It was early morning when the doorbell woke Malaika up. "Ugh! Who's so early in the morning?" Annoyed by the constant ringing, Malaika muttered, "I'm coming, brother!"As soon as Malaika opened the door, she found two tall, broad men and one girl standing there. One man looked 29 to 32 years old, and the other seemed to be the same age. The girl was 25 to 28.Malaika looked at them with questioning eyes. She was new to this city. She had transferred from Lahore to Karachi and didn't know any of them. Then the girl spoke, "I'm Shama, and these are Haadi and Sayan. The department sent us to pick you up."Malaika asked them to come in and said, "Please wait a bit, I'll change and be right back." She was in her pink night suit. Today was her first day in Karachi. After changing, she came back and offered everyone tea and coffee, but they all refused. "We're getting late, the Chief will get angry."Everyone sat in the car and left. After half an hour, they reached a building. Shama was guiding Malaika because Malaika was new there. Malaika was very beautiful, so everyone's eyes were on her. They all entered a room with four chairs, one big table, and an LCD mounted on the wall in front. Four boys and four girls were already present in the room. No one was visible on the LCD, but a voice was definitely coming from it.That voice greeted everyone and asked, "How is everyone?" Including Malaika, everyone replied, "Alhamdulillah, we are all fine."Then the voice asked Malaika, "Malaika, how was your journey today?" "It was very good," Malaika said. The voice said, "You are Malaika from Punjab Police and you have been transferred here. Now you will handle cases together with this team."In the end, the voice said, "You may all leave now. Come back tomorrow. You will be briefed about the case you have to work on."Everyone left the place fresh and energetic.But... The LCD screen was still black. And the Chief's voice was echoing...
