After hours of planning, and multiple efforts by Brock to talk Peyton out of her idea, Peyton’s mind was made up. She knew exactly what she was going to do.
“I don’t want you to do this,” Brock said as he and Peyton stood on the back porch. “I’m scared. I don’t want anything bad to happen to you.”
“You act tough, Mr. Brock Paladin, but you have a soft side. You like me, don’t you?” She was teasing him.
