Chapter 1: The Devil's Contract
The rain hammered against the windows of Khan Mansion like angry fists.
Aanya Shah stood in the massive black marble foyer, clutching her sister’s hospital file to her chest. Her knuckles were white. Her heart was louder than the storm outside.
She had 24 hours.
Either she signed the papers in front of her, or her 16-year-old sister would be thrown out of the hospital. The medical bill was 2 crores. Her father was dead. Her mother was gone. There was no one else.
Across from her, seated like a king on a black leather chair, was Zayn Khan.
The Mafia King of Karachi.
He didn’t look up from his phone at first. Black suit. White shirt. Tattoos peeking from his collar. The air around him felt cold. Dangerous. Like standing too close to a knife.
“Sign it,” his voice was low, rough, final. No emotion.
Aanya lifted her chin. “One month. No love. No touch. That was the deal.”
Finally, he looked up. Dark eyes. Cold eyes. Eyes that had seen blood.
He studied her like she was a problem to solve. She was 22. Desperate. Beautiful in a way that made his jaw tighten. But he didn’t care. This was business.
“You need me, Aanya,” Zayn said, sliding the contract across the table. “I don’t need you. So you will follow my rules. You will be my wife on paper. You will attend my events. You will never question me. And in 30 days, it’s over.”
Her hand shook as she picked up the pen.
For her sister, she would marry the devil himself.
The pen touched the paper.
Zayn watched her sign her name. Aanya Shah. His wife. For one month only.
“No love,” he said again, standing up. He was tall. Too tall. She had to tilt her head back to meet his gaze. “No touch. That’s the rule, Mrs. Khan.”
She nodded, tears burning her eyes but refusing to fall. “Deal.”
But as he walked past her, his scent hit her. Smoke, leather, and something dark she couldn’t name.
And for one second, his fingers brushed hers as he took the signed contract.
Neither of them spoke.
But both of them felt it.
A spark.
Dangerous. Forbidden.
The deal had just begun.
