Aubrey carried her bag and both mother and child alighted from the car. They walked closer to the building. On the wall of the building was the inscription “Harvest Grocery Store." Harvest grocery store was surrounded by a few trees, many ornamental crops and other shops. Aubrey and Sadie reached the grocery store's entrance, they opened the door and entered the store. They could see basketfuls of onions, basketfuls of tomatoes and peppers, bowlfuls of rice and beans, glassfuls of salt, spinach, water leaves and other vegetables. They carried a trolley and moved towards the onion sections. They put some onions inside the trolley and moved to the peppers and tomatoes section. They put some peppers and tomatoes inside their trolley and moved to the fruit sections; they put varieties of fruits inside their trolley and moved to the spinach section. They put some spinaches inside their trolley. However, after about 13 minutes of shopping, Aubrey and Sadie walked to one of the cashiers. The cashier counted the items they bought simultaneously. “Your money is 150 USD!” the cashier said. Aubrey removed her purse from her bag, she counted 150 USD and handed it over to the cashier. “Thank you very much!” the cashier said. “You are welcome,” Aubrey said. “Feel free to come here another day; we offer the best service,” the cashier said. “Alright. Please, pack these items for us,” Aubrey said. “It’s okay,” the cashier said. She removed two white polythene bags and put the items inside them. Aubrey collected one polythene bag from the cashier while Sadie collected the other. They walked towards the direction of the door and opened it. They walked to where they parked their car, holding polythene bags in their hands. When they reached where their car was parked, they entered the car and wore seat belts. Sadie sat close to Aubrey on the front seat and Aubrey started the car. She controlled the car and the car moved away from the store's vicinity. “Mummy, the music contest is three days to go,” Sadie said when they had driven for about 5 minutes. “Are you serious?” Aubrey said and glimpsed at Sadie. She focused on the steering wheel afterwards. “Yes, mum. I am curious already,” Sadie said exuberantly. “Well, I hope you win in grand styles; I guess you have been rehearsing well?” Aubrey said. “Yes, mum; as if you don’t know me again,” Sadie said. “Well, I do,” Aubrey said, and the duo laughed. “Mum, I need clothes for the contest,” Sadie said. “Clothes? What of the clothes you have?” Aubrey said. “I don’t have a blue shirt. Besides, I want to appear beautifully in the contest. You know dressing could also make one come out successfully in a contest,” Sadie said. “You are right, though it is not always true,” Aubrey said. “Anyhow, mum. I need a blue shirt, a black skirt and a pair of black shoes,” Sadie said. “I have spent the money on me now. You can tell your dad when we get home,” Aubrey said. “Alright, mum. I need to make all these things available tomorrow,” Sadie said. “Then I will take you to the plaza tomorrow; are you happy with that?” Aubrey said. “Why not, mum? I am very happy,” Sadie said. “Conversion closed. I need to focus my attention on this steering wheel and need not to be given diverted attention,” Aubrey said. “Alright, mum,” Sadie said. Aubrey continued driving the car. They overtook many vehicles on the roads and maneuvered into the traffic jam. The car hooted severely when they reached the front of their house. Aubrey stopped the car and Sadie carried the two polythene bags with their contents. Ethan could hear the car hoots, he left the sitting room and walked towards the direction of the entrance door. When he opened the door, he could see Aubrey and Sadie some distance away from the entrance. “Welcome, mum; welcome, sister Sadie. I missed you two,” Ethan said, and collected Aubrey’s bag. “We have missed you too,” Aubrey said. “Alright, mum. Sister Sadie, you are not talking; what happened? Did mum chide you on your way coming back home?” Ethan said as they walked into the sitting room. “No, mum didn’t chide me. I am only reminiscing and rehearsing some songs. You know the music contest is just three days to go,” Sadie said. “I have even forgotten. I wish you the very best, sister Sadie,” Ethan said. “Thank you, juvenile,” Sadie said. “You are welcome, sister Sadie,” Ethan said, and sat close to Sadie on the couch. “Where are Davies and co?” Aubrey said. “I don’t know where they are. Besides, they often go out without my consent,” Ethan said. “Where can these children be?” Aubrey said. “Who knows?” Sadie said. “Sadie, let’s go to the kitchen; we need to prepare something for everyone to eat,” Aubrey said and stood up. “Alright, mum,” Sadie said. Sadie carried the polythene bags and mother and child walked to the kitchen. Ethan walked towards the direction of the television, he turned on the television and other electronics. He carried the remote and walked back to his seat. He used the remote to search for channels on the television and finally acceded to children’s arena TV. He increased the volume of the television and dropped the remote on the table. He gazed at what was being displayed on television and didn’t allow his attention to be diverted. Sadie washed the pot, plates and other cutlery. She also washed the onions, spinach, peppers and sundries. She carried a knife and cut the spinach and onions into reasonable sizes. Aubrey put the onions, tomatoes and peppers inside an electric blender and ground the mixture. Mother and child start the cooking after ensuring that all the appliances and spices are put in place. Davies and Liam left their room and walked to the sitting room. They sat down on a couch and watched the animated film displayed on the television screen. Ethan glimpsed Davies and Liam as they walked to the sitting room and gazed at the television. “Sadie, go to the sitting room and carry my bag. Take it to my room,” Aubrey said as she was adding salt to her soup. “Alright, mum,” Sadie said. Sadie walked to the sitting room and saw the juveniles who formed a colony around the television. She glimpsed at the television screen. “Davies and Liam, you are back!” Sadie said. “Welcome, sister Sadie,” Davies and Liam said. “Where did you go to?” Sadie said and carried the bag on the table. She also adjusted the remote placed on the table so that it would not fall on the ground. “We have been inside since morning, we haven’t gone anywhere,” Davies said. “Are you serious?” Sadie said. “Yes, sister Sadie; Davies is right,” Liam said. “Ethan, but you said you didn’t know where these two fellows went to,” Sadie said. “Yes, I don’t,” Ethan said, gazing at the television. “That’s a lie, Ethan!” Liam said. “Hey! Who called you? Besides, I didn’t summon you to the sitting room,” Ethan said and grimaced. “Stop that, Ethan; you need to be courteous and respectful these days,” Sadie said. “Sister Sadie, you are being partial these days,” Ethan said, he hissed and walked away. “Come back here, youngster!” Sadie said. “Big sis, leave him alone; he can go to hell for all we care,” Davies said. “What’s wrong with you, Davies? I think it’s high time I disclosed everything going on between you two and Ethan to Mum. You trio should have a rapport and not a dispute,” Sadie said, and walked away. “Are you upset, sister Sadie?” Liam said. “Leave her alone, let her go. I don’t know why Ethan is so pompous; I will teach him some lessons these days,” Davies said. “I am happy that you now understand what I have been saying. Well, let’s forget about Ethan and concentrate on the film,” Liam said. “You are right, Liam,” Davies said and smiled. Sadie walked to Aubrey’s room. She placed the bag on the cabinet and walked out of the room. She walked to the kitchen and saw her mum still preparing the meal. “Well done, mum,” Sadie said. “Thanks, Sadie. I could hear voices from the sitting room. What was going on?” Aubrey said. “Nothing serious, mum,” Sadie said. “It’s okay. Are Davies and Liam back?” Aubrey said. “Yes, they are back!” Sadie said. “Alright,” Aubrey said and carried a hot pot away from the kindled fire. She placed the hot potful of soup on a long table. “Mum, I need to tell you something after we've eaten,” Sadie said. “It's okay. Get me a little ground wheat from the sack,” Aubrey said as she was placing a potful of water on the fire. “Alright, mum,” Sadie said. Sadie took a bowl and walked in the direction of the sack. She put a little ground wheat into the bowl and walked back to meet Aubrey. “Here is it, mum,” Sadie said, and put the bowlful of ground wheat on the table. “It’s okay,” Aubrey said.
