I stood by the opened door for longer than I actually knew, just blankly staring straight ahead into the bedroom. There was an old box tv in the furthest corner of the room that displayed an ongoing soapie in black and white, very unconventional for the current time period. A rotary phone was built into the wall right above the radio that was blaring a daytime talk down. It prompted me to rush into the room and turn down the volume of the radio before walking over to turn off the TV. There was a bed covered in cream satin sheets that was made so smoothly and perfectly that there was not even a single wrinkle in sight.
