In the high-stakes world of corporate power and family betrayal, young CEO Priston finds himself constantly on guard. After inheriting his father's company at a young age, he becomes the target of his uncle Alex's sinister plots. Determined to prove his strength and independence, Priston refuses to rely on bodyguards, trusting his own skills in Kung Fu.

One evening, seeking a moment of peace, Priston heads to his favorite club, X Club, to meet his old friend Fredrick, a successful lawyer. However, the night takes a dangerous turn when Priston is ambushed by gangsters sent by his uncle. In a desperate escape, he encounters a mysterious woman, Ann, who becomes an unexpected ally.

Priston wakes up in an unfamiliar apartment, his hand intertwined with Ann's. As memories of the previous night flood back, he realizes he kissed her. Despite his initial rudeness and attempts to distance himself, Priston can't ignore the attraction he feels towards Ann. Ann, unimpressed by his wealth and arrogance, stands her ground, leading to a tense but intriguing exchange.

Priston offers Ann a job as a token of gratitude for her help, leaving her puzzled and curious about his intentions. Meanwhile, Priston grapples with his unexpected feelings for Ann, questioning his own emotions and the impact she has on him. Determined to learn more about her, he instructs his assistant to gather information on Ann.

As Priston returns to his apartment, he is haunted by thoughts of Ann and the kiss they shared. His internal conflict intensifies, revealing a side of him that is vulnerable and yearning for connection. This chapter delves into the complexities of their budding relationship, setting the stage for further developments and challenges ahead.

However, the plot thickens with the reappearance of Janet, Priston's former lover. Janet is determined to win Priston back, believing that their past connection is far from over. She uses every trick in the book to rekindle their romance, from showing up unannounced at his office to orchestrating "chance" encounters. Janet's persistence adds another layer of tension to Priston's already complicated life.

Caught between his growing feelings for Ann and Janet's relentless pursuit, Priston finds himself in a tumultuous love triangle. Janet's manipulative tactics and Ann's genuine care for him pull Priston in different directions, leaving him torn and confused. The stakes are raised as Priston must navigate his emotions while dealing with his uncle's ongoing threats.

As Priston delves deeper into his uncle's schemes, he uncovers shocking truths about his family's past. The betrayal runs deeper than he ever imagined, and he realizes that his father's death might not have been an accident. With Fredrick's help, Priston begins to piece together the puzzle, but the closer he gets to the truth, the more dangerous his situation becomes.

In a climactic confrontation, Priston faces his uncle Alex, determined to put an end to his treachery once and for all. The encounter is intense and fraught with peril, leaving Priston's fate hanging in the balance. Meanwhile, Ann and Janet's rivalry reaches a boiling point, with both women vying for Priston's heart.

As the story unfolds, Priston's world teeters on the edge of chaos. Will he be able to outsmart his uncle and protect his legacy? Will he find true love with Ann, or will Janet's persistence win him back? The answers lie in the shadows of betrayal, where nothing is as it seems. The suspense bui

Navigating the Job Hunt: Ann’s Journey Begins
I’m so exhausted after looking at the multiple email messages on my phone. After trying to get a job to cater to my needs, at least to be sure after working for a few months and investing in what I want to do. “Ann, you’re still comfortable here in bed. Wake that ass babe!!” Minah shouted at me. Well, I’m already used to her shootings by now after leaving her for almost 2 years after my graduation. Honestly, she’s the best friend I have. Did I tell you that there are times we always fight each other due to some pity issues and the one to win is always me? For real, we are just like siblings. “I’m just tired of all these responses. Why do you know they keep on replying sorry you don’t qualify for the position you applied and bla bla bla”. “But, bestie, you should not give up. Okay, then I got another advert here. You should try it out bestie”. She insisted “Okay Minah” I replied just to ease her mind, even though I knew what might happen next. “Have you heard anything from Priston Limited Company?”, she asked. “Well, I guess he’s off limits nowadays, since he departed a long time ago, and it’s been seven years now. Finally, he’s back in the city”. “Minah, can you stop ogling him, besides I know he got his fiancé maybe’, I responded, knowing the fact that I hated it when she started talking about the so-called ruthless CEO of the city. The fact that I know he’s the top handsome man in the city and top in the business industry. “You should keep on checking out the website of the company. I heard that the current secretary has been fired, so there’s a vacancy that’s yet to be announced, baby girl”, Minah said, rolling her eyes. ‘Oops, this has been her habit. Wouldn’t she just change for goodness’ sake after having four heartbreaks? Such stupid relationships and love stories.’ ‘I think I haven’t told you my love story yet because I got none. I bet you won’t believe that I haven’t dated anyone yet.’ Ding! I guess that’s another damn notification. Here we go for another job heartbreak. ‘Won’t you call to say hi to your parents’ young lady. It’s been three weeks, Ann, and you haven’t called. Now this got me off guard. Damn, I haven’t spoken to them seriously. I should make a call and maybe come up with multiple excuses. I guess I can’t overcome Ms. Excuse me. 'I knew she would keep insisting that I should go back home. What the hell is wrong with my parents? I only left two years ago. That doesn't mean I went forever nkt!' I'm trying to get a job so that I can cater for myself. Besides, I have a lot of deeds I need to do, so I can't go home yet. "Are you still listening to me Ann?". Mom asked. "Yes mom I'm listening, but kindly I can't come home this weekend. I have to prepare for my interview next week on Monday." Of course, I'm madam, excuse that's what I keep on telling her and boom. " Okay just make sure to keep in touch okay. " She hung up. That was so close today. Mind if I tell you I got no interview next hahaha just so many negative responses. The next morning, I just got up due to Minah's shouting. "Bestie, I told you that the best company in the city will open a vacancy for the secretary. Wake up bitch." "What did you just call me ?" I just asked her after throwing a pillow at her face. Seriously waking me up just because of the damn position? Couldn't it wait at least? Anyway, better to listen than wait for her to attack me with her words this morning. " So where is the advert then?" I asked. "Check it out online on their website, of course. I bet there will be a lot of ladies to apply. Who will not want to miss the opportunity to be near the handsome CEO?". " I bet they wish they would. " I murmured. " So what are you thinking, bestie, you should try it out? " " So that calls for a celebration tonight," Minah suggested. " You're kidding, right? Because I haven't applied yet, and you're asking for a celebration?". I asked " Bestie, I was just suggesting, besides we haven't gone to our favorite restaurant for two weeks ". She responded. " Baby girl asked, please can we do so tonight kindly." She asked, winking her eyes at me. " Alright then, only if it is on you." I accepted, shrugging." But allow me to apply first, then we shall head out." " Oh yes !! Bestie, you're the best." I sat down with my laptop, staring on the job advert on the Priston Limited Company website. The position seemed perfect, but the thought of working under that ruthless CEO made me hesitate. Still, I couldn’t let fear hold me back. I started updating my resume and drafting a cover letter, pouring all my hopes and determination into it. As I worked, I couldn’t help but think about my parents and the projects that I wanted to invest in. That evening, Minah and I went to our favorite restaurant. The familiar ambiance and delicious food were a welcome distraction. We laughed and talked about everything except job hunting and CEOs. For a few hours, I felt like my old self again, carefree and hopeful. I assured myself that when I got home, I would check my email one last time before bed. No new responses, but I didn’t let it get me down. Tomorrow was a new day, and I had a new opportunity to pursue it. With Minah’s support and my determination, I knew I could face whatever challenges came my way.
