A frown made its way to Adya’s lips as she saw Esha in her cabin with a box, pushing the door open Adya looked foreign in her own cabin. “Esha,” She called her name to acknowledge her as she was too busy with her happy smile with earphones plugged into her ears. “Adya mam, Hii,” the smile was still on her face as if she got the biggest gift in the universe. “Hello,” Adya’s voice was firm. “What are you doing in my cabin?” She asked straightforwardly. She was not in a great mood since the talk with Vansh. He haunted her dreams and now even her reality. “It’s her cabin now,” a voice answered before Esha could even reply to her. “What?” Adya asked as she turned around only to see Vansh Raghuvanshi standing there with a coffee in his hands. “Yes,” Looks like he was not in the mood for explanations. Adya’s eyes traveled to Esha and then again to Vansh, “It seems you fired me, Mr. Raghuvanshi,” Her eyes bore holes into his, fuming. A small smirk made its way to Vansh’s lips. “Let’s take this discussion to my cabin, shall we?” Vansh said leaving the way for Adya like a gentleman, hell knows he was not one, at least not with Adya. Not wanting to create a scene, Adya walked to Vansh’s cabin and closed the door behind him. “Jaan,” His tone changed within the next second before Adya moved away from his reach before he could pull her closer to him. “So you’re firing me, without any notice,” She stated, folding her hands against her chest. “You didn’t check my mail, did you?” He asked, looking at her face. “You’re blocked,” Now that hurt his ego, Adya at least got that much satisfaction. “I discussed with dad—your uncle Ro and you see I am new in the business and—“Vansh started explaining the whole thing to spend some more moments with Adya but she was done tolerating his s**t. “Cut the crap,” She cut him off in between as he managed to smile. Always so impatient. “The point is—“He took a step closer to her as she gulped, just behind her was the chair, Adya did not realize it before she fell on one. Why the heck does he always have to take pauses and walk closer? Vansh got even closer to her as his hands rested on the back of the chair, caging Adya in between his arms and the chair. Her breath mingled with his. A shiver went down her spine as she looked right into his eyes, this time she was not going to be intimidated by him. At least she will try. Gulping, she again dared to look into his eyes, and he smirked. Impressive! “You are my assistant now,” She frowned as he smiled at her. “You demoted me,” She stated as he shook his head. “Your salary and perks are the same, Jaan but you’ll help me, you see--,” he shrugged his shoulders. “Till I get used to handling this empire on my own,” He added as his hand reached for her jaw to her cheek. “And how many days that’ll take,” She asked, holding his hand off her cheek but not before pinching his fingers with her nails. “Till you say yes,” he whispered bearing the pain with a smile. “Blackmailing, your old habit,” She uttered turning the chair to the other side as she held her purse and started looking for something. Seconds later she handed him two pieces of envelope. “What’s this?” He asked, opening them. “I thought you could read?” that was her sarcastic slap on his face. Tongue-tied when he opened the first envelope, he saw a cheque of 55 lakhs. “What?” He was confused. “What is this for?” He asked. “For the dress, it was worth 45 lakhs, the rest of the 10 lakhs are for the accessories and your service, immediate service,” She said. Honesty that was just to hurt his ego when he had hurt hers. “Scores settled,” She stated as he opened the second envelope. It had her resignation. “You’re quitting,” He stated holding the piece of paper with her sign. Adya chose not to answer him as she held her purse. “Good luck handling this empire, Mr. Raghuvanshi,” Adya murmured as she passed by him. “You have to serve your notice period,” She stopped just before she could pull the door handle. “I am ready to bear the penalties of breaching the contract,” She said and continued to hold the door but his next words stopped her breath. “And that would be 10 crore” She gulped turning to look at him. “Uncle Ro will make it 1 crore,” She stated. Rohan Raghuvanshi would support her that much, right? “Dad does not run this empire anymore, I do,” Her anger had reached its peak. “Why are you hell-bent on making me hate you?” She asked, her eyes had slight moisture, He was making her experience the same helplessness as before. “Because I can,” The ego in his words! “Don’t make me hate you,” she was close to pleading. “You already do,” His voice was void of any emotion and so was his face. “Your cabin is at the left,” He stated as she made a face. Walking towards him in anger she got her hands on the mug of coffee. “f**k you!” with that she threw that coffee on his black clothes.
