3. A Perfect Toy

Zephyr * ‘Over my dead body,’ That was what my answer was, but it died in my mouth when my father’s voice rang in my head, asking me to behave. “Sure, he will." He answered on my behalf. I gritted my teeth and stayed quiet. Althea placed her hand over mine to calm me down. ‘Just tell her the truth and threaten her to cooperate.' She mind-linked. I pulled my hand away from her and focused on having dinner, though I had lost my appetite a long time ago. I had to share a table with a person whose family had killed my people in the past. My blood boiled at that thought. ‘But she is innocent, isn’t she?’ My wolf suggested. ‘Even if that is so, then the truth won’t change that she is a human, a weakling. The future Alpha King is taking a human Luna as his mate. I wanted to laugh at the thought. I needed a powerful queen by my side, not a human, whom I hated the most after those bloodsucking leeches. My perfect life collapsed from the moment when that witch cursed me! * Flashback * I went hunting on the eve of my eighteenth birthday along with my friends in the forest. Faris had arranged alcohol as well. Everything was great until I woke up in the middle of the night hearing the painful scream of a woman. Without wasting a second, I ran toward the scream to save whoever was in dire need of help. I was shocked to see that Faris, one of my friends, was forcing himself on a woman. I pulled him away from her and punched him with all my strength. “Have you lost your mind? Has the alcohol gone to your head?” I growled. “When she doesn’t have any problem, then why are you poking your nose in between?” Faris slurred. He didn’t look like he was in his right mind. I grabbed his arm and pushed him away when he tried to approach that woman. “Come back to your senses, Faris. She is a human, a weakling, and a lowly creature. Do you really want to stoop so low and touch someone who is beneath us?” I questioned him; knowing him all my life, I knew this method was going to work on him. “Our pack is full of strong she-wolves. You’ll get many, so just ignore this human, buddy,” I said, and thankfully, the reverse psychology worked, and he walked away from there while I stayed back with the thought of taking that woman out of the forest. The moment I turned around, I found that woman glaring at me. “Why are you throwing daggers with your eyes instead of thanking me? If only you hadn't been weak, this wouldn't have happened to you. " I showed her reality. “You called humans weaklings…" Her voice roared, and she didn’t look like just a human anymore. It was then that I sensed magic, and my eyes widened in shock. She wasn’t just a human but a witch. “I curse you and all your kind that from this moment not a single offspring will be born in anyone’s family." “Please… I beg you." I quickly went to my knees, realizing what I just did. Witches could be weak in strength, but no one competes with their magical power. “I said all those things to protect you,” I selfishly reminded her of the favor that I had done for her. So, she owes me one, right? “That doesn’t change what you think about humans?” She chuckled, still glaring at me. “Fine. If you marry a human,” immediately she smirked, and I felt a chill down my bones, “not just anyone, but marry the daughter of a hunter and have an heir with her, then every one of your kind can have their offspring.” W…what? Before I could negotiate any further, she disappeared from there. At first, I didn’t believe the curse, but one by one, every she-wolf who was carrying pups ended up having miscarriages, or the pups couldn’t survive during delivery. After all, no matter how hard anyone tried, they couldn’t get pregnant. And surprisingly, this wasn’t the problem of my pack, but of all the packs in the whole world. The population of werewolves was decreasing, and the solution was to marry my archenemy. If the curse had ended at that point, then I could have tolerated it, but to have a pup with a human was disturbing. * “Zephyr… Zephyr…” Dad's loud voice brought me back to reality. “It looks like you have no intention of having dinner. Why don’t you give a tour of the pack to Lady Gianna then?” Why couldn’t he do that himself? "Sure." I forced myself to get up from my seat. “I haven’t done anything like this before, so keep your expectations low." I initiated the conversation once we were alone. “It’s okay. I don't have any expectation from you at all.” My eyes narrowed when I understood the meaning behind it, or maybe I was overthinking. I was not quite sure. For the first time, instead of glaring at her, I observed her. “Says the one who is practically showing her body with this vulgar dress,” I remarked, looking at her breasts. I could clearly see the stitching around the neck, but because of it, the dress looked so tight-fitting around her breasts that I wouldn’t be surprised if it popped out by ripping the dress apart. “Is this your way to seduce me? Then it is not working at all?” Lie. It was working. I had no idea. Why? But after that witch curse, I had stopped feeling desire for any she-wolves; for some reason, I felt like a hungry beast watching her in this seductive dress. “I’m glad. In that case, you won’t lunge at me like a horny mutt to spend a wedding night with me.” She was about to move forward when I grabbed her wrist and pulled her close. “Who said that I need to be interested in your body to spend a wedding night with you? I can f**k you like a w***e if I want." Of course, that’s a lie, but there was no way she could detect it, right? “Unhand me." She struggled in my arms, rubbing her breast against mine. “Weak,” I said, enjoying her misery, and tightened my grip to make her realize that I was the superior among us. “I can break your bones with a snap of my finger, you know that, don’t you?” I threatened, hearing her heartbeat increase. It looked like I had found a perfect toy for my entertainment. * #TBC
