After some time, she kicked the glass cup on the table and it broke; she quickly ran outside. Amelia heard the sound of the broken glass cup and quickly ran after her. “Daughter!! Daughter!! Where are you going to?!” Amelia said with a teary voice. “Leave me alone, Mum. Go back inside,” queen Mackenzie said. Queen Mackenzie stood and began to grasp for breathe, she couldn’t control how angry she was. Amelia quickly ran to meet her. “My daughter, you are upset again. You don’t have to kill yourself because of one stupid king,” Amelia said and rubbed queen Mackenzie’s back. Queen Mackenzie couldn’t hold herself again, tears ran down her face and she fell to the ground. Amelia prevented her from hitting her head on a hard object. “Stop crying, my daughter,” Amelia consoled. “Let me cry, mum. Rehoboth has tarnished my image; he has brought cheap shame to me and my household. I cannot walk majestically and freely as I used to do. I want to die!” queen Mackenzie said. “You will not die. If you die, you gain nothing. I know my impartial God will judge king Rehoboth,” Amelia said with a teary voice. Queen Mackenzie looked at Amelia’s face and cried more, thoughts of what the future would look like without a child and a husband were running through her mind too. “You mean I will not die?” queen Mackenzie said. “Of course! You won’t. Your father died when you were still an infant. I thought I wouldn’t be able to raise you, but here you are today, a grown-up lady. You are the apple of my eye,” Amelia said. “How will I take care of myself and you now? Where will I start from? I am ruined!” Queen Mackenzie said and wept bitterly. “The ancestors are beside us every day; they should be able to take good care of us,” Amelia said. Amelia successfully walked Queen Mackenzie into the sitting room. Queen Mackenzie sat down and used a pillow to support her head. “Cry no more, daughter. Let me get you a glass of water; your system needs to calm down,” Amelia said, and hurriedly walked to the kitchen. Amelia rinsed a glass cup, filled it to its brim with water and hurriedly walked back to the sitting room. “Have this,” Amelia said and gave the glass cup of water to queen Mackenzie. “I hope she is consoled? She has obviously gotten swollen eyeballs,” Amelia thought. “Thank you mum,” queen Mackenzie said after sipping a little portion of water. “Drink more!” Amelia said. “I am satisfied, mum,” queen Mackenzie said. “Alright; continue resting, I am coming,” Amelia said as she stood up. Amelia looked at queen Mackenzie’s face and wished queen Mackenzie could smile. She gathered the particles of the broken glass cup on the floor, took the mug on the table and left the red-painted living room for the kitchen. A few seconds later, she walked back to the living room. “You are still awake?!” Amelia said. “Yes,” queen Mackenzie said. “I thought you were asleep by now,” Amelia said, and sat down on a different couch. Amelia painstakingly studied queen Mackenzie's mood, she figured out that queen Mackenzie's mood had greatly improved, she had put up a bright face. “I told you that the water would calm your system; you are calm now,” Amelia said with a smile. “Mum, thank you for all you do. If not for you, pain would have killed me. You are one in a million, mum,” queen Mackenzie said. “You deserve good treatment like the apple of my eye. Now, give mum a smile,” Amelia said. Queen Mackenzie smiled but, deep down in her heart, she was not happy. She looked at her Amelia, who reciprocated the smile too. Amelia stood up and sat on the same couch as Queen Mackenzie. “You must learn to live on without the king,” Amelia said. “Okay, mum; but we have gotten loving memories together that can’t allow me to forget him so soon,” queen Mackenzie said. “You might be right in that case. What did you actually do to the king?” Amelia said. “I did nothing; he was only sad about the enslaving of the second queen and her daughter; next, he told his guard to lead me out of the palace,” queen Mackenzie said. “What came over him? This is inhuman and an infringement of human rights,” Amelia said. Queen Mackenzie took her gaze away from Amelia as if the last utterances from Amelia didn’t concern her. Amelia quickly noticed this. “Hello…! Are you here?” Amelia said. “Sorry…, mum, I was carried away,” queen Mackenzie said. “Take it easy. I don’t trust you completely based on what you've said, because you are rude at times,” Amelia said. “I am well-trained,” queen Mackenzie said. “Says who?! You were always getting on my nerves before you got married,” Amelia said. “I am as gentle as a dove,” queen Mackenzie said and the duo laughed. “Anyways, I will go and question king Rehoboth; he can’t just use my daughter and dump her like a filthy rag,” Amelia said. “ Will you go to the palace?!” queen Mackenzie said surprisingly. “Yeah! What?!” Amelia said. “Thank you, mum!” queen Mackenzie said. “You don’t deserve to suffer; the king will hear from me,” Amelia said. “Take it easy with him, mum,” queen Mackenzie said and the duo laughed. “Alright; rest while I cook something,” Amelia said and walked away.
