The blinding spotlight was directly in the Rex face, He couldn't see anything. "HE'S IN THE VENT! OPEN FIRE!" Rex knew he had less than a second. He was stuck. Going back was too late. Dropping down into the pitch-black room with guards who knew he was there meant he would be shot. I have to trust the noise again. Rex let go of the vent grate and pushed himself backward. He slid along the narrow metal tunnel, trying to get out of the spotlight's light. The air vent was instantly filled with the terrible sound of gunfire.
