The helicopter was high above the city, flying back toward Rex’s new base. Rex was full of satisfaction. He had won the first fight. “Ghost, what is that signal?” Rex asked. He looked over Ghost’s shoulder at the computer screen. On that computer, a line of flashing code showed: It was a military frequency, totally private and secret. Rex knew that code. It was Kilo’s personal emergency beacon, used only if she needed a full extraction from enemy territory. “It’s Kilo’s emergency code,” Ghost confirmed, “It’s weak. Very weak.
