Vanessa"s face was the picture of annoyance. Not that it was all that different from her normal face, which Ethan liked to think of as mildly irritated. Normally, he was fine hanging out with V while Courtney did whatever it was she did to get ready. But normally it wasn"t this awkward.
“So. How are classes so far?” Ethan tapped his fingers on their coffee table as he spoke. Vanessa started back to school the previous week, and Luke had gone back to Bowling Green, no doubt adding to her stressed-out demeanor.
“Just dandy.” The tension was just getting ridiculous. Ethan pulled out his phone, fully intending to put in his ear-buds while he waited, but decided to shoot off a text to Luke to make him aware of his girlfriend"s unpleasantness.
