MacPherson walked into Louise’s office one morning. “Morning, professor,” Macpherson said. “Morning, sir; please, sit down,” Louise said. “Thank you, sir,” MacPherson said and sat down. “I hope there is no problem, professor?” Louise said. “Problem?! No problem at all. I only came to greet you for your new achievement,” MacPherson said. “Achievement?” Louise said. “Yeah, professor. The vice Chancellor told us that you have gotten a new land,” MacPherson said. “Oh! That? Yeah; I have gotten another land by the grace of God,” Louise said. “And I heard it is located in Government Reserved Area 2, right?” MacPherson said. “Yeah, professor,” Louise said with a smile. “Wow!! This is good news, professor. You are so lucky to have land in a busy part of California,” MacPherson said. “You can say that again, professor MacPherson,” Louise said. “Receive my felicitations, sir,” MacPherson said. “Thank you, my pal. Will you have time to come to my house this evening for a better celebration?” Louise said. “Yes, I will have time. You've organized a party?” Macpherson said. “Not really, professor; maybe something like that could happen later. For now, I only want you to come over to my house for a mini and indoor party,” Louise said. “That’s an honor, professor. I will make it there,” MacPherson said. “Good. You can go to your post of duty now,” Louise said. “Okay, sir,” MacPherson said and sauntered out of the office. AT LOUISE'S HOUSE “Let’s dance, bud!” Louise said exuberantly. “Alright, professor; Let the songs roll in,” MacPherson said. Louise and MacPherson danced to the songs sourced from electronics as if there was no tomorrow. Later, Louise walked to the domestic bar and came back with four bottles of champagne. “Let’s pop champagne...,” Louise said. “Hurray!!” MacPherson said exuberantly. Louise and MacPherson sipped champagne as they danced. They enjoyed themselves to the fullest. “Professor, I want to urinate; I'm coming,” Macpherson said and staggered into the master's room. MacPherson hurriedly searched the whole room; he searched the shelves, standing wardrobe, cabinet and sundries, but couldn’t find the unique document, the land document. “Where could this document be?” MacPherson muttered. After several failed attempts at getting hold of the document, Macpherson finally opened the rug beside the sophisticated bed and saw an office file. He removed the office file. “A file? What’s your content? Let me see,” Macpherson said, and opened the file. Macpherson took out the land document from the file; he quickly returned the file to where he picked it from. MacPherson passed through a back door and kept the document in his car. He sauntered back into the sitting room. “What kept you so long?” Louise said, holding a bottle of champagne. “I also passed out excreta too,” MacPherson lied. “Are you okay now?” Louise said. “Yes, professor; where did I stop?” Louise said rhetorically and emptied champagne into a glass cup. The mini-party was rounded up and MacPherson drove to his house. After Louise's wife, Adalyn, and daughter, Olivia, came back from Colorado, Louise broke the news of the land to them. “Adalyn, guess what?” Louise said. “You are the new Vice Chancellor,” Adalyn said. “It’s far from that,” Louise said with laughter. “Dad has gotten an increase in salary,” Olivia chipped in. “That’s far from it too,” Louise said. “Tell us, please,” Adalyn said. “Make a promise first,” Louise said. “Okay, more rounds of your hobby tonight,” Adalyn said and looked at the reaction on Louise's face. “Wow!! I can’t wait. I have finally bought the land in Government Reserved Area 2,” Louise said. “Oh, my goodness!! I am happy!!” Adalyn said. “I am happier, mum,” Olivia said with a smile. “Adalyn, the land is an upfront gift to you for your forthcoming birthday,” Louise said. “Everything for me?! Take a hug, darling,” Adalyn said, and hugged Louise. “Thank you for all you do, dad,” Olivia said. “Welcome, Olivia; give me a hug too,” Louise said, and hugged Olivia. “Can I see the land document for attestation?” Adalyn said. “Okay, there we go...," Louise said and the trio walked to the master's room. After searching the whole place without getting hold of the land document, Louise became upset. “Who took this land document? I am sure I kept it inside this file,” Louise said, holding an office file. “This is a mystery to me? What’s going on?” Adalyn said. “Dad has a retentive memory, he doesn’t easily forget things. Who could have done this?” Olivia said. “Louise, did anybody enter this house while we were away?” Adalyn said. “I can remember MacPherson. Oh! MacPherson!!” Louise said. “What happened to him?” Adalyn said. “We had a small party to celebrate the land purchase, so he told me that he wanted to visit the toilet; that’s all I can remember because I was drunk,” Louise said. “The MacPherson I know cannot do this,” Adalyn said. “Don’t trust anyone, Mum. Dad, you need to do something very fast,” Olivia said. “Olivia, get me my mobile phone,” Louise said. “Alright, dad,” Olivia said and walked to the sitting room. “I don’t trust MacPherson again these days,” Louise said. “Don’t say that, Louise,” Adalyn said. “Here is the mobile phone, dad,” Olivia said, and handed the mobile phone to her dad. “Hello!! Young man!” Louise said, after he was sure that MacPherson's phone number had gone through. “Hello, sir. You are not in school today; what’s wrong?” MacPherson said. “My wife and daughter just came back from Colorado, so, I have to stay with them,” Louise said. “Alright, professor; send my regards to them,” Louise said. “Did you see any documents in my house? Maybe I placed it carelessly,” Louise said. “Document? No!! What type of document, if I may ask?” MacPherson said. “The land document,” Louise said. “Land document?! I didn’t see anything of such, professor,” MacPherson said. “Hey!! Don’t tell me that!! Do you think I am foolhardy?” Louise said. “I am saying the raw truth, professor. We need to see to sort things out,” MacPherson said. “If you want goodness, return the land document! i***t!!” Louise said and cut the call. “Louise, I could eavesdrop on MacPherson saying he didn’t see the land document; don’t you think we have to trust him?” Adalyn said. “Don’t be crazy, woman,” Louise said with a glare and walked away.
