King Rehoboth had rounded the palace five times before Amelia knocked on the gate. “Hold on!” Xavier said. Xavier walked to the gate and opened it. He asked who Amelia was. “Who are you, please?” Xavier said. “I should be the one to ask who you are. This is my son-in-law's residence. I want to see him,” Amelia said. “The king?!” Xavier said. “Yes, of course; or do you have other reasonable people in this palace?” Amelia said. “Watch your words, woman,” Xavier said angrily. “Hey…, you are blocking my way; let me pass,” Amelia said. Xavier didn’t allow Amelia to enter. Amelia started shouting and drew the attention of King Rehoboth. King Rehoboth and Dean walked to the front of the palace and could recognize Amelia from afar. “Dean, tell Xavier to leave Amelia alone,” King Rehoboth said. “Alright, my king,” Dean said. Dean walked to the gate and delivered King Rehoboth’s message to Xavier. Xavier had no option than to let Amelia enter through the gate. “The king said you should let this woman be,” Dean said. “Alright, boss,” Xavier said. Dean and Amelia walked to the king, who had been carried away by his thoughts. “My king!” Dean said and tapped the king. “I’m sorry; I have been carried away by my own thoughts,” King Rehoboth said. “Greetings, my king,” Amelia said. “May our ancestors be with you always,” king Rehoboth said. “My king, I have some vital things to say; can we go in for discussions?” Amelia said. “What’s so important that we cannot discuss here? Speak!” King Rehoboth said. “As my king pleases. My king, my daughter, has been very sad for days; she has not been eating well. What has she done, my king?” Amelia said. King Rehoboth looked at Amelia and refused to talk; instead, he frowned and hit his office staff twice on the interlocked ground. Dean could easily grab the reasons behind the king’s actions. “My king, you are not talking,” Amelia said. “What do you want me to say? If I had known you had come here for the gibberish, I wouldn’t have allowed you in,” King Rehoboth said and grimaced. “Thank you for letting me in, my king. Give me the respect of an ex-mother in-law and talk. I don’t mean to make you garrulous,” Amelia said. “Well, your daughter is nefarious-natured, untrained and jealous. I think you have to go and instill some virtues into her,” King Rehoboth said. “That’s an insult!” Amelia said. “How can I insult you, my mother-in-law? I have only told you the bitter truth,” King Rehoboth said. “I respect the crown on your head; don’t let me be mad at you,” Amelia said. “You are mad!! Dean, What are you waiting for?! Take this thing away!” King Rehoboth said. “Leave me alone!!” Amelia said. Dean dragged Amelia away from the palace and returned to the king. “What an insult to a monarch! Dean, I don’t want to see that thing and her daughter in this place again. Do you hear me?” King Rehoboth said. “Okay, my king,” Dean said. “I have had enough exercise for the day,” King Rehoboth said. “Yes, my king; you have exercised well,” Dean said. King Rehoboth and Dean left the palace frontage. The king walked to the bedroom while the Dean walked to the inner chamber. With intense anger, Amelia opened the gate and walked to the sitting room. She refused to answer everyone who greeted her on her way back home. She looked everywhere and then sat down on a couch with her head bowed. “Mum, you are back. I never knew you were back,” queen Mackenzie said. Amelia looked at Queen Mackenzie and refused to talk to her; instead, she gazed at the door. “Mum, what happened? You look upset. Did you have an ordeal with the king?” queen Mackenzie said. “King Rehoboth insulted me in his words and actions and you caused this,” Amelia said. “I am perplexed, mum. Could you please, beam more light?” queen Mackenzie said. “Well, the king said I didn’t train you very well. He also said you are nefarious-natured, jealous and… I have forgotten,” Amelia said. “He is crazy. Rehoboth, you don’t want a soft reconciliation, right?” queen Mackenzie said rhetorically. “Rehoboth disregarded me. He told his guard to drag me out of his place. Oh! What a disgrace!” Amelia said. “That’s abominable! How could he do that?” Queen Mackenzie said and stood up to go. “Where are you going to?” Amelia said. “I am going to the rude king's palace; I want to challenge him,” queen Mackenzie said. “You don’t have to do that now; he will strangle you,” Amelia said. “Mum, let me go. How could the king talk rudely to my treasured mum?” queen Mackenzie said. Amelia stood up and gripped queen Mackenzie’s right hand. “You don’t have to do that now. You might be killed and remember you are my only child,” Amelia said grimly. “Mummy, let me go; I can’t take the king’s actions anymore,” queen Mackenzie said. “No!! Please, sit down,” Amelia said. After several persuasions, queen Mackenzie finally agreed to sit down. She sat down beside Amelia. “Mum, I am sorry for what I put you through,” queen Mackenzie said. “You haven’t put me through anything,” Amelia said. “I have put you through so many things, mum,” queen Mackenzie said. “My queen! Stand up!” Amelia said and raised queen Mackenzie up. “Mum, have you forgiven me?” queen Mackenzie said. “Alright, I have forgiven you. But again, you didn’t offend me,” Amelia said. “Thanks for forgiving me, mum,” queen Mackenzie said. “You are welcome,” Amelia said. “Will you mind a cup of water?” queen Mackenzie said. “No, I won’t mind. I am thirsty,” Amelia said. “Just a minute, mum,” queen Mackenzie said. “I will show Rehoboth the braveness of a woman. He cannot go scot-free,” queen Mackenzie muttered as she walked to the kitchen. Queen Mackenzie entered the kitchen, she carried a cup, rinsed it and put a little water inside it. She then walked back to the sitting room.
