Chapter 18

Cameron POV

I was so happy to wake up with Violet in my arms. But then everything flashes back to me. The fight. The scream I heard before feeling a rush of comforting heat.Then blacking out thinking about my lovely mate. Once I knew that she was fine, I felt the hunger kick in. Violet’s scent was so enticing and can’t help myself. I lean into her neck and I can hear Gabe calling out to me but I ignore him. The scent of blood pulls my attention away and lick the blood the wrist that is offered to me.

When I pull back and see that I bite into Violet. I loose it. I fall off the bed and then keep moving away from her. I hurt my mate. The one thing I promised I wouldn’t do, I did. I look at her and she has tears in her eyes when she leaves the room. Gabriel is right in front of me and has me pinned to the wall.

I lower my head and whimper escapes my lips. “Cameron, enough” Gabriel growls. s**t he is mad at me. “Gabe, I am so sorry” I start to say but he places his hand over my mouth to stop me from speaking. “Cameron, you didn’t hurt her the way you are thinking you did. You backing away from her when she wanted to comfort you hurt her.” What he is saying makes sense. My knees give out and I fall to the floor.

Gabe is kneeling in front of me with his hands on my knees. “Cameron, stop beating yourself up. If anything, I should be the one apologizing to you. I marked you without your permission.” Gabe tells me. I look at him with wide eyes. “Gabe, you saved me. If you didn’t mark me then, I may not have made it. I was fading and my lycan was slipping further away from me.” I tell him. Gabe nods his head and leans into me. I pull him into my chest and comfort him.

After a few minutes, my beast is wanting to find Violet. He can sense that she is hurting. Which is weird considering we haven’t marked her yet. I look to Gabe he has a worried look on his face. “You feel that too?” I asked him. Gabe nods his head and looks to the door. “We need to find her and make this right.” He tells me. I nod my head in agreement. “Why do you think that we can sense her like this?” I asked him. “I may have a theory but we need to talk with the elemental wolf to see if I am right” Gabe says.

We make our way down to the dining room but I don’t see Violet anywhere. My dad and father walk over and pull me into a hug. “Son it’s so good to see you awake” my dad says. I nod my head but keep looking around. “Dad, have you seen Violet anywhere?” I asked him. They look to each other but its my father who talks next. “Son, I just dropped food off to Noah’s room for them. Violet sounded pretty upset when I brought the food in. Noah asked that no one bother them” my father tells us.

I take a step back. “I really messed up” I say quietly while shaking my head. Aunt Skylar catches me and offers a smile. “Cameron, give her some time. I am sure Noah is talking to her about everything we talked about with the elemental in the pack.” I nod my head and try not to cry. “Aunt Sky, I messed up. She let me feed from her and I backed away from her afterwards. She is hurting. I can feel it.” I tell her. Her eyes go wide and looks to Gabe. He nods his head and walks closer to us. “Mom, we both can feel it.” Gabe confirms what I just told her. She nods her head and then smiles.

She hugs us both and then walks over to Uncle Xavier. She turns back to look at us. “Boys, give her some time. Let her spend some time with her brother.” We both nod and turn to head into the kitchen. “Lets get some food and head back up to your bedroom.” I tell Gabe. “Already on it mate” Gabe says with a smile. Not only does he grab us food but also three pieces of chocolate cake.

I look at him weird but he sighs. “it’s a peace offering for Violet.” Gabe tells me like I should have figured that one out. Man I have a lot of work to keep up with how to keep her happy. It’s easy with Gabe but I have known him my whole life, which means, I still haven’t told her that I am adopted. “Stop thinking Cam” Gabe calls out as he starts up the upstairs. I sigh and follow him back up to his room.

Once we sit down and I sigh. “Gabe what is she hates me” I tell him while we are sitting outside on the balcony attached to his room. “Cam, she is not going to hate you. She is hurt that you turned her down from some snuggle time.” He tells me. I still don’t feel good about it. “Can we go see her once we are done eating?” I ask him. He nods his head and continues to eat. We watch the sunset together and talk about what need to do next to keep our mate safe and how I am going to be joining Xavier and Gabe for training.

After we are done, we head over to Noah’s room. He answers the door and sighs. “She is asleep already.” He tells us as he lets us into the room. I walk over to her and she is sleeping curled up under the blanket. “Can we take her back to Gabe’s room?” I ask out loud. Gabe chuckles. “Cam, its our room now. That mark is not just for show.” He says as he walks over to me and kisses me on the lips. “Let’s get out little princess to bed” Gabe tells me as he picks her up and carries her over to the door.

Before we leave Noah looks to us. “Um, you guys should know that we talked about something.” Noah says. We both look to him to continue. “We think the one who held her captive may have been there when our parents were killed. She mentioned how he seemed stronger than a normal vampire.” Noah says. “Do you think he knows who she is?” I ask him.

He looks to Violet in Gabe’s arms and then back to me. “I have a feel that he does. She looks too much like mom” Noah tells us with a sad smile. “So we need to make sure we are ready for whatever is coming” Gabe says. “Agreed. That is why we are working together with the elemental wolf from this pack and we are also going to train to get stronger. We both have alpha blood in our veins and it’s time we train like we are” Noah says and both Gabe and I nod our heads. “You can join us for the afternoon training session tomorrow” Gabe calls out before walking out the door.

“Hey Cam can we talk” Noah calls out before I leave the room. “Sure” I say turning around. “Look I know that you didn’t mean to hurt her but she felt like you rejected her.” Noah says and I feel a sting in my chest. “Noah, I can promise you that I never meant to hurt her. I was more horrified at myself for what I did. Gabe had to talk me down” I tell him. Noah walks closer to me. “I like you both. You are good for her and she is going to need you both when the time comes. You guys help center her and she is going to need that when she unlocks her power.” I am shocked at what he tells me.

I shake my head trying to wrap it around what he just tells me. “You mean, she is going to be more powerful than you?” I ask him. “Really man, you can feel the power coming from her. Well I guess you are use to it since you are around Gabriel. Yeah, she is going to be more powerful than me. Violet is also the rightful alpha to Silver Claw since she is first born.” Noah tells me. Holy crap. That explains a lot.

He chuckles and shakes his head. “Cameron, you alright” he asks me. “Yeah. I am fine. She had a slip of her alpha aura that we couldn’t figure out and now it makes sense.” I tell him with a smile. “Damn, how did I get so lucky with my mates” I tell him with a smile. “Just don’t screw it up Cameron” Noah calls out as he heads to bed.

I leave the room and head back to our room. Still feels weird but strangely right when I say it. When I walk in, Gabe is cuddled around Violet on the bed humming. It’s been a long time since he hummed like that. I slowly make my way over to him and kiss his cheek. “You’re in a good mood” I tell him. He nods his head and looks to Violet. “How did we get lucky to find her?” he asks in a quiet voice. He has no idea. “Gabe you have no idea how lucky we are. Noah just shared with me something interesting” I tell him before moving to lay down on the other side of Violet.

He looks at me with a confused look on his face. “Who do you think was born first between them?” I ask him. He takes a minute to think. “Noah must be first born. He has an air about him” Gabe says and I am shake my head. “Nope my handsome mate. Our little princess is first born and the rightful alpha of Silver Claw” I tell him. His eyes go wide and looks down at her.

“So that means...” he trails off. “Yep, our little princess is going to be supper strong” I tell him before kissing Violet on the cheek. She snuggles closer to me and I smile down at her. “Let’s get some sleep, we have a lot of work to do in the morning” Gabe says before placing his arm around Violet but also so his hand is resting on my hip. I snuggle in closer to her and breath in her scent before closing my eyes.
