Apparently, I Have a Husband
"Suzie...Suzie, come on wake-up Suzie you are going to be late for your early morning piano lesson." Elaine stared at Suzie as she laid there sleeping as peaceful and graceful as anyone would be after having to stay up all night for a family gathering , on normal occasions she would have left her to sleep and cover for her but there were only a few things she could do for Suzie considering the fact that she was just her maid and piano lessons was definitely not among those few things. " Come on Suzie, you are going to put us both in a lot of trouble if your father finds out you are still sleeping." Elaine said as she shook Suzie one more time to wake her up. "Just five more minutes Elaine we are about to tie the knot." Suzie said in the drowsiest voice ever known to mankind. Elaine face-palmed herself as she stood up from the side of Suzie's bed and went to open up the curtains which was a great idea because the sun shone directly on Suzie's face completely bringing her back from whatever fantasy she was dreaming about. Suzie squinted her eyes and then used her hands to cover her face as she rolled in bed and then finally opened her eyes and looked at sun shining through her window and then at Elaine and then at the clock which read 9:00am. "OH MY GOD, am late and Dad's going to kill me, Elaine help meeee." Suzie looked at Elaine who just stood there and starred at her. " Elaine please I need your help..." Suzie said. Elaine stared at her for a few seconds before bursting into laughter. " Seriously ... are you mocking me? here? now?" Suzie said as she stood up and rushed to her wardrobe to pick out what to wear, she had about fifteen minutes to get ready. The last time she was late for piano lessons her father had stopped her from having sleepovers which was weird because Suzie could not understand why she was still treated as a child considering the fact that she was 21 years old, yes she had a lot of responsibilities because of how influential her father was but Suzie never wanted that life , she just wanted to paint and enjoy each passing day with a thankful heart but that was not what Mr. Bethel had planned for his daughter or his remaining children because as long as they were his flesh and blood they had to be perfect and although Suzie loved her dad she hated that part of him that demanded perfection because Suzie knew that no one could be perfect except through GOD and Suzie's dad stopped believing in GOD or anything spiritual for that matter after he lost his first child , Suzie's older brother to cancer. Suzie was not born at that time but her mom had told her and all her siblings about how they had a big brother who wanted to spend more time with GOD and went back to Heaven, at least that's how Suzie remembered it. Mrs. Bethel had made sure all her children grew up with the word of GOD deeply engraved in their hearts because she refused to allow her husband's lack of faith, trust and believe in GOD to be passed on to the children. Suzie always thanked GOD for her mother and how supportive she had been all through her past. " You are doing it again", Elaine said which brought Suzie back from her trip down memory lane. " Suzie looked at Elaine. " Oh, so you can talk and here i was thinking our house have been invaded by laughter inducing aliens ." Elaine smiled and stood up from the stool she was sitting on." I brought your breakfast and your clothes are in the dresser; all you need to do is stop taking trips to the past and go and shower before your dad kill us both". Elaine said as she literally shoved Suzie into her bathroom. " Have I told you how much I love you." Suzie said as she went to her bathroom to take a quick shower. " No, I don't think so " Elaine said as she smiled and went on to arrange and clean up Suzie's bed. " So, was it a prince or knight this time? " I have absolutely no idea what you are talking about." Suzie shouted from the bathroom. " Oh really? Does five more minutes Elaine we are about to tie the knot sound familiar to you " Elaine said while doing her best impression of Suzie's drowsy voice. " So, I ask again prince or knight." Elaine said as she came near Suzie’s bathroom door and sat on the floor with her arms hugging her knee. " Alright, alright you win but no one can know I have dreams of marrying a perfect, handsome, dreamy, caring, man." Suzie said as she stepped out from the bathroom and went to her dresser. " Don’t worry your secret is safe with me." Elaine said as she lifted her hands up as a sign of submission. " So, what did you dream of this time." Suzie came out of her dresser and went to sit in front of her vanity mirror as Elaine stood up and walked towards her and stood at her back packing up her hazy brown hair into a ponytail. " This dream was different it was not about a prince or knight, just a really nice guy that loves GOD so much and makes me feel happy, it felt so... REAL, what if GOD is trying to tell me about my future Elaine?" Suzie said as she looked at Elaine's reflection through the mirror. " As much as I want to sit down and hear everything about your dream, we have to do that later cause your dad will kill you before I get to the hear the story if you don't rush down for your piano class now." Elaine said as she finished packing Suzie's hair and was dragging her to the front door. " But I have to tell you everything I can't keep this all to my.... self." Suzie hesitated to say as her mom immediately entered the room looking displaced and in shock. " Mom what's wrong, are you okay you look pale." Suzie said as she walked up to her mother. " No baby everything is fine, your father is just looking for you." Suzie's mom said as she stroked Suzie's cheek but Mrs. Bethel still looked troubled. " Oh my GOD, he is awake already? No, No, No, what did he stop me from doing this time." Suzie said as she looked into her mom's eyes. " No sweetie, he isn't mad at you for waking up late." Suzie's mom said. " Oh really, then why do you look like you just saw a ghost." Suzie asked her mom "Cause I just received a shocking news Suzie." Mrs. Bethel said as she looked at her daughter with sadness and worry in her eyes. " I received the news of your MARRIAGE
