Felicia The healing center room felt both too bright and too small. I lay on the special bed, my enormous belly rising like a mountain in front of me. The contractions were much stronger now. Each one felt like a giant wave crashing through my body, squeezing tighter and longer than the last. I gripped the sides of the bed, breathing hard through my teeth. “Another one’s coming,” I gasped. Clara and two other healers moved quickly around me, checking monitors and heartbeats.
