When Mrs. Anthony reached Evelyn's house. She stopped the car. She carried a basket from the back seat and alighted from the vehicle. She walked towards the direction of Evelyn’s house entrance door and knocked on the door twice. “Landon, are you at home?” Mrs. Anthony said. Landon heard the knocks and Mrs. Anthony’s voice, he placed his comb on the table and walked towards the direction of the entrance door. “I am coming! Hold on!” Landon said when he reached the sitting room. He opened the door and saw Mrs. Anthony, holding a basket with her left hand. “Morning, ma!” Landon said. “Morning, Landon. What kept you so long before opening the door?” Mrs. Anthony said. “I am sorry, ma; I just took my bath and was dressing up when I heard your voice?” Landon said. “I can see that. I hope I didn’t disturb you?” Mrs. Anthony said. “No, ma,” Landon said. “Alright. Take this basket, it’s your breakfast. Please, eat and don’t starve yourself,” Mrs. Anthony said and handed over the basket to Landon. “Thank you, ma,” Landon said. “You are welcome. I am going to the hospital now,” Mrs. Anthony said. “Alright, ma. Send my regards to my parents,” Landon said. “Alright, Dr. Have a nice day!” Mrs. Anthony said. “Okay, ma; and you too,” Landon said. Mrs. Anthony walked to where she parked her car, she opened one of the doors of the car and entered the car. She sat on the front seat, put on her seat belt and drove her car away slowly. Landon closed the door and walked back to his room. He put the basket beside the table, took the comb on the table, combed his hair and wore long trousers. He carried the basket beside the table and walked to the dining room. He removed a covered plate from the basket, he uncovered it and saw beans. He took a spoonful of beans and drank water simultaneously. Mrs. Anthony drove to mountain top specialist hospital. The car hooted and the security guard opened the gate. Mrs. Anthony entered through the gate and parked the car under the tree. She carried a basket from the car and alighted from the car. She walked towards the direction of the door and opened the door. She entered the waiting room and gazed at the patients sitting on long benches. She walked towards the direction of one of the males’ wards. She opened the door and entered the ward. Evelyn saw Mrs. Anthony as she entered the ward. “Mrs. Anthony, are you here again?” Evelyn said. “Good morning, ma,” Mrs. Anthony said as she walked towards the direction of Mason’s bed. “Morning, ma. You left here late yesterday and here you are again. Thank you for standing by me,” Evelyn said with a quavering voice. Mrs. Anthony sat close to her and touched her back. “Evelyn, don’t cry; what are friendships for?” Mrs. Anthony said. “A friend in need is a friend indeed. You have proven to be one,” Evelyn said. “Don’t make me blush,” Mrs. Anthony said. “You can blush if you like; besides, it’s a free world,” Evelyn said, and the duo laughed. “Why are Mason’s eyes closed?” Mrs. Anthony said, after gazing at Mason's face. “He kept late night yesterday. He is trying to make up for the lost sleep,” Evelyn said. “In that case, it’s nice,” Mrs. Anthony said. “Yes, it is! I have good news,” Evelyn said. “A good news? What's that?” Mrs. Anthony said. “Can you guess?” Evelyn said. “No. Please, tell me; I am going out of patience,” Mrs. Anthony said. “It’s okay; I will talk now. The doctor said Mason would be discharged today,” Evelyn said. “Wow! I am happy for Mason; but how about the plaster on his head?” Mrs. Anthony said while gazing at Mason’s head. “It will definitely be removed when the wound has been healed to scar,” Evelyn said. “That’s true. I brought food for you two,” Mrs. Anthony said. “Again? You have done enough,” Evelyn said. “I haven’t done anything. Here is the food,” Mrs. Anthony said and handed over a basket to Evelyn. Evelyn collected the basket and placed it beside the bed. “Thank you,” Evelyn said. “Welcome, ma. I hope you have been sleeping well?” Mrs. Anthony said. “Yes,” Evelyn said. “That’s not true. Your eyes are red; it shows you haven’t been sleeping well. Would you mind going home now while I stay here with Mason?” At least, you will be able to sleep,” Mrs. Anthony said. “No! I would rather stay here. Besides, Mason will be discharged today. I will have a lot of time to sleep when we get home,” Evelyn said. “Alright,” Mrs. Anthony said. “How about Mr. Anthony?” Evelyn said. “He has a tight schedule these days. You know he is a banker. He sent his regards to Mason,” Mrs. Anthony said. “That’s nice of him,” Evelyn said. “Yes, it is. It's as if we have to remain silent while Mason takes his nap,” Mrs. Anthony said. “In that case, let me eat my food,” Evelyn said. She carried the basket beside the bed and brought out two covered plates from the basket. She uncovered them and saw platefuls of beans. She covered one of the plates and returned it back into the basket. She placed the basket beside the bed and ate her food. Mrs. Anthony glimpsed at Evelyn severally as she ate her food.
