“Okay,” Cody said, “I’m up for it.”
When they had put the horses up, Cody and Jace took Rusty with them to the golf cart. Jace sat in back with the baby dog in his lap. “Drive, boss man, drive,” Jace said.
Cody chuckled, then drove to his unit. They went inside, and Rusty went straight to his corner where Cody petted him.
“Tough day, huh, baby dog.” He addressed Jace next. “I figured you might want a quieter place, and that we’d give Macon and Bailey some space.”
“What do you think of Bailey’s idea regarding these units?”
“It was very clever of him,” Cody said. “Do you think maybe he ran with it too quickly—before asking you or Macon first?”
“Nah,” Jace said, and started removing his boot.
