He got out of the car, spat and walked into the building. When he entered the uncompleted building, he couldn’t find anyone. “Where could these guys be? But Charles asked me to come here; what’s going on?” professor MacPherson muttered. Professor MacPherson dialed Charles’ phone number, but it was not reachable. He walked to his car and drove to Charles' house. He soon arrived at Charles's house. He parked at the front of the house and walked to the door. He knocked on the door gently. “Hello!! Is anyone at home?” professor MacPherson said. “Hold on, I am coming,” Margaret said. Margaret left the American love film she was watching on the television and walked to the door. She opened the door. “Good morning, sir,” Margaret said. “Morning, young lady,” professor MacPherson said. “I don’t know this face, sir. Do you know someone here?” Margaret said. “Sure! Where is your dad?” professor MacPherson said. “My dad?!” Margaret said. “Yeah! Where is Charles?” professor MacPherson said. “Oh! Mr. Charles is my aunt’s husband? Margaret said. “Alright…, I am sorry for that. Where is he?” professor MacPherson said. “He has travelled, sir,” Margaret said. “Travelled?!” professor MacPherson said. “Yes, sir. He went in the company of some friends,” Margaret said. “Some friends…, it’s alright. How about Peyton?” professor MacPherson said. “Mrs. Peyton went out with my cousin. They should be on their way now,” Margaret said. “Alright,” professor MacPherson said. “Do you want to wait for her?” Margaret said. “No! I am already late for work. Send my regards to her when she comes back,” professor MacPherson said. “Alright, sir,” Margaret said. Professor MacPherson walked to his car, he entered the car and drove away. Margaret, on the other hand, trailed the car as it disappeared into the thin air. She closed the door and walked back into the sitting room. She quickly increased the volume of the television and continued watching the film. About 30 minutes later, Peyton and Luca walked to the house. Peyton knocked on the door hard. “Margaret!! Can’t you hear me knock?!” Margaret said angrily. Margaret was so engrossed in the film she was watching that she didn’t hear Peyton's voice. Peyton moved to one of the windows and adjusted the curtain to one side. “Margaret!! Are you mad?!” Peyton said. Margaret could hear Peyton’s voice now. She quickly walked to the door and opened it. As soon as she opened the door, Peyton gave her a slap. Margaret couldn’t hold the tears running down her face. Peyton sat on a couch, took the remote and muted the voice of the television. “Luca, take this bag to my room,” Peyton said. “Alright, mum,” Luca said. Luca carried the bag from the terrazzo floor and walked to Peyton’s room. “Hey!! Come here!” Peyton said. Margaret angrily dragged herself in Peyton’s direction. She stood in Peyton’s front and bowed her head. “Margaret, raise your head,” Peyton said. Margaret raised her head but couldn’t look at Peyton’s face; instead, she gazed at Peyton’s clothes. “I told you to tidy up the whole room and the surroundings before I went out, but you refused. The worst of it, I stood outside calling your name, but this television couldn’t allow you to hear me call you. You are still young for all this you are doing,” Peyton said. “I am sorry, aunt,” Margaret said. “Sorry for yourself. With the little time you will be spending with me in this house, you need to be cautioned. You are not in your house, so you can’t behave anyhow. Do you hear me?” Peyton said. “Yes, aunt,” Margaret said grimly. “Good. Now, switch off the television and start cleaning the rooms,” Peyton said. “Alright, aunt. A man came here not quite long ago,” Margaret said. “A man?!” Peyton said. “Yes, aunt; a well-dressed man. He said he was looking for Mr. Charles,” Margaret said. “Did he tell you his name?” Peyton said. “No, he didn’t; I forgot to ask,” Margaret said. “I think that’s professor MacPherson. Do what I asked you to do now,” Peyton said. “Alright, aunt,” Margaret said. Margaret walked to the television, she switched it off. She carried appliances and started cleaning the rooms. “Luca!! What are you still doing?!” Peyton said. “I am coming! Mum!” Luca said. Luca walked to the sitting room, he stood in front of Peyton and gazed at Peyton’s face. “What kept you so long?” Peyton said. “I was looking at an album in your room,” Luca said. “Alright. You need to eat now so that you can use your drugs,” Peyton said. “Alright, mum,” Luca said. Peyton held Lucas’s left hand and they moved to the dining table. Luca sat on a chair while Peyton walked to the kitchen. She dished out a little food on the plate from the pot, carried a spoon and walked back to the dining room. Peyton walked to the sitting room, she took her phone from the center table and sat on a couch. She hurriedly searched for Charles’ phone number and dialed it. She tried the first time, but the phone was busy. The second attempt, the phone was not reachable, then on the third attempt, Charles finally answered the call. “Hello!! Charles!!” Peyton said. “Peyton! How are you?” Charles said. “I am fine. Is anything the problem?” Charles said. “Professor MacPherson was here hours ago,” Peyton said. “Really? We shall be in California in three days' time. Tell him to wait till then,” Charles said. “Alright; can you forward his phone number?” Peyton said. “Okay, I will do that as soon as I drop this call. How are Margaret and Luca?” Charles said. “Margaret is fine; Luca has been very sick for days,” Peyton said. “Oh! My God! What's the nature of his sickness?” Charles said. “We were at the outpatients’ clinic; the clinician said he was suffering from malaria,” Peyton said. “Malaria?! This is strange. I hope he is getting better now?” Charles said. “Yes, he is. He has been on medication since,” Peyton said. “Alright; send my regards to the youngster,” Charles said. “Alright, I will. We shall be expecting you,” Peyton said. “I won’t disappoint you. I want to join my colleagues at the seminar now,” Charles said. “Goodbye,” Peyton said. Jeremy and the other gangsters could eavesdrop on Charles’ conversations with his wife. They looked at one another and laughed. “Boss, did you just say you were at a seminar?” Jeremy said. “Yes, of course,” Charles said. “Well, this is our seminar where we learn more strategies,” Dickson said, and everyone laughed. “You can say that again. My wife said Professor MacPherson was at my house in California,” Charles said. “I guess he needs feedback,” Logan said. “You are right. We need to get his wife back for him by all means,” Charles said. “But we don’t know his wife’s hideout,” Dickson said. “We will get her by all means. Logan, give me my phone; I want to forward professor MacPherson’s phone number to my wife,” Charles said. Logan gave Charles his phone. Charles searched for professor MacPherson’s phone number and forwarded it to Peyton. “We shall check out of this hotel in three days' time. So, let’s execute all our plans very fast,” Charles said. “Alright, boss,” the gangsters said. “Jeremy, check the menu; what food is on the list?” Charles said. “It's tea and bread,” Jeremy said. “That’s good,” Charles said. “Where shall we go this night?” Dickson said. “We shall go to the mall located beside Jerry-best clinic. I think Beauty mall is written on the mall signboard,” Charles said. “I think I know it. The mall has several shops, including a medicine store,” Logan said. “You are right. Dickson, tell the attendant that we need our food now,” Charles said. “Alright, boss,” Dickson said. Dickson walked out of the room. Soon, the attendant came in with a tray containing cups, spoons, beverages, sliced bread and a jug of hot water. The attendant placed the tray on a small table beside the bed. “Hi! Guys! You can eat your food now,” the attendant said. “Thank you!” the gangsters said. The attendant walked out of the room after she was sure that the gangsters were satisfied with the food. “That lady looks beautiful!” Jeremy said. “She is truly beautiful and respectful,” Logan said. “You should all get that lady for me,” Charles said. “Boss, I saw the lady first,” Jeremy said. “Charles has spoken. Make the tea now,” Charles said. Dickson emptied the beverages into the cups, he gave everyone pieces of sliced bread and the gangsters consumed the food slowly.
