After deep thoughts with no answer, Louise finally dialed Macpherson's phone number. “Meet me in my office now!” Louise said. “Okay, professor; just some minutes, MacPherson said. “Come in!!” Louise said expectantly. “Morning, sir,” Macpherson said. “Morning, Macpherson; sit down,” Louise said. “Thank you, sir,” MacPherson said and sat down. “Please, I want you to tell me the truth; did you take the land document?” Louise said. “No, sir; I have said this hitherto,” Macpherson said. “So you are this adamant? Let's settle this thing without a third party,” Louise said. “I said I didn’t take the document; with due respect, professor, I want to leave now,” MacPherson said. “You are a mad man!! You are inferior, but I relate with you like otherwise. What do you want again?” Louise said. “I won’t stand here and watch you dirty my profile; everyone has rights in this organization,” MacPherson said and Louise slapped him. “You slapped me?” Macpherson said and retaliated. A great fight kicked off between Louise and MacPherson; the duo fought to the extent that the security head officer, Myles, had to run to the scene. “Professors!! What’s all this? Stop!!” Myles said. Myles took the two professors to the veteran vice Chancellor and told him the peripheral of what transpired. “Sit down, professor; you can go now, Myles. Professor Macpherson, what happened?” the vice Chancellor said. “With due respect, sir, Professor Louise popped up a slander against me,” MacPherson said. “A slander? Is this true, Professor Louise?” the vice Chancellor said. “No sir; don’t mind professor MacPherson,” Louise said. “Then what happened?” the vice Chancellor said. “Sir, Macpherson stole my land document?” Louise said. “The new land?” the vice Chancellor said. “Yes, VC,” Louise said. “MacPherson, what do you say about this?” the vice Chancellor said. “VC, I didn’t steal the document; besides, he has no witness for this,” Macpherson said. “That’s not an excuse, MacPherson,” Louise said angrily. “Louise, you need to be respectful these days. I have heard what you said, but I want to tell you that you are immature. A whole professor fighting his counterpart. This is unheard of. What do you want to instill into the young students?” the vice Chancellor said. “We are sorry, sir,” Louise and MacPherson said. “Sorry for yourselves. If I don’t reprimand you, the Chancellor will be angry at me. Therefore, I give you four weeks’ suspension with no salary,” the VC said. “Oh, my God!! That’s too much, sir!! After my hyperactivity,” Louise said. “Four weeks is eternity, sir,” please forgive me!” MacPherson said. “Professor Macpherson, should I say you are hypocritical? I have loved you right from the outset, but with what I am hearing about you these days, I am gradually developing a disdain for you. Professors, in the course of your four weeks’ suspension, make sure you settle the dispute; else, you will be fired. You can make use of the door now,” the vice Chancellor said. LOUISE'S HOUSE During the second week of the suspension, Macpherson drove in his vehicle to Louise’s house one morning. “Hello, professor Louise, Macpherson said as he walked in. “Foolhardy, who opened the door for you?” Louise said with a glare. “I don’t come here for insults, professor,” Macpherson said. “Adalyn, I have always told you to lock the door when we are indoors; some Invaders and professor of vandalism may walk in,” Louise said. “Louise, watch your remarks. Professor MacPherson, please, sit down” Adalyn said. “Thank you, Mrs. Louise,” Macpherson said and sat down. “Do you have anything for us?” Adalyn said. “I am sorry...,” Macpherson said. “Sorry for what, sir?” Adalyn said. “I stole the land document,” Macpherson said. “Oh, my God!! You are insane,” Louise said, and landed two slaps on Macpherson's face. “It’s okay, Louise,” Adalyn said, holding Louise’s hand. “You slapped me?” Louise said with a quavering voice. “And I will slap you again!! Bastard!!” Louise said angrily. “It’s okay. Professor, honestly, I am disappointed in you. I never knew you could do this,” Adalyn said. “I am sorry, Mrs. Louise; plead with your husband on my behalf,” Macpherson said. “Okay, where is the document?” Adalyn said. “It’s inside the car; I am coming,” Macpherson said and walked away. “Louise, please forgive Macpherson,” Adalyn said. “I don’t have anything to say; I am really disappointed in him,” Louise said. “Here is the document, ma,” Macpherson said, and handed over the document to Adalyn. “Okay,” Adalyn said. “Get out!!” Louise said. “Please, professor,” Macpherson said. “I will kill someone now!” Louise said and ran to his room. “Please, professor, go; he is upset,” Adalyn said. “Beg him on my behalf,” Macpherson said, and walked out of the house. “Where is the bastard?!” Louise said, holding a machete as he walked back to the sitting room. “It’s okay, Louise,” Adalyn said, and collected the machete from Louise. “This man is a big liar!!” Dickson said. “He may be right, Dickson,” Jeremy said. “I am not lying, sir. I am hungry,” Louise said. “Foolhardy, do we resemble Santa Claus? When I veil your mouth, you won’t be able to make a silly request,” Logan said. “You will take us to your house; any silly action, I will waste your life!” Charles said. “Okay, sir,” Louise said.
