Chapter 5 Dean

To say I was surprised was an understatement. I felt the pain and then saw everything from Scarletts' point of view. She was standing in the kitchen, making food for the whole pack. Only one other omega is helping her. All of a sudden, she was whipped. I groaned in pain, going through it with her all over again. This was the night I found her. She didn't flinch at all, though I knew it hurt her. She hadn't done anything wrong, and I'm sure this happened to her more than she could count.
"YOU STUPID CUN*T YOU BURNT THE FOOD!"
That's all I heard. After she was done and the food was all eaten with no burnt food, I watched in horror as she went to her room, which was in the basement under the stairs. She peeled her shirt off of her, and the fresh wounds were oozing blood. I had to turn away. I was shaking from anger, and the dull ache in my back was there again.
We were jerked back to the present, and everyone was staring at Scarlett, who was about to pass out. I ran up to her and caught her in my arms.
"Chase, get us out of here before I kill all of them for torturing, my mate." I said to him very calmly, and it was scary how calm I was.
"Yes, Alpha Dean Alex is out front in the Mustang waiting for you. Should I make a call to the elders to report this pack?" He asked me
"Yes we will also be making that call on our way back," I looked at the alpha and added "I will also be declaring your pack an enemy to my pack and whatever treaty or alliance we had is null and void."
He looked at me, shocked. He did not expect me to say that.
"ALPHA DEAN! You can't expect us to survive a war with you. All over a pack house slave."
"She is my mate and future Luna. Also, she seems to be blessed by the moon goddess. She will be respected, I will find out how long you have abused her and when I do you will regret it." I said to the stunned Alpha and walked out with Scarlett in my arms.
I was seething in anger, and Silget was so close to the surface, but I couldn't let him out now with Scarlett in such a state.
This pack was gonna pay for everything they put her through. I laid her down in the backseat and lifted her head up so she could lay her head in my lap, and I also couldn't be away from her.
"Alpha......is she gonna be OK?" Chase asked me
"I think she exhausted herself. I will get the doctor to check her out when we get back to our pack." I told him a little bit worried about my tiny mate.
We rode in silence for most of the way home, only stopping for a bathroom break and snacks. I was ready to get Scarlett checked out. She was still passed out, and it had been 2 hours since the event, but we were only about 10 minutes away from the pack my home.
She has only stirred once, but I think it was because she was having a nightmare.
We pulled up to the packhouse, and Chase came around and opened my door for me. I lifted Scarlett up and got out of the car. I went straight up to my room, which is now ours. She was still in her dress and I knew she couldn't sleep like that but I didn't want to undress her without her permission.
"Riley, can you help me?" I mindlinked my sister to see if she would help me.
"What is it? I'm kinda busy." She mindlinked back.
"I just need you to undress my mate and put her in one of my t-shirts while she sleeps, please. I don't ask you for much." I asked her nicely.
"I'll be there in a minute." she mindlinked me back.
True to her word, she was there within a min. I lay Scarlett down on the bed and got Riley one of my t-shirts for her to put her in. I went into the bathroom and took a cold shower to try to calm my nerves and anger. She must've gone through so much, and I couldn't help her. If I had just looked for her sooner, maybe she wouldn't have had to go through all that, and she wouldn't have so many nightmares.
"Hey, Bub, she is dressed, but maybe tomorrow morning you should take her to the pack hospital she has wounds on her back that need redress, and probably, some antibiotics so she doesn't get an infection. I'm not gonna lie to you. I'm glad you didn't do it she is in bad shape." she mindlinked me as I got out of the shower.
"I'll take her now if I need to." I mindlinked back.
"That would probably be best or get the doctor to come here."
"I'll call the doctor here." I mindlinked her after getting into my sweats and walking out the bathroom door.
"Bub, I've already called him for you. You look exhausted. What happened and what's her name?"
"Riley, give me a minute, and I'll explain everything ok. I just need to gather my thoughts." I said to her and sat down in my chair next to the bed closest to Scarlett.
"When will the doctor be here?" I asked her.
"Soon, she had a patient with her when I called her."
"OK, can you get me some water, please? I don't want to leave her." I asked my sister.
"Yeah, I'll get some for you. I'll be right back."
"Thanks, sis."
I sat there and held her hand, she was so beautiful I couldn't even think about hurting her. I was gonna kill everyone who hurt her. That was my silent promise.
