Once the Wanderer had confirmed every ship in the fleet had dropped into normal space Jess relaxed and had the Wanderer leave jump space too. This was the final stop before they reached the enemy fleet… assuming it hadn’t moved. The question hanging over everything was whether the fleet would even still be in the same system.
And, of course, only the Wanderer could handle finding that out. So a few minutes later Jess had the Wanderer break back into jump space and head toward their final destination.
The last stretch was a short one. Normal ships could make the trip in around twenty minutes. The Wanderer was able to cut that still further.
If getting there was easy, confirming the enemy fleet’s location might prove much more difficult. Admiral North hadn’t wanted Jess to risk
