Priston POV
I just woke up just to feel my hand intertwined with someone else's hands. " Where am I ? Who is she...." I couldn't finish up asking myself after remembering what happened last night.
" Did I kiss her?. Damn it." Priston told him.
Instead of rising up, I just noticed that my hand stretched to the lady's face. I then removed some of the hair on her face just to take a look at her.
"She's so beautiful. But what can I do about it? The fact that she's in sleep, I can't just wake her up yet." Priston thought.
My eyes met her lips and the flashback of the kiss was fresh again in my mind.
'Priston, what's wrong with you? Don't tell me you ju....?
No I can't do that for goodness’s sake.' Priston told himself.
I was about to take my hands off when she finally raised up her sleepy face .
"Oh, finally you woke up sir.“ Ann said.
" What a displeasant apartment," Priston told her rudely.
" What did you just say sir? Then I hope you found someone else to help you last night." Ann asked.
" Excuse me young lady, we don't know each other, and you have no right to speak to me in that way. In fact, mention your price." Priston roared.
" Do you think I helped just because your wealthy and I need your damn money? Do you think I'm so cheap?" Ann asked him angrily.
'This man is so full of himself '. Ann murmured.
Ann looked at him angrily and their eyes met. He stared at her like someone grasping the image in her face. Suddenly, he woke up from the coach. "Argh!!." Priston complained due to the slight pain in his shoulder.
'That's what you get after speaking to me rudely' I told myself while smiling.
" I need you tomorrow at the office at exactly 8 am in my office. And wear something official. " Priston ordered her.
" What's that all about?" I asked.
" Well, I'm offering you a job as my appreciation for helping me," he said.
He then took out his phone, dialed a number and opened the door to leave. Just as he was about to lock the door, he winked at me and shut the door.
'Gosh what was all that about ' I told myself.
I stood there, stunned by the turn of events. ‘What just happened?’ she wondered, her mind racing with questions about
this enigmatic man and the unexpected job offer
Ann stood in her small apartment, her mind swirling with the events of the morning. She couldn’t believe the audacity of Priston, the man she had helped the previous night. Offering her a job as a form of gratitude? It felt more like a command than an offer. She sighed, knowing she had to tell her best friend Minah about this bizarre encounter, but she hesitated. Minah was always so protective of her, and Ann wasn’t sure how she would react.
Later that evening, Ann sat on her bed, her phone in hand, debating whether to call Minah. She knew she couldn’t keep this from her best friend, but the thought of recounting the morning’s events made her uneasy. Finally, she took a deep breath and dialed Minah’s number.
“Hey, Ann! What’s up?” Minah’s cheerful voice came through the phone.
“Hey, Minah. I need to talk to you about something that happened last night,” Ann began, her voice trembling slightly.
“Sure, what is it?” Minah asked, her tone shifting to concern.
Ann took a deep breath and started to narrate the events. “So, last night, I met this guy at the bar. He seemed really out of it, and I couldn’t just leave him there. I brought him back to my place to make sure he was okay.”
Minah listened intently as Ann continued, “This morning, he woke up and was really rude to me. He even offered me money, thinking I helped him because he’s wealthy. I was so angry, Minah. But then, out of nowhere, he offered me a job as a way to thank me.”
Minah was silent for a moment before responding, “Wow, Ann. That’s… a lot to take in. Are you okay?”
“Yeah, I’m fine. Just confused and a bit overwhelmed,” Ann admitted.
“Do you think you’ll take the job?” Minah asked.
“I don’t know. It feels weird, but at the same time, it could be a good opportunity,” Ann said, her voice filled with uncertainty.
Minah sighed. “Well, whatever you decide, I’m here for you. Just be careful, okay?”
“Thanks, Minah. I appreciate it,” Ann replied, feeling a bit more at ease.
“By the way, I have something to tell you too,” Minah said, her voice suddenly excited.
“Oh? What happened?” Ann asked, curious.
“Remember the guy I was talking to at the bar last night? Well, we hit it off, and he asked me out on a date!” Minah exclaimed.
“Really? That’s great, Minah! Tell me everything,” Ann said, eager to hear about her friend’s new romance.
Minah laughed. “Okay, so after you left with that guy, I stayed at the bar for a bit. This guy, his name is Jake, came over and started talking to me. We had a great conversation, and he seemed really nice. We ended up dancing and having a lot of fun. By the end of the night, he asked for my number and said he wanted to take me out.”
“Wow, that sounds amazing! I’m so happy for you,” Ann said, genuinely thrilled for her friend.
“Thanks, Ann. I can’t wait to see where this goes,” Minah said, her excitement palpable.
As they continued to chat, Ann felt a sense of relief. Sharing her experience with Minah had lifted a weight off her shoulders, and hearing about Minah’s new romance brought a smile to her face. Despite the uncertainty of her own situation, Ann knew she had the support of her best friend, and that made all the difference.
