Learning I’m a wolf

Isabels POV

“Wow I can’t believe you are going to be 18 tomorrow Izzy” Hannah said with a huge smile on her face. “We are going to have to celebrate. Will your mom let you go out?” She asked as I sighed. “She might, I’m not sure.”I start saying before Hannah interrupts me.

“Isabel Campbell you will be an adult your mom shouldn’t be able to keep you home!” She shouts causing me to pull the phone away from me ear. “Yes Hannah but mom has always told me that we can’t be caught” I say and I could tell my best friend was rolling her eyes. “You always say that but you never know who from. I’m sorry Izzy but I think your mom might be a little bit crazy” Hannah said. It was the first time she had said this and I always took my moms side but maybe Hannah had a point. My mom had never given me an exact reason why we were hiding. I hoped that maybe with me turning 18 tomorrow I would finally get some answers about that.

“Isabel I’m home come down here please “ I heard my mom call out to me. “Just a second I’m on the phone with Hannah. I’ll be down shortly” I yell back.

“Hannah I have to go moms home and she wants to talk and probably have dinner” I say and we say our good bye. I set my phone down as I leave my room. I could hear wolves howling just past the mountains and it made me smile. I always loved wolves they were my favorite animal. Sometimes I wished I was one so I could just run through the forest and feel free.

“Isabel happy early birthday” she said as I came into the kitchen. She held a pair of car keys out to me. “Really!?” I squealed and she nodded. I gave my mom the biggest hug before going outside. It wasn’t anything to fancy but I loved it. It had some rust on the dark blue frame and there was a small dent in the rear fender but I didn’t care. I had a car and I was over the moon excited. “Isabel there is something else we need to talk about too” she said motioning for me to come back inside. I followed her in and watched her lock the door like she did ever night.

“Isabel I have lied to you about us hiding. We were actually on the run for several years from a man named Daniel Henderson. To be exact his title is Alpha Daniel Henderson” she said softly. I look at her weird. Did my mom just say alpha? As in like an alpha male? I think to myself as she continues. “Now I want you to sit down for this next part.” She says softly and I just nodded pulling up a chair from the kitchen table that was off to the left of the front door. “Isabel Alpha Daniel is your father. You are a werewolf and tomorrow you will gain your wolf. I was worried you would gain your wolf when you turned 16 like the others but since you never had the pack connection I realized that it would come until you become an adult.” I stared at my mom like she had three head. Werewolves where real why was my mom such a crazy person. Maybe Hannah had been right for so long. “You see Izzy your father hated that I couldn’t produce him a male heir. That’s all he ever wanted so when you came along I was instructed to take you to the woods and abandon you there. I couldn’t do it and in the middle of the night I ran. Since my pack was hated by most I decided to become a rogue and try to blend in with the humans. That seems to work until your fathers beta found us and almost killed you.” She said and I roll my eye. “Mom this is crazy talk! My scar on my side you told me was from a surgery I had when I was a baby because my liver wasn’t working right “ I say as my mom shakes her head. “No it’s from the beta ripping your side open. He was aiming to kill you” she said softly as a tear rolled down her cheek. “ he almost did” she added.

“Mom you are insane. Werewolves are just a myth. Maybe you should get some...” I started to say then fell out of my chair. My mom had looked at me then right before my eyes shifted into a wolf. I let out a scream and run to my room locking the door. There real! OMG they are f*****g real. It took a few minutes before my mom came to knock on my door. I wouldn’t unlock it and told her to go away I didn’t want to be around her. My head was spinning with all the information I had found out. I had to tell Hannah but how would I explain my mom just turned into wolf In front of me. She would call me crazy and tell me I needed help. Maybe I did maybe I was hallucinating about the whole thing or maybe it was a dream. Yes it had to be a dream and I should be waking up any second. I thought as I closed my eyes hoping to wake up soon.

I felt the sun on my back as I opened my eyes. It was morning and I hoped that all of last night was just a dream. I unlock my door and walk down stairs. Mom was cooking eggs and she gave me a smile. “Did you sleep ok sweetie” she said softly and I nodded. “ I had a weird dream that you told me werewolves were real and that you and I were ones and then you shifted into ones in front of me” I say with a chuckle as I grabbed my plate of food. “No hunny that wasn’t a dream that really happened last night” my mom says and I half choke on my food.

Hi Isabel I’m Aurora. It’s nice to finally meet you. I have been wanting to meet for a few years now. Someone said in my brain and I freaked out. My mom figured it out rather quickly. “Isabel calm down. Did you just hear your wolf talk to you?” She asked and I just nodded eyes wide open. “I know that first time is weird. Talk back to her and say hi” my mom said

Ummm.. hi Aurora I guess it’s nice to meet you too

You don’t have to be nervous talking to me. I’m family now and I am here for you no matter what. She said and I could only smile. That somehow made me feel better about everything. Suddenly there was a very loud bang on the front door. I look at my mom and she looked like she had turned into a ghost. “Izzy run let your wolf to have you run! Go north toward the Crystal Sun pack” mother said softly as she pushed me toward the back door. “Run Izzy run” she yelled as the front door came crashing down. I saw mom shift and the man standing by the door shifted just as fast.

Alright Aurora I need to run help me I say in my head to the wolf. I then feel very weird and it was nothing I had ever felt before. It was kind of painful but not painful at the same time. Before I knew it I was running toward the woods. Everything looked so different. Just relax and I will get us there Aurora said as we ran. I could see the fight lasting for a minute before I heard footsteps running behind us. I turned my head and saw the man was right on my tail. OMG I have a tail I kind of squeal in my head and I heard Aurora laugh.

I ran for what seemed like forever before I was knocked over by the man who had attack my mom. His teeth bit into my neck causing me great pain and I let out a howl. Everything started to go dark as I saw several other wolves come and attack the man that attack me. I didn’t seem much after that just black.

Tyler’s POV

It had been about a week since my Alpha ceremony and my father got word from a local “rouge” wolf that her pup was going to be turning 18 today and she was worried that her old pack would come to try and kill her. She also wrote that her daughter didn’t know she was a werewolf. That made her curious how you couldn’t know that. My father told me and i wrote her back saying that if anything happens to send her daughter toward our pack and I will help her daughter and her.

“Alpha there is a unknown she wolf who just entered our territory. She is being chased by an unknown male” my head warrior mind linked.

“Attack the male but escort the female. Is there only one female or two?” I ask

“Only one and she is young. Looks to have just learned to phase she isn’t very fast” he said and I jump up.

I run outside and phase running towards the south forest. Do you think it’s Isabel? Talon asks me and I just nod our head as I run. In the letter her mom wrote it had stated that they ran from the emerald sun pack and was hoping that we would take her daughter Isabel in as a pack member. I had told her mom that since she didn’t have a pack bond to them that I would be willing to allow them in an a temporary basis until I got to know them so that I wouldn’t be over thrown by spy’s from my enemies.

As I approached the scene I saw the male bite into the females neck. It was a deep bite and she started to go limp.

MATE Talon screamed and everything after that was a blur. I torn the male limb from limb and then shifted. Thankfully he hadn’t grabbed her neck it was more of her shoulder but she was losing blood quickly. I scoop her up and run as fast as I could toward the pack doctor.

“Doctor I have a down wolf coming in. She was attacked by a rouge and is bleeding badly. “ I mind like the pack doctor. He doesn’t respond but I figured that was because he was getting everything ready.

I run in and he immediately takes her and starts an iv with a blood transfusion. “Alpha stay here” he says as him and his nurses rush her back. I could feel my heart breaking. If anything happened to her I think I might die. Within minutes of my arrival Lilly rushes into the waiting area. “I heard there was an attack who got hurt” she asks me and then noticed that it looked like I had been crying for a second. “Ty what is wrong who got hurt” she asks softly and I clear my throat so if anyone else came in they wouldn’t know I had shown weakness. “I’m not even sure who she is Lil. All I know is that she is my mate” I say as the doctor comes out. I stand up and walk toward him.

“Alpha the good news is the injury isn’t that severe and she should heal in a few days. The day news is that she lost a ton of blood and we almost lost her because of that” he said and my heart sank. I had felt her slipping away from me and I just hoped that had been a feeling but I had just learned it wasn’t. “Can I see her doctor” I ask and he nodded. “Of course Alpha. Beta Lilly will you be joining him as well?” The doctor ask and Lilly looked at me I nodded. “Yes doctor “ she said as we followed him back to the room.

I walked in first and her sweet smell filled the room. Lilacs with a hint of chocolate. She has dark brown hair and looked a little bigger then Lilly. She looked around 150lbs and was maybe just about 5’6. I walked towards her and touched her hand gently.

I felt the sparks everyone talks about and I didn’t let go. Pulling up the chair I sat next to her and just stared at her sleeping. She looked so peaceful and I longed to hear her voice.

“She is gonna be ok alpha” Lilly said placing a hand in my shoulder. I look up at her and nodded. “Our Luna has just proven that she is strong” Lilly said and it caused me to smile. She was right, this girl laying in the bed, was really strong and I would do everything in my power to keep her safe.
