As I slowly regained consciousness, I noticed an unusual warmth enveloping me. I couldn't recall adjusting the room temperature, so why was I feeling so overheated? The blanket seemed to smother me, tightly wound around my body like a burrito. I groped around, searching for the edge of the blanket to free myself, but instead, my hand encountered something warm and soft.
Blinking my eyes open, I found a large arm draped over me, my fingers entwined with the hand at its end. Confusion washed over me as I turned in my bed, only to discover Nathan lying beside me, his arm encircling me as if he feared I might vanish in my sleep.
