“In the past two years, the work we have done in the AG’s office has led to significant policy change, increasing the sentencing for trafficking criminals. The punishment is now 75 percent more severe than it was just ten years ago. Most of this has been attributed to raising awareness around this crime and bringing it to the attention of the public. Although the work I do seems more focused on criminal justice and political science fields, I am very grateful for the communications degree I earned at Goodwin. I encourage you to step outside of your studies and gain skills that will help you prepare for your future. I appreciate the opportunity to share with you today.
