The Abused Lycan and Her Mates

Chapter 19

Noah POV

It was nice getting to know my sister more. I hated that I was not there for her when I should have been but there is nothing I could have done about it then. Right now, I can focus on the future and helping her get stronger. I hope that I will be able to help her train and learn how to use her powers. I know that Rosa will help with that when they arrive in two days.

I am laying in bed thinking about what I learned from Rosa and how to teach Violet when there is a knock on my door. I get up to answer it and see Queen Skylar and King Xavier standing there. “Good evening, Noah, may we have a word with you?” Queen Skylar asks. I nod my head and open my door but King Xavier shakes his head. “Let’s head to our office to speak” he says. I am a little worried about what they want to talk with me about.

When we are all seated, Queen Skylar offers me a smile. “Noah, I know that you have traveled a long way to be here but we wanted to know what are you plans after the rest of your people arrive?” Queen Skylar asks me. “We plan on helping train my sister and then follow her. That has been the plan for so long but now that she has her mates, I am not so sure what is going to happen.” I tell them.

King Xavier smiles and nods his head. “Well, we can do this one of two ways. You can become the alpha and find some land in our territory for your pack or you guys can join us” King Xavier offers. He would open his land up for all of us? That was insane. I look at both of them shocked. “I don’t know what to say to that” I tell them.

Queen Skylar smiles at me and nods her head. “I know this is a big offer to think about. Why don’t you talk with Violet and see what you both want to do.” She tells me with a smile. I am happy that they are not pressuring me into anything but at the same time, to be given a chance to stay close to my sister. Why would I pass that up. King Xavier clears his throat and I look to him.

“Yes, King Xavier” I say. He chuckles and shakes his head. “Please it’s just Xavier to you. We are going to be family since your sister is our son’s mate.” He says with a smile. I nod my head and wait for him to speak again. “We are just wondering how many people are coming so we can get everyone set up” Xavier says. I have to think about it. We are not that big but we are big enough to be considered a pack.

I look up to him and take a deep breath. “There are 200 people now. At least 75 of us are originally from Sliver Claw. A lot of the unmated members found their mates and we have gained from rouges along the way, plus the children.” I tell them. Xavier smiles and Skylar’s eyes glaze over. I guess she is talking with whoever she needs to so they are getting everything prepared the arrivals.

I watch as Xavier’s eyes widen when I finish speaking. “That is a lot of people. I am shocked that you have not officially been named as a pack.” He says. “We have been waiting for my sister. She is the rightful alpha of our pack.” I tell him with a shrug. “That is amazing that you all would have waited for her. That shows great loyalty and something that we pride ourselves on.” Skylar says.

I smile at her and nod my head. After a few silence moments I look to them. “I would like to join the pack. I want to stay close to my sister. I will talk with Rosa when she arrives and then talk with our people. I will give them the option to join or they can form their own pack and live in your territory under your rule. If that is ok.”

I watch as they look to each other and then smile. “We would love to have you. We will wait until you talk with Violet about everything and talk to your people. Everyone who wants to join, we will hold a welcome celebration and do the pack inductions then” Skylar says. Xavier nods his head and then smiles before speaking. “So, that means you will be joining in our training sessions then.” I chuckle and nod my head. “If you will allow me.” He smiles and then stands ups. “You both can join us in the afternoon” he says.

I look at him shocked. “You mean Violet and me? Who are we going to be training with?” I asked him. “Yes, you and Violet. From my understanding she needs to get stronger and we will help you both come to your full power.” He tells me and I smile at him. “Thank you” I tell him. He chuckles and then shakes his head. “Don’t thank me yet. You will be joining with my private training session with Gabriel and Cameron. They are the top in the royal pack for a reason”

Crap, this just got crazy. I know that I can fight but to train with a hybrid, well now two hybrids is going to be rough. “I can see that you are worried. I will not put you against them. We are going to help you both learn how to fight and defend yourselves. If what we have read and learned over the last two days, you both will need to be able to take down someone with the same strength and speed as a hybrid.” He tells me.

That makes sense. If what we learned about someone drinking out blood will give then strength and possibly a fraction of our power, then we are going to need all the help we can get. “What time do we need be there by?” I ask him. Xavier smiles at me and looks to Skylar. “They like to start around noon” she tells me. I nod my head and stand up. “We will be there. Thank you again for everything.” They both get up and walk over to me. Skylar hugs me and then Xavier places a hand on my shoulder. “We will do whatever we can to help you guys. It’s our way to honor your parents.” Xavier tells me after squeezing my shoulder.

We said our goodbyes and I headed back to the room I was staying in. My lycan was starting to get anxious and pacing. I try to get him to stop but he thinks our mate is close by. I look around and take a deep inhale and catch a faint scent of lavender. Instead of running around trying to find it, I head straight to my sister.

I pound on their door and wait until an annoyed looking Gabriel opens the door. “It’s late and we are trying to sleep” he says in a quiet voice. I look around him to see my sister snuggled up next to Cameron. I smile but then my lycan reminds me about the scent. “Um, my mate may be in your pack. I was just excited and I…” I don’t know what I was thinking. I should have waited until morning.

I shake my head and sigh. “I am sorry to have bothered you. I don’t know what I was thinking.” I tell him. He smiles and places a hand on my shoulder. “You wanted to share that with your sister.” I nod my head but keep my eyes down. “Noah. That is something to celebrate. Do you have any idea who it is or where the scent came from?” he asked me.

I am shocked that he is showing interest. “No, I have no idea. I caught a very faint scent that made my lycan go nuts but we could not follow it.” I tell him with a sigh. He chuckles and shakes his head. “How about this. We will help you find her while I give you both a tour of the pack grounds” I look up to him with shock. “You would do that for me” I ask.

He nods his head and looks back to Cameron and Violet. “I would do anything for them and besides. You are family Noah. I would do anything to help you.” I want to give him a hug but hold off. “Thank you. I will just head back to my room” I tell him while rubbing the back of my neck. He yawns and nods his head. “Good night, Noah” he calls out as I make my way to my room. “Good night, Gabriel” I call back.

Once in my room, I lay on my bed thinking about our mate. I wonder if she is a warrior and how she would feel about an elemental being her mate. I hope that she likes us. My lycan whining about wanting to go find her but I reassured him that we will start tomorrow. He finally quieted down enough for me to get some sleep.

The next morning, I am woken up by a knock on the door. I walk over and open the door to see Violet standing there. She smiles at me and looks better than she did yesterday. “Good morning, Noah” she says in a sing song voice. I am not awake to deal with how happy she looks. I barely slept last night. My lycan kept pacing and wanted to go looking for the scent again.

She looks at me and I sigh. “Morning” I say and go to lay back down in bed. “What’s wrong Noah?” she asks as she follows me into the room. “I caught the scent of my mate last night and my lycan would not let me sleep at all last night” I tell her. I hear a gasp and then she rushes at me. She hugs me and is excited. “Oh, Noah. That is wonderful news. Lets go look for her” she says and then I remember my conversation with Gabriel last night.

I smile at her and nod my head. “We will but first things first. I need a shower and some food.” I tell her. She nods her head and looks at me again. “There is something on your mind” I tell her and she nods her head. “I am worried about what is going to come. I have a feeling that we are going to end up in a battle that will cost a lot of lives.” She tells me and I nod my head. “I have the same feeling sis. We protect each other and fight. I will help train you and we will win.” I tell her and watch as she nods her head. “I can’t lose you and them. I don’t think I will be able to handle it” she tells me and nod my head.

I pull her into a hug and kiss the top of her head. “Sis, we will be ok. The rest of our people will be here tomorrow and I have something I want to talk to you about too.” I tell her remembering my conversation with the Skylar and Xavier last night. I tell her everything and watch as her eyes go wide. “You would give up being an alpha to stay here with me. Why?” she asks me in shock.

I shake my head and smile at her. “Because, I want to stay by your side. I lost you once and I am not going to leave you. Besides we will need to talk with out people about this too.” I tell her and she just smiles. There is a knock on the door and I groan. “Well is that how you greet us” I hear Cameron’s voice as he opens the door. Gabriel is right behind him with a smirk. He hasn’t told them about me stopping by last night.

Violet runs over to him and he pulls her into a hug. “You were gone when we got up this morning.” Cameron tells her as he kisses the top of her head. “Yeah, I wanted to see my brother” she tells him with a smile. “Well I am going to take a shower and then meet you all for some breakfast” I tell them with a wave before heading into the bathroom.

After my shower, I make my way downstairs and walk past the open windows and catch her scent again. I look out the window and see a group of warriors training and I wonder if she is warrior. I turn to see Gabriel staring at me. “You caught her scent again.” He says and I nod my head. “I think she is a warrior in your pack” I tell him and nods his head. “I would not be surprised if the moon goddess paired you with a strong warrior. We will head over to the training grounds after we eat. If she is in the current group, they are our top warriors” Gabriel tells me before heading off.

Once we finish eating, Gabriel is true to his words. We start at the training grounds. “Here is the training grounds. We have rotations based on levels of skill. We also have special training with weapons too. The ranked all have different schedules and lead the groups.” Gabriel says we walk around the area. The scent is getting stronger the closer we get to the buildings. My lycan is going crazy in my head.

Violet notices and places a hand on my arm. “You, ok?” she asks. I nod my head but I know she is not happy with that answer. “Vi, she is close. Her scent is getting stronger the closer we get” I tell her and she smiles at me. She squeezes my arm before letting go.

When we reach the buildings, the scent is so powerful I start moving towards it. I stop when I see the most beautiful women. She is in the middle of a fight with two other men. I want to run in after her but I am too mesmerized. She easily takes them down. I slowly move closer to the ring and everyone notices. They move to the side to watch my approach.

When I am right behind her, she stiffens and stand straighter. I watch as she sniffs the air and slowly turns around to see me. “Mate” we both say at the same time. I smile at her but she bows her head. Why is she bowing to me. I place a hand under her chin and raise her head. “Why do you bow mate?” I ask her.

She looks up at me but then I can see it. She can sense my power and she doesn’t feel worthy of me. “I am not worthy a mate such as you. I am a lowly warrior.” She says and tries to move away from me. My lycan is howling in pain. She is our equal. Why would she say something like that. When she goes to bare her neck again that’s when I see it. It’s a faded mark. I drop my hand away from her chin and watch as she runs away from me.

I fall to my knees and my lycan is howling in pain. I feel a hand on my shoulder and see that it’s Gabriel standing behind me. “She has a story and came to our pack looking for hope. I can tell a few things but it’s her story to tell you when she is ready” he tells me. I look in the direction she ran off and I get up to follow her but Cameron steps in my way.

“Move” I say. “Not until I know that you are not going to reject her.” I growl at him, my lycan close to the surface. “I would never reject my mate. I would never hurt her no matter what her past holds” I growl out. Cameron nods his head and lets me go. I bow to them and then run off to find my mate.

When I catch up to her, we are in the woods. “Will you please stop?” I ask her. She stands still facing away from me. “Will you tell me what happened?” I asked her. She starts to shake and I move closer to her. I slowly wrap my arms around her and pull her into me. The spark feel amazing and she starts to relax in my hold.

I close my eyes and breath in her heavenly scent. “I was mated to a rank wolf. Everything was going well until her found out everything and rejected me. It nearly killed me. If Prince Gabriel and Beta Cameron didn’t find me when they did, I may have ended it all” she tells me. My lycan howls in sadness that she went through that pain. “I am happy that you are still alive. I promise you; I am not like your last mate. I will cherish you” I tell her as I lean down to kiss her neck.

She shivers at my touch and smile. “How can you say that? My last didn’t want me because I can’t have children. I can tell you are an alpha. Alpha’s need an heir and I can’t give that to you” she tells me as she tried to pull away. This is what it’s really about. I sigh and tighten my hold on her. “Mate, it doesn’t matter to me if can have a pup or not. I am no pack alpha” I tell her.

She pulls away enough to turn in my arms with wide eyes. “But I can feel it. My lycan can feel it” she tells me and I chuckle. “Well, here is a little secret of mine. I am an elemental.” I tell her. She pales and then I see her smile. “I have heard of stories but never in my dreams……..its so rare for an elemental to be alive. I last heard that last one was killed. It was when the Silver Claw…..” she trails off and I know it’s written all over my face.

She places her hands on my face. “I am so sorry. I didn’t realize.” She says with sadness in her eyes. “They were my parents. They were the only elementals in the area and they were killed. We are going to go after who killed them” I tell her and she nods her head. “What do you mean we?” she asks. I smile at her and lean more into her touch. “My sister and I. We are twins but she is older by a few minutes.” I tell her.

She looks at me and smiles. “So, where does this leave us” she asks me. I smile at her and lean down to place a light kiss over her scarred mark. “It means that I want you to be my mate. I accept you as you are.” I tell her and she sighs. “I accept you too but I am not ready to bare your mark, not yet” she add at the end. I nod my head and step back from her. I hold out my hand for her and she takes it. “I am Noah” I tell her my name and wait for her to do the same. “I am Julia” she tells me with a smile.
