I was getting irked by Kate, Mom, and Adler praising that weakling's dedication and intelligence. Unlike our family, who had a real reason for this political marriage, those hunters didn’t have one.
Who knew what they were planning when they agreed to this alliance?
Did they send their precious daughter to our pack as a spy?
And just when we let our guard down, we suffered a heavy loss.
“I didn’t do it." I wanted to rip her tongue out when she argued in front of Father.
“Then who else could have done this? Except for my mother, only you were allowed to hand in the documents. How did those hunters learn about arms delivery and attack our people and steal all of those weapons that we needed to fight against the vampires?” I questioned. Why the hell were we even doing this?
Just kill her already.
She took a deep breath before responding, “First things first, except for Luna, Clover, and me, there are many other pack members who are allowed to access Luna's office. Second thing, how could I share that information with my family members when I didn’t have a mobile, nor could I mind-link like you all? Third, I’m sure you guys have planted spies around me to keep an eye on me because I’m your enemy’s daughter. Fourth, even if you claim that I might have sent this information through letters, then I doubt your pack members are incapable of sensing another human in this forest. Fifth, are you sure that the hunters were from my family? Because we hunters take down the alpha and alpha heirs instead of stealing weapons like thieves. Six, my family isn’t that poor; they could afford the weapons to kill the vampires. Seven, why would my family pull such a stupid plan where there is a chance of their precious daughter getting caught and executed, who they had sent to marry the alpha heir?"
“Are these reasons enough, or should I create a few more questions so that you can think about this situation clearly?” She questioned confidently.
I didn’t want to admit it, but she had valid points.
“From my point of view, this is the work of someone who didn’t want this marriage to happen. I don’t know who that person could be, but I’m positive that my family isn’t one of them for sure.” She explained the things logically and calmly.
“You can return to your room, but you’ll be under house arrest until this matter is solved,” Dad announced.
“Before leaving, I want to ask you something, Alpha King." Father nodded, giving her permission to go ahead. “Why did you propose this alliance when you had to treat me like a criminal the moment something went south in the pack?”
My father’s eyes widened in shock because he didn’t see this coming. “How dare you talk to my dad like that?”
“You stay out of it. Not once did you open your mouth when your world, Luna, was interrogated, and now you are defending your father.
“That’s because he is my family; unlike you, he won’t benefit from this attack,” I responded.
“The heir that you want from me will share my blood along with yours. Will that child be treated like this? Will that child live all his/her life with the stigma that his/her mother is a hunter?”
"..."
“Even if you say no, it will be hard to believe, observing how you’re treating me right now. I bet no one else would have been called here for interrogation except me."
"..."
“If you can’t trust me, then cancel this political marriage. I didn’t ask to be the Luna of the pack or start my Luna training."
“It takes time to build trust, Lady Vane. I hope you can give us that time,” Father answered on my behalf because she was speaking while looking at me.

Once that weakling left, he looked at me angrily.
“She is the daughter of my enemy, but I can’t stop myself from praising her wits and points. The moment we heard the news, we fumed in anger, and anyone in her state would have cowered in fear, but instead, she stayed firm and unwavering. You should learn something from her,” he added.
I bit my tongue, unable to answer back.
“She has a thing called a brain in the top of her head, which you always forget to use when you’re angry. So, you both would make a great pair if you work together.”
"..."
“Zephyr, you’re going to become the Alpha King, and with great power comes a great responsibility. So, for a minute, ignore your ego and try to maintain a good relationship with Lady Vane. A king needs to sacrifice, so consider that you’re sacrificing your dream of having a strong Luna.”
Good relationship with that red chili?
‘It feels like she is sprinkling red chili powder when she speaks,’ I thought.
"As if you sprinkle flowers at her," my wolf responded.

“Why are you here?” Gianna Vane asked the moment I entered the room where she was asked to visit. “I asked you something, Alpha King Heir."
“...”
“Don’t tell me that you’re my tutor for a bedroom etiquette lesson?” She asked, raising her brow.
“I don’t mind becoming your tutor if you want, but right now, I’m going to play the role of your partner." I couldn’t wait to see her expression when she would learn what exactly she would be taught during this lesson.
Even though she was a human, how could she be so clueless?
Didn’t she have a boyfriend before? Well, that could be hard to believe.
After a while, Aveline Thorne, the pack’s former Gamma female, entered the room. She introduced herself before explaining exactly what this human had to learn in this class.
“This lesson is important for a healthy relationship between a couple, i.e., the alpha and luna." Instead of listening to Aunt Aveline’s words, my eyes were on the human whose eyes were wide like a soccer ball.
“Now, we will understand what the things are that are required for any healthy relationship. The first is communication; the second is maintaining a peaceful environment instead of yelling or arguing with your partner,...”
Immediately, her head turned toward me as if she were saying that I was the reason behind our fight.
“Can I skip this lesson, Lady Aveline?” She spoke, interrupting Aunt Aveline in between.
“May I know the reason, Lady Vane?”
“Because I don’t think I can share a healthy relationship with Alpha King Heir, nor am I going to bear his child." My eyes flashed in anger, and I mind-linked Aunt to leave immediately.
How could she say something like that in front of my people, whose expectations were linked with my heir and me?
“Repeat the same line in front of others, and I’ll rip your tongue,” I growled, walking toward her.
“Did I say anything different from what you wish for yourself? The only difference is that I can admit it loudly while you're a coward." I grabbed her throat, digging my nails into her neck.
“Take it back,”
"..." She struggled to get rid of my grip instead of saying anything. I pushed her away, making her fall on the floor. She hissed when her elbow hit the ground, but I cared less about her pain at this moment.
"Apologize right now.”
“Never,” she replied, glaring back at me. I hated how she stood against me, even though she was just a human. In the next moment, I grabbed her arm roughly and made her stand on her feet, only to drag her out of the room."
It looked like her father had spoiled and pampered this brat a lot to have such an attitude and arrogance. I swore to break them by any means possible.
“You’ll stay here without food and water until you apologize to me and promise to obey my command,” I said, throwing her in the dark dungeon where a weakling like her couldn’t even survive for a couple of hours and soon would cry to take her out.
“Keep dreaming."
I didn’t remember when I got this angry last time. Her replies were working like fuel to my anger.
“You’re making things harder for yourself. You can simply apologize and…”
“Stop wasting your time because what you want to hear from me isn’t going to come out of my mouth." She snapped, cutting me in between.
“We’ll see." I walked out of there.
Maybe I was taking this too far, but this human needed to know that she couldn’t just insult and argue with me, the Alpha King Heir, like her best friend.
