THE ADVENTURE TO THE HALF MOON: IMPARTATIONS

The Lord of the Moon stood as the astronauts ate their plateful of potatoes. The astronauts ate their food and drank water.

“Thank you, archaic one!” Alfred said.

“Thank you, Lord of the Moon!” the other astronauts said.

“Don’t thank me; I hope you are satisfied?” the Lord of the Moon said.

“Yes, we are,” the astronauts chorused and stood up.

“Now, back to our previous conversation; Sarah, I said I would teach you how to avenge your husband’s death, right?” the Lord of the Moon said.

“Yes, Orator!!” Sarah said.

“Good. I will teach you some magical languages; repeat after me; fiat lux! (Let there be light),” the Lord of the Moon said.

“Fiat lux!” Sarah said and there was light everywhere.

The astronauts were shocked. Everywhere was bright again and the astronauts could clearly see the Lord of the moon's residence.

“Sarah, now say; tenebrae fiant! (let there be darkness),” the Lord of the moon said.

“Tenebrae fiat!” Sarah said and there was darkness again.

Sarah became happy. She mesmerized the two magical languages she had learnt.

“Lord of the Moon, won’t you teach us some magical languages too?” Smith said jealously.

“What’s your name?” the Lord of the Moon said.

“I am Smith!” Smith said.

“And you?” the Lord of the Moon said, referring to Brown.

“I am Brown, Lord of the Moon,” Brown said.

“Good. Alfred, Brown and Smith, I will teach you some powerful languages later; let me train Sarah first,” the Lord of the Moon said.

“Okay, Orator!!” the astronauts said.

“Sarah, now say; mando praesentia animalia fera! (I command the presence of wild animals),” the Lord of the Moon said.

“Mando praesentia animalia fera!” Sarah said, and wild animals appeared.

The astronauts, out of fear, ran into the Lord of the Moon's residence. The Lord of the Moon laughed at them and told them to come out.

“You are mighty men; come out right now...,” the Lord of the Moon said.

The astronauts refused to come out until the Lord of the Moon uttered some magical words and the wild animals disappeared.

“Now, come out!!” the Lord of the Moon said and laughed.

“Do you want to kill us?” Alfred said as they walked out.

“You are mighty men who need no fear. Sarah, you must learn to be courageous and trust your magical pronunciations,” the Lord of the Moon said.

“Wild animals are too dangerous,” Sarah said and everyone laughed.

“You are right, but these ones I summoned are harmless; you should have at least exercised a little patience before running,” the Lord of the Moon said.

“Maybe when next you call them, I will at least be bold,” Sarah said and everyone laughed.

“Should I call them again?” the Lord of the Moon said.

“No!!” Sarah said and took two steps backwards.

“You are still frightened; you will have mastery of the skills soon. Now say; suscipe me! (take me up)” the Lord of the Moon said.

“Suscipe me!” Sarah said and she was carried to the house rooftop.

The astronauts laughed at Sarah as she screamed for help. After about two minutes, the Lord of the Moon brought Sarah back to the ground.

“You scared me, you know,” Sarah said with laughter.

“I am training you into a magician. By saying suscipe me, you could be carried to the hilltop, rooftop and sundries,” the Lord of the Moon said.

“What if I need food?" " What magical language can I use?” Sarah said.

“If you need food, just say sit cibus (let there be food) and there will be food. However, it depends on the food you have in mind,” the Lord of the Moon said.

“Okay, Orator!!” Sarah said.

“You have taught Sarah a lot; it’s time you taught us too,” Alfred said curiously.

“I do my things gradually, you have to exercise a little patience. I want to focus on Sarah first,” the Lord of the Moon said.

“Okay..., great one,” Alfred said.

“Good. Sarah, bring your mouth,” the Lord of the Moon said.

The Lord of the moon breathed into Sarah’s mouth; something like smoke moved from the Lord of the Moon's mouth into Sarah’s mouth. Sarah's body system changed immediately, her eyeballs became very bright, her hair changed into grey, her skin became thin and she turned into an old woman holding a walking stick.

“An old woman?” the astronauts said.

“Welcome, great woman; now let’s see the real you,” the Lord of the Moon said, and the old woman changed back.

“Wow!!” the astronauts chorused.

“Sarah, welcome back. I have imparted you and you are now a magic custodian. However, you can’t make use of your power, unless you change into an old woman. To change into an old woman, say; mea vetula! (my old woman),” the Lord of the Moon said.

“Mea vetula!” Sarah said and changed into an old woman with a walking stick.

“Say; mea puella! (my young lady),” the Lord of the Moon said.

“Mea puella!” Sarah said and changed back.

“Welcome back!! We will do rehearsals until you have mastery of the skills and your name now is the magic custodian,” the Lord of the Moon said.

“Okay, Lord of the Moon,” Sarah said.

“Alfred! Come closer!” the Lord of the Moon said.

Alfred moved closer, the Lord of the Moon looked straight into his eyes and something like scales fell off from Alfred's eyes.

“What can you see?” the Lord of the Moon said.

“I can see nothing,” Alfred said.

The Lord of the Moon looked into Alfred’s eyes again and Alfred’s body changed. Alfred's skin started shrinking, his fingernails and toenails grew longer and he changed into an old man.

“Alfred has changed!!” the astronauts said.

“Say; iuvenis meus!! (my young man)” the Lord of the Moon said.

“Iuvenis meus!” Alfred said and changed back.

“Welcome. Alfred, your name now is earth bender,” the Lord of the Moon said.

The Lord of the Moon taught Alfred some earth-bending skills and pronunciation.

“Later, we will do rehearsals until you have mastery of earth-bending skills. Brown, come closer,” the Lord of the moon said.

“Okay, orator,” Brown said and moved closer to the Lord of the Moon.

The Lord of the Moon told Brown to bring his left ear close to him. He whispered some words into Brown's ear and Brown changed into a giant.

“Now say; iuvenis meus!! (my young man),” the Lord of the Moon said.

“Iuvenis meus!” Brown said and changed back.

“Welcome back! Stretch your two hands forward!” the Lord of the Moon said.

Brown stretched his hands forward and the Lord of the Moon placed his two palms above Brown's palms. Something like ropes entered Brown's two hands. The Lord of the Moon taught Brown some skills.

“Your name from now onwards is air bender; the air will bow to your call. Later, we will do some rehearsals until you have mastery of air bending skills. The last man should come closer,” the Lord of the Moon said.

“Okay, sir,” Smith said and moved closer to the Lord of the Moon.

The Lord of the Moon marched Smith’s left leg. Long hair grew on Smith's skin and he changed into a giant.

“Say; Iuvenis meus!” the Lord of the Moon said.

“Iuvenis meus!” Smith said and changed back.

“Welcome! Your new name is water bender, the Lord of the Moon said.

The Lord of the Moon taught Smith some water bending skills and told Smith to prepare for rehearsals later.

“You can have a rest first,” the Lord of the Moon said.
