Katherine's Secret Identity

CHAPTER 2

        The afternoon rays of the sun passing through the window pane directly hit the face of Don Lucas, the leader of the famous gang and also doing business under the name of Coyote Financial Services, a lending company which is typically like a loan shark. Gila Village is the place where Kath came from. She grew up from this neighborhood. People in this village feared Coyote gang for they are known to do all sort of dirty jobs. They even kill to be able to accomplish their plans, but they always win in every cases being filed against them because of their strong connections to different authorities either government or private companies.

        “You mean that girl is not in this village anymore?” Don Lucas sarcastically asks one of his boys standing behind him while holding an alcohol glass on his right hand looking outside the window.

        “Yes boss, we check every possible place where that girl can stay and one of the villagers told us that they saw that girl leaving with her things.”  Don Lucas threw his glass passing right through the face of that man and landed on the wall behind the man where he is standing.

With a very outrageous voice Don Lucas shouted “Hey you fool, why you are here? Don’t tell me you’re saying that we cannot possibly find that girl? Why? Did she leave the Earth? Did she vanish in the air? Do everything you can to find that girl. And if you find that stupid girl get that thing that she does not suppose to be holding with and kill her! Did you get my point?!!” The boys replied together with a quick bow “Yes boss”

        “We will be having a group activity” their teacher instructed them with their group assignment. While the teacher is writing on the board, Jake, who is sitting at the left corner of the room near the door, threw a crumpled piece of paper at the back head of Katherine, where sitting at the third row left center aisle. Kath with an angry and curios face turned immediately where the paper came from and saw Jake with a sarcastic look. Jake teasingly waved his hands and silently moved his mouth saying “You’ll be in our group” With a very disappointed look Kath faked her smile and nod and look back in front of the board.

       “What did he say?” Jane whispered to Kath with a very curios face. “Jane can we be teammates?” Kath asked Jane with a desperate look. “Hey, why do you even bother to ask, of course who else will I be joining with? We’ll of course if Sander will ask me to be with them then I will of course.”  Jane replied to Kath with a jesting tone.

                    The bell rang!

        The class started to become noisy after the teacher left the room.  Everyone was chatting. Then suddenly Jake again called Kath, “Hey Ms. Trouble maker, make sure to finish that activity with an excellent output, I don’t want my marks to go down because of you.. do you get it?”  Then the boys sitting beside Jake, referring to his minions, laughed. There’s nothing Kath can do about it for she knew that Jake is holding something against her. Claire approached Jake with a very curious face. “Jake why would you want to get involved with that trouble maker girl? Gosh your going down on her level.” Claire loudly said it for Kath to be heard. Jake just silently laugh while leaning on his chair with a very unpleasant sitting position. Meanwhile, Sander was just sitting on his sit with his ear pods listening to some kind of music and he seems like not interested on what is going on around him.

          The chime make a sound upon opening the entrance door of the convenient store where Kath is working. “Welcome” Kath cheerfully stood up, from arranging goods, and turned facing the entrance door to greet the customer upon hearing the sound. She was very surprise when Dave suddenly pat her head with a smile while saying  “You’re so hard working, take it easy” For her Dave seems like a bit weird with the way he dress and looks having those thick wavy hair with glasses but at the same time he was like an older brother image for her. Dave is in his sophomore year in college attending in a University which is also owned by the same foundation where Kath is studying. “By the way how’s your study in that school? Did you make friends with those spoiled rich students?” Dave asks Kath with a smile while Kath is punching his goods in the counter. “Well so far I’m okay…” Kath answered with a worried face. “Huuuh? What’s with that look? Why it’s telling me the exact opposite of your answer?”  They just laughed.

         Kath is running very fast coming from the entrance gate of the school after waking up late because of his part time job. She runs as fast as she could without even noticing that her name plate fell after she bumped at the left side arm of Sander. Sander stopped from walking and picked up the name plate in front of him. He then pause for awhile and read the name printed on that name plate. “ KATHERINE HANS”…

        The food court was filled with different noises coming from the student. The sound of spoon and fork clicking on the plate added some noise in that area; everyone was very busy taking their meal in that room.

Meanwhile, Kath was sitting on the bench near the field eating her sandwich. Kath prefer to have her sandwich in the field thinking that the food court would be very noisy and crowded during lunch time and she thought she can be more relax outside with fresh air surrounded by green trees. “Huh? I’m so out of my mind, I even forgot to leave this cap” The cap she is referring to is the cap that she has been using inside the convenient store as part of her promotional uniform. She just quietly laugh.

        While eating her sandwich an unexpected incident occurs. She saw two students arguing at the corner side of the building approximately forty five degrees from where she is sitting. “Tsk Tsk Tsk they should go out and have that conversation outside the campus. That Lovers’ quarrel thing”  But she became more curious when she noticed that the boy is wearing a different school uniform. Then she got more worried when she saw the boy holding a paper cutter. The boy is holding the cutter on his right hand near the face of the girl while his left hand covering the mouth of the girl. “I need to cover something on my face. I’m supposed to have a low profile in this school. Wait, where’s my handkerchief? Yah right I can use my handkerchief oh right also this cap.” Kath rashly covered her face with her handkerchief and use the cap to keep her identity.

        “Hey, what are you doing? You need to calm down, that thing is dangerous.” Kath calmly ask the boy to stop what he is doing.

The boy pointed the cutter to Kath saying “stay away from here don’t interfere in our conversation”

The girl is crying hard asking for help. “Please help me, please help me” Continuously crying for help, the boy got more nervous when some student already notice the commotion and surrounded them.

            “Don’t you dare come near or else I’ll cut her neck, stay away from here”. He’s now holding the cutter in front of the girl’s neck like in a hostage taking scenario.

            “Huh? What’s going on outside? Jane first saw the scene from the second floor where the food court is located. Everyone got curious and nervous; they take every chance to see what’s going on near the field. Some went down to witness the scene nearly.

            “But who’s that girl wearing a cap, wait is she covering her face?” Like as if she could help there. Claire sarcastically said. “Like a superhero thing? HAHAHA why cover the face?”  

            “What is that?” Kath pointing at the back of the boy holding the cutter. The boy got more nervous and destructed that’s the time Kath took the opportunity she rashly hold the hand of the boy which is holding the cutter and pull the girl. She’s now holding the right hand of the boy and tried to attack the boy with different martial art techniques. The students surrounding them keep on cheering then suddenly the boy fell on the ground. Kath made sure that the boy will remain facing the ground holding his both arms tied on his lower back portion. After short while, the guards came and the cops followed, but as always Kath immediately leave the scene to make sure no one will recognize her.

            “Huh? Where is she? The student got more curios after Kath leave the scene all they remember is the girl wearing cap with a covered face.
