Hannah was walking home after school, PE is her last class so she couldn't wait to get home so she could hop in the shower. She was planning what to do when she was done, in deep thought about what her and her friends, Janasia, Roxanne, and clover, could do that she almost missed the sound of a stick snapping a few yards behind her. She stopped and listened for a while thinking it was just her cat wandering about again."We need to get that gate fixed so he won't get out anymore." "Hendrix!" she called for him, she was about to call out again when she heard some bushes rustling to the side of her, much closer now. She turned to look where the sound came from, but she didn't see or hear anything, she called out her cats name a few more times but still no response. Now she was starting to get nervous because she cat would've come to her by now, she was starting to think that something could've happened to her pet and was about to go looking through the bushes to try and find him when she heard the rustling again even closer then before. She decided that she should go to her house to make sure Hendrix wasn't there because she had a feeling the things with her wasn't him. "If he isn't at home me and dad can go look for him." she thought to herself while starting back on her way home. After a few feet she heard the rustling again, but this time she chose to ignore it, she was getting worried that it mightve been a wild animal or some crazy person like from the murder mystery shows she watches with her dad so she decided to walk a little faster. Then she heard it again this time coming from right next to her, she wiped around o ly to be met with nothing, she looked all around her but couldn't see anything. She was really starting to get scared so she decided to just run home. The sound of twigs snapping and bushes rustling continued her entire way home and seemed to be running with her. She finally reached her home and busted inside, swiftly locked the door and ran to the kitchen to grab a knife. She walked over to the window to see if she was followed but couldn't see anything but something told her not to trust it, so she took the knife upstairs, locked her door and sat in the closet with her phone and weapon. She called her dad first and told him about everything that happened, he told her to stay where she was and he would call the police. Then she called her friends and told them the situation and they insisted on coming over, she told them not to because she didn't know if she was being paranoid or not and that someone really dangerous could be out there, but they said they were on their way anyway. While she was still texting her friends she heard a knock coming from downstairs, she texted her dad and asked if the police were there already and he said no and that he would tell her if they were their and to not open the door until then. She knew that it couldn't be her friends because she just got off the phone with them a minute ago and they couldn't possibly make it there in that little time. She waited anxiously until her heard another knock, and then another, and another until thr person was violently banging on the door. She started frantically texting her dad while crying telling him to hurry. He told her that the police were on the way and that he was on his way too. Then she heard as her front door was being broken down. Whoever the person must've been strong because they broke down entire door in a few seconds. Then their was complete silence all she could hear was her heart beat and th sound of her tear drops hitting the ground. Then she heard her mother voice calling to her. "Come downstairs baby, everything is alright now." She heard her mother call out in a desperate tone. She sat there in her closet clutching the knife as she could do nothing but listen as her mother continued calling out to her, each time sounding less desperate and caring and more impatient. Hannah flinched as her mother yelled to her again, this time booming with anger, "COME OUT NOW HANNAH, YOURE MAKING ME ANGRY" she yelled, this time she started throwing things around. "How, How is this happening? Moms dead so how is she down there? Am I goning crazy?" She switched her phone to voice record so she could show it to the police later if ahe made it out alive. She heard as her mother started rummaging around room to room looking for her. When she was done she started to head up the stairs, Hannah knew because the stairs always made that squeaky noise when you walked. She flashed back to when she would get up past her bedtime and would try to sneak snacks but was always caught. Hannah didn't know if that was from her being reminded of her mother or that was her life flashing before her eyes, she didn't want either to be honest. She listened in fear as her mother went In her dad's room and the bathroom searching for her. Then her mother stopped right outside the door. She watched in horror as the knob twisted in turned as whatever was outside tried to get in. Then it let out a long inhumane screech that made Hannah cover her ears, then it broke the door down. Hannah just stared at the creature standing at her now broken door. "What the hell is that" Hannah thought, The creature she saw before didn't even look human let alone like her mother. It was a tall figure at least 7 feet. It was extremely skinny, As if it had been starved for years on end. It's arms and legs looked like they could be the same height. It was crouched over on all fours to fit through the door frame. Its head was moving rapidly, "Is it looking for me?" She asked herself. It was completely white except for the black holes she assumed were it's eyes, and it's mouth which was also completely black and filled with jagged teeth. It didn't have a nose so Hannah was relieved that it couldn't sniff her out. She grabbed her phone and put it on silent just in case someone called and was going to see if her dad said anything about the police while the creature began to search her room. She was about to turn on her camera to send a picture of it to her dad when she noticed the creature was staring at her hiding place as if it just noticed the closet was there. She felt her heart drop to her stomach and just stared at the creature as it stared at the closet, seemingly at her. "Hannah?" it said in her mother voice "Are you in there" It asked in a cheerier tone. Hannah was contemplating whether to try fighting it off or not when it got to her. she looked at the knife in her hand "This isn't going to do much to that thing. Maybe if I run out and stab it then run out the house?" "What the hell happened here?" they heard Janasia shout. Both Hannah and the creature froze then Hannah watched horrified as it's bones bent inhumanely and it slowly turned into her mother, then it went downstairs to her friends. Hannah didn't stop to hear what they were saying. She knew her friends would have ran away when they saw her mother standing there, they were at her funeral after all. So Hannah jumped out of the second story window and hit the ground below then she ran towards the woods she looked towards her house and saw her friends running toward her but her 'mother' didn't follow but they kept running anyway.
