Chapter 8: Twisted Games (2)

(Maria POV) “I knew the truth from the start. I was just avoiding it before things turned ugly for you, but I can’t help you anymore,” I looked towards the doctor. “W-what do you mean, Doctor?” I asked, and he came towards me with a guinea pig in his hands. “Nothing, Luna! I was just talking to Astro. He loves to sneak in here and ruin my medicine. I didn’t inform the Alphas about it, but I think I have to inform him now,” He said, and after a few minutes, a girl entered in the room. She was around 10, and her big brown eyes searched for something. “Grandpa! Have you seen Astro?” She asked and then noticed me. She has really beautiful, dark blonde hair tied in two ponytails. “Oh, I am sorry, Luna. I didn’t see you. Good Morning, Luna!” She said, and gave me a bubbly smile. “Are you sick, Luna?” She asked, and her curious gaze scanned my whole body. “Yes, She is! And she needs some rest. So take this mischief out of here, or I will inform the Alpha about it,” Doctor Roberto said, giving her Astro. “Thank you, Grandpa! I love you!!!” She whooped in a cheery tone and, with this, left the room like a whirlwind. “This girl! I don’t know how to handle her,” Doctor Roberto mumbled, and with this, he started picking up the medicines. “I am giving you a painkiller injection to help with your pain,” he said. “You have already told me about it,” I informed him, and he just smiled in response. ************** “You can do this, Maria! They are just an obstacle between you and your path of freedom,” I reminded myself, and looked towards the injections in my hand. I quickly prepared three cups of coffee and put two tablets in two of them. I didn’t put one in my coffee. I called Lyra, and she looked towards me in confusion. “Luna! What are you doing here?” “Nothing! I was just preparing coffee for Luca and Joseph. But I can’t pick up the tray, or I will hurt my wounds. Can you please help me with this?” I asked, and a smile crept into her lips. “Sure, sure, Luna! Finally, you have a change of heart,” She mumbled the last part, but I heard it clearly. “It’s just a token of appreciation, Lyra! No need to put more meaning to it,” I answered, but my cheeks turned red. “Don’t worry, Luna! I will not say a single word to anyone,” She said before picking up the tray and walking towards their room with me. She knocked on the door, and my heart rate picked up. “Come in!” I heard Joseph’s deep voice, and my confidence dwindled. “I think I should go now,” I said, and was about to run away from there when Joseph opened the door. “Lyra, the door was already open…” He stopped whatever he was about to say and looked at my flushed face. “What are you doing here, Angel? Do you need anything? Are you feeling okay?” My face started burning in embarrassment and nervousness. “Yes, yes! The Luna prepared coffee for you and wanted to thank you, but she couldn’t pick up the tray due to her wounds, so I came to help her.” I glared at Lyra, but she ignored it. An amusing smile crept onto Joseph’s lips. “Wow, I appreciate your caring gesture, Angel!” I heard Luca’s voice, and I wanted to just run away from the spot. “Okay! I should go now,” I was about to flee, but Luca’s words stopped me. “Well, if you put this much effort into all this, then you should spend a few moments with us to really thank us,” I gritted my teeth and forced a smile on my face. “Sure!” I answered, and they moved towards the small table present in their room. Their laptops were present on the table, and I think I disturbed their work. “If you are working, then I shouldn’t disturb…” Before I could complete my words, Luca closed the laptop. “Anything for you, Angel!” His teasing smile made me more nervous. I shouldn’t have come here in the first place. “So, how did you think about this generous gesture?” He asked, and I felt like I would turn to ashes in embarrassment if I stayed there for a few moments. Their intense gazes were scrutinizing me from head to toe, but I decided not to wither away under their inspecting eyes anymore. “Wow! The taste is good,” Luca said, and I didn’t know if he tasted the medicine in it or not because I didn’t know much about wolves at all. I was still torn between believing them or not. “The coffee is really good, Buttercup! Thank you so much,” Joseph praised, and I thanked him. “I should go now. The doctor asked me to rest.” I got up, but the corner of my shirt got stuck in the corner of the table, and I fell on Luca. I winced in pain, but the moment he caught me, my pain dimmed. Sparks erupted where his skin touched mine, and he picked me up bridal style. “If you want to enjoy the ride, then you should have told me, Angel.” His suggestive tone made me blush hard. “I didn’t mean to…” “It’s okay! Not everyone has the privilege to ride the alpha anyway,” He winked and walked towards my room. “N-no! Put me down. The doctor suggested that I should rest and not move my body too much,” I blurted out in nervousness, and they both looked towards me before bursting into laughter. “Relax, Luna! I am just helping you, nothing else,” But the teasing smirk on his face suggested otherwise. I grabbed his shirt for balance, and I could feel his warm body underneath clearly. I could see his amazing abs, but I shook my head to not think about them like that. “They are your enemies who hold you captive in their house. No need to think about anything else than this.” I reminded myself again. He put me to bed and turned to leave. “Don’t forget to take your medicine, Angel,” He reminded me before leaving my room. “F*ck! Spending time with them was really a nerve-wrecking experience,” I mumbled before typing a message to my senior. I started waiting for the medicines to show their magic on them. After waiting half an hour, I quietly entered their room and, thankfully, found them both unconscious. Their laptops were present on the table, but they were in deep sleep. I touched them to check if the medicines really worked on them or not, but luckily, it showed an effect on them. Now I have to tie them to bed, so they can’t stop me or chase me right away. I started searching their room for ropes and finally found them in a drawer.
