Chapter 1: The Origin of Necessary Evil
"He who fights with monsters should look to it that he himself does not become a monster."
— Friedrich Nietzsche, Beyond Good and Evil
"I remember my father telling me, to always be kind, righteous and just in every encounter you face... He was a good man... But his life unfortunately came to a tragic halt. His death thought me more than his days of living. His death is what made me the man I am today"
Says a man in his early 30s. His voice was deep and husky but yet gentle and soothing like a deep breeze that comes from sea. Even though quite in his youth, he speaks as if he has witnessed things not the ordinary can see even with hundreds of lives. He speaks with wisdom and remembrance of his past which he still remembers clearly to this day.
"It all started in 1992. At the beautiful city of Prague, Czech Republic. But here, Prague at my time was not known for it's beautiful fairytale like landscapes, the Dark Ages architecture and all the Classical Age Bullshit."
I remember as a boy with high hopes and dreams, just finished his school and wanted to be a Military Officer. Had a lovely mother and an amazing rolemodel of a father whom were perfect in my eyes. I thought everything would be like a fairytale. But... How wrong was I...
Prague then was The City of Sin and Corruption. Gangs, Mafias and Syndicates took over the city. The Celebrity among them was the Berdych Gang, which was founded by David Berdych.
A bouncer turned into an Organised Crime Boss. The Gang was known for being one of the organizations that had its roots deep into the authorities and law enforcement. They made sure that officers, lawyers, politicians and businessmen shook hands with them to make them formidable, known for armed robberies, high profile kidnappings, extortions and fake police raids. Many were afraid to question these self proclaimed "businessmen".
"But my father was not one of them. He was not the kind to bow down. My father was a journalist, a good one that too. He spent months researching and uncovering the scandals and brutal acts of the Crime Syndicates by involving the Local Authorities. My Mom too, supported him even though she knew it may have cost him life"
"One day, he was invited to a press conference as he was known for his published articles, He was made The Guest Speaker to address the current vices that the city faced. Cameras and mics facing him as the faces of the people gathered there were eager. A word which would break the silence which everyone anticipated to listen to.
Without any hesitation, my father stood in front of the podium and raised a file filled with enough papers which can be distributed to an entire district"
"We cannot keep quiet when our city has been the playground of these criminals. They have even turned the so-called authorities, the ones who were supposed to protect us are now the lapdogs of these brutes. WE HAVE TO STAND FOR OURSELVES!"
The man addressing the crowd, stabs the air with his document above his head which contained the names of the officials who tainted themselves with crime and the money that came from it. This was decades ago.
In the present time. The man smiles with a sense of pride but he sighs. He takes a sip of Bourbon from his black iron flask which was embroidered with fine golden details with a family crest in the middle of the flask and he continues.
"I still remember that day when my dad's statement aired in the local channel, my mother watched it with immense pride but I could sense it deep down. She knew. We may have to pay a price for his bravery. "
The man sighs and stands up from his lavish chair which looked like a throne. Cushioned with premium leather and had real leopard skin prints as his seat cover. He walks towards his balcony which gives a beautiful view of The City of Miami.
