10. Estrid

Felicity POV:

This was too much my head was pounding I couldn’t comprehend what Kilian was telling me. I was not a wolf; I didn’t possess a wolf. I am a Daughter and the next Mother. I have trained my whole life to protect and defend my sisters. This fucker was using dark magic and I didn’t care whether he was an Alpha or not, I’m was going to rip his head off.

“I cannot smell anything else when I’m around you” this sentence brought me back.

“Cherries”.

“What?”.

“When I’m around you I can smell cherries”.

“Felicity let me ask you one thing, why are you here tonight and what is the last thing you remember?” he said the sentence softly, almost caring.

“Zara wouldn’t go back to our bedroom; she came out and I had a feeling to follow her here. She wouldn’t budge so I stayed here with her and decided I should go for a swim and I went behind the waterfall and then” the realisation hit me… I didn’t remember what happened. “And then your hands were on my hips, you bastard!”

“No no no listen, Bane brought me here and you came out from behind the waterfall, only it wasn’t you, it was your wolf Estrid” he confessed angrily.

With the mention of the name Estrid I yelped in pain and fell in the water, I lost the feeling of my legs and Kilian jumped towards me. As he held me in his hands, I felt a spark move around my body before I could move, he held me tighter “You feel that don’t you? The mate bond, its only getting stronger, please try to understand”. His strong hands held my waist and I grabbed onto his arms. I felt a warm comfortable feeling in my stomach.

As soon as I felt my legs again, I pushed him away, and started to walk back to the Estate. I had enough!

“I spoke with Estrid, she said she wants you to know about her” he said quietly as he walked towards me again. “She said that she knows you inside and out and she cannot wait for you to meet her, she is sweet but scared” he paused. “Okay let’s try this another way” he held his hand up signalling that he will not touch me again.

“What?”

“Close your eyes and say her name in your head, if you don’t hear a response, I will not mention this again. We will never speak of this night again but please just say her name” he put his hands together as if he was begging me to do this. I was hesitant, I needed Zara next to me, but at the same time I felt safe. I stood firmly and closed my eyes.

“That’s it, now imagine you are on your own, in a place full of peace, no sound around you, don’t be tense and just do it” Kilian directed.

I let out a deep sight and focused on my mind.

Estrid? Are you there?

Nothing, complete silence, when I came to it Kilian was still half covered in water with water dripping down his collar bone. I shook my shoulders and started to walk off; this was a waste of my time.

Finally, hello Felicity!

Kilian POV:

Felicity turned back around and her eyes were filled with tears. I wanted to run up to her and hug her close, she closed her eyes again and collapsed. I didn’t know what was wrong, I was naked in the middle of the forest with an unconscious future Mother. The Daughters would rip me apart if they saw me bring her inside bridal style without any clothes. I had to shift into Bane. He slowly picked her up and put her on his shoulder. Zara appeared from the bushes still half asleep and just bowed down. Who was this dog?

He gently ran towards the Estate and sneaked through the back door. I didn’t remember the last time Bane walked along these corridors. It must have been when him and Oscar were chasing each other. Bane laid her out on her bed and Zara jumped on, snuggling next to her. I quickly shifted back into myself and ran towards the pack hospital dragging Dr. Woods with me. I told her that I found Felicity in the forest on my run and she hasn’t woken up since. When we got back into her room, I was surprised to see my mother there waiting for me.

“Kilian out now, we need to talk” I have never seen my mother more pissed off, not even when Seth destroyed all of her Christmas decorations two years ago.

“When were you going to tell me that you found your mate?” it was the first thing she said when we walked back into my office.

“I’m going to kill Seth; he wasn’t supposed to tell you!” I’m going to break his fingers in training tomorrow.

“Seth didn’t tell me anything, I’m your mother, I know she is your mate”.

“How?” how could my mother know I found my mate?!

“Well firstly you would not stop looking at her at dinner tonight, that’s fine you’re a young wolf, do whatever you want” she said raising her hands. “But it wasn’t what you did, it’s what she said” raising one eyebrow like I was supposed to know what she is talking about.

“She said she smells cherries!” mother shouted; she never shouts. “Kilian when I was pregnant with you, your father said that I no longer smelled like ‘toffee apples’ I smelled like cherries. But it wasn’t me, my scent changed because it was you. Your mate can smell you; Felicity can smell you!” she had a massive grin on her face.

“Mother it is not that simple, Alpha Marcel and Luna Ophelia said I need to reject her” she saw red and she mind linked my father straight away, he appeared in the doorway after a few minutes.

“What’s the matter its nearly eleven” he said half asleep.

“I just told him about his mate, and he was advised to reject her by your best friend” mother groaned.

“What why?”

“Father, why haven’t you ever told me about Luna Ophelia and what she really is or was?” His face dropped “Don’t bother telling me now, I know all about the Daughters and what they do, the pack just thinks they are skilled murderers and I want to keep it that way. Felicity is a human and the next Mother of her “pack” she is the first blood heir, and she has the most runes, she is destined to be the greatest warrior in the Elder history” I couldn’t help but smash a glass I held in my hand, making my mother jump.

“Then why would the Moon Goddess pair you with her if you are basically star -crossed lovers?” my mother was nearly at a breaking point.

“That’s the thing, I want her more than anything, I crave her attention, her body, her smell and tonight I met her wolf” I confessed.

“How can a human have a wolf?” my father stood up from the chair he was sitting in.

“Her wolf has been hidden, when she came out it really took its toll on her and she fainted, I will tell you more about it tomorrow, now please go back to bed and I will go see how Felicity is feeling”.
