hand firmly clasped around Mia's. Christmas lights twinkled from every storefront, casting a festive glow on the excited faces around them. A giant stage dominated the square, adorned with flashing lights and speakers that promised an earsplitting evening. Sora, a woman who preferred quiet evenings with a good book, felt a knot of anxiety tighten in her stomach. She had never been to a concert like this before, the sheer scale of it overwhelming her senses. "Are you sure about this, Mia?" Sora asked, her voice barely audible above the rising cacophony of sound checks and excited chatter. "It seems a bit… much." Mia, her eyes sparkling with anticipation, squeezed her mother's hand. "It'll be fun, Mom! You'll see! Besides," she added with a mischievous grin, "you wouldn't want to miss seeing Maxwell, would you?" Sora sighed. Maxwell. Mia's latest crush, the lead singer of the band 'Midnight Riot', was the sole reason they were braving this chaotic scene. Mia had been practically vibrating with excitement all week, her room plastered with posters of the band. Sora, ever the doting mother, couldn't deny her daughter this experience, even if it meant enduring a night of deafening music and flashing lights. As they joined the throng of people pressing towards the stage, the full force of the concert atmosphere hit Sora. The air throbbed with the heavy bass of the soundcheck, the ground vibrating beneath her feet. A wave of dizziness washed over her, and she instinctively turned to leave. This was too much. "Mom, where are you going?" Mia's alarmed voice stopped her in her tracks. "I… I just need some air," Sora stammered, her hand flying to her ear in a futile attempt to block out the noise. Mia, sensing her mother's distress, pulled her back towards the stage. "It's okay, Mom. Just breathe. It'll be fun, I promise. We'll get some hot chocolate, and you can watch the lights. It'll be like a big, noisy New party!" Sora, her head spinning, allowed herself to be dragged along. Closing her eyes, she focused on Mia's reassuring grip, trying to drown out the overwhelming noise and flashing lights. She hoped, for Mia's sake, that this night would be worth the sensory overload. Spotting their friends Henry and Emily waving near the stage, Mia pulled Sora towards them. "There they are!" she shouted over the din. "Come on, Mom!" As they reached their friends, Sora's stomach gave a warning rumble. The combination of nerves and the overwhelming environment was taking its toll. She needed to find a restroom, and fast. "Listen, you three," Sora said, her voice strained. "I need to use the restroom. Stay right here, okay? Don't wander off, especially you, Mia. This place is packed, and it's easy to get lost." With a final warning glance, Sora turned and pushed her way through the crowd, her senses reeling. She just hoped she could find her way back to the children before the concert started and the real chaos began. Before any of them could respond, Sora disappeared into the sea of people. But soon after arriving at the restroom, her eyes furrowed at the sight of the ‘Cleaning in Progress’ sign on the women's restroom door. Below the sign, a crumpled placard hung, which said to use the bathroom upstairs: a bathroom that seemed a bit too far for Sora to reach in her current state. The grumbling of her stomach intensified and she had a difficult time holding it in any longer. She looked sideways before she hurriedly went inside the men’s restroom. When she confirmed that there was no one inside, she locked the door and released all the impurities inside her stomach. ‘What the hell had she eaten this morning that her stomach ached like this? Oops!’ She gasped when a loud fart burst out, followed by the thing that was responsible for her stomach ache. Then, she heard the voices of men outside the door. “Why are you outside? It’s time for your performance,” asked one of the men. After about two minutes, she heard another man say, “Is the restroom not available?” Sora almost lost all the air out of her body, as her palm became cold. “Gosh, this is so embarrassing!” She thought silently. She immediately ended her ritual inside the restroom, fixed herself, and huckleberry went out. Outside, she saw a tall, young man, she felt a bolt of lightning strike her body, his impact on her was so strong that she stared at him with her glittering eyes. Sora was still out of her mind, while she continued staring at the man, with eyes full of admiration. He was so handsome in his attite and his face was perfect, just fitting. His lips were red and looked very kissable, while the nose was perfectly curved and pointed, his eyes -she could almost melt in his deep gaze. “Are you okay?” The man asked when he noticed that the woman just stared at him like he was a piece of meat. Sora snapped back to her senses when she saw the young man entering the room. She immediately said, “Wait, don’t go inside yet!” But it was too late since he was already inside. Sora’s mouth twitched, seeing the young man hurriedly coming out, with his hand covering his nose. Sora smiled at him timidly and said, “I was about to stop you because the smell was surely still there. I am sorry. I had an unexpected stomach ache.” She was too embarrassed saying those words, so she slightly bowed her head, to hide her shame. What had she done! And with that, Sora hurriedly scurried away, leaving the room’s suffocating atmosphere. Maxwell shook his head while watching the woman running away, he went back to the restroom despite the smell as he badly needed to urinate. “We have been waiting for you, Oliver and Williams are on the stage.”
