** Mystery Girl POV**
She quickly dodges out of the side door as fast as possible. The guards wouldn't be looking as hard tonight due to the ceremony and the fact that only ten percent of the guards were even out tonight. So, it really was a perfect plan.
Doubts had been thought, but there was always a back up plan for every flaw in the process. No plan was perfect, there was always other variables getting in the way. That was why her father trained her to prepare for the worst.
Nothing happens the way it is supposed to, he would always tell her how important it was to prepare to the nth degree and keep preparing even while on the mission. Even the strongest assassins died due to not being diligent of their surroundings.
She held in her breath as she concealed herself behind a tree while a couple guards walked by talking about the ceremony and how sweet and beautiful the new Luna was. They were right though, but she was more than just a kind and pretty face, but leave it up for men to only see such in a woman.
She rips out of the server's uniform as she approached the forest and shifted into her wolf. Her wolf loved to be set free, she was a fierce and powerful wolf, most of the time staying in her wolf form unless she really has to shift back.
After bounding across the packs borders, she continued running in the direction she came. After twenty more miles she made a stop around a deep gorge and started to slowly go down the steep incline. Her camp was easily one of the best Rogue camps out there. Nobody had ever found-
"Madelyn!"
What the hell?! As I was about to open to pot hole to climb down to my hide away I see a stout figure peeping from within. I growl at him as I shift back, no shame of my nakedness, I motion for him to get the hell out of my way as I climbed down after the imbecile.
As my feet hit bottom ground I grumble out a sharp, "I thought I told you not to follow me!"
I look up at the tall burly man in front of me that is my father, he never changes. Always has to be in charge and domineering, such an Alpha. Well, that was until our pack was destroyed mercilessly while I was even on a mission none of the less! Almost as though the whole things was planned accordingly. Nobody would dare attack us while both my father an I are around.
"That wasn't apart of the mission Madelyn." He hands me my black silk robe before sauntering over to my living area I made for myself in my little hide away. He sits on the maroon recliner and makes himself a little too comfortable for my taste.
I scoff, "So what? YOU get to decide who gets saved now? Oh ya that's right, cause you play with God, right?"
He grumbled some unintelligent curses before answering, "Just leave her out of this! We can take care of this on our own!"
I laugh sarcastically loud, "HAHA! Oh really?! So what happens when they arrive at the Black Moon Pack, huh? I had to warn her!"
He shakes his head, "You need to worry about the mission and stop getting your damn heart wrapped in everything all the time."
She slowly shakes her head while looking back at him with disdain, "Why, so I can lose my heart like you did a long time ago?"
Before he can finish I have already slipped on my all black jumpsuit and strapped my legs and waist up with my favorite weapons. Luckily I had spent the past couple months brewing potions and that only, so I was well stocked up for a while.
"I gotta go."
He doesn't say a word, he knows he no longer holds any control over me. He should be thankful he caught my trip wire instead of blowing himself up to smithereens, just teaches me to replace my wires a bit more...strategically. I feel my mind go dark with my thoughts as I continue through the forest.
I found the first print a mile down the river, it wasn't human, but it wasn't wolf. So I knew I was on the right trail, but before I could take another step I hear a low, but familiar growl. Before I could turn around to see who dared to approach me, my back was flung against the nearest tree.
I pant loudly as I catch my breath while also rolling to my side to avoid another landing of limbs coming towards me, again they try to grab me, but I roll to the opposite side and flip myself backwards, up in a standing position to only smirk at what is before me. The big bad black Alpha wolf.
"You're going to haveta huff an puff a lil harder than that to catch me, Dean."
His voice growls as he takes in my calm demeanor before shifting back and slipping on a pair of basketball shorts. Once changed, I focus my gaze back onto him.
"You got a lot of balls to come onto my territory Madelyn!"
Yep, he looks pissed. I scrunch my eyebrows together to impose my innocent expression, "What are you even talking about?"
He sighs out loudly, exasperated by my denial, "Stop the bullshit and tell me what you were doing? Jax saw you and said you disappeared from plain sight. At first I didn't believe it, but ya know what? It really did sound a lot like something stupid that you would do. Also, you never come up north anymore. What brings you here?!"
I laugh at his words, oh this man knows me too well, "Maybe Jax should get his eye sight checked. Isn't he one of your warriors? That can't be good for him to-"
"Cut the s**t Maddie!" He interrupts. Jeez he is really getting worked up.
"O-M-G! Always such a drama queen! So what? You gunna kill me then?" I smile slyly, "I mean try to kill me then?"
He shakes his head annoyingly, "I swear, if you come anywhere near my territory, or my mate! Then yes, I will have to kill you."
I smile sheepishly, "Hm, sounds like a date."
He rolls his eyes, "I am serious Madelyn. I can't have you sneaking into my border whenever you please, technically you are a rogue. What business did you have there anyway?"
Yes, he is one of the few wolves who has seen my face and lived to tell about it. Although, to my dissatisfaction. We have also become strangely close throughout the years. Always stumbling upon each other while on a mission.
We actually have made a good team a time or two, despite us arguing consistently like brother and sister. I couldn't explain how we had gotten close, there were too many events that strewed about after we met.
"You know I would never go against our treaty Dean, I only go after evil. You know this."
He nods, "That is why I came to see you. What am I up against?"
My smile drops and is replaced by my normal cold expression, "Honestly, I have no idea. I've been going through tracks and prints like crazy, but whoever it is...they're good, like really good Dean."
I point down to the track that I had just discovered and watched as he sniffed it, "A witch?"
I nod, "Yes, but there are others. I will continue to search, but hey quick favor?"
He rolls his eyes an doesn't look to happy with my question, "Do you think that if I promise to fill you in, then uhm, you're guards won't kill me on sight? If they can catch me that is," I mutter the last part, but I am certain he heard me.
He groans before nodding, "You have one month of a pass. Don't abuse it though, or I swear that I will come after you myself."
I let out a small laugh, "Okay, sounds fun mean Dean. Now if you don't mind, I got a lot of work to do."
I make the motion of shooing him away as he shakes his head an rolls his eyes before saying, "Although if you don't watch your mouth and actions, I can't help it if one of my guards does lay a hand on that smart ass mouth of yours."
I smile as I watch him depart, "I would like to see them try!"
