The Rouge Agent

"Selene can you go give this card to Mr.Ejike's assistant , he will be waiting beside the unity park, hurry up please", Mrs Abigail Collins my foster mother asked as she handed the card to me. I was adopted when I was 13yrs, that's two yrs back because of some business things between the Collins, they were on a contract marriage before and needed a child hastely for some proof, that's why they got me, now that the business is over they will have to split up again and go there different ways. I won't say they didn't care for me, of course they did although they were very strict they gave me everything I wanted. "But it's windy, it seems like it's going to rain" I said as I carried my rain coat, because i know after complaining I'll still go. " It won't take long and besides your with your rain coat, and make sure you carry an umbrella in case it's too heavy, do you hear me?" She asked as she dressed the collar of my shirt "I don't know why you like me answering you, I've already heard abeg" I banged the door as I was leaving, i don't actually know why I was angry but I think it's because of my foster parents separating, yeah I know my foster mum will still be staying with me but is this ok with her, she keep saying she just went into the marriage for money that she doesn't love him but I've seen it in her eyes she does but I keep telling myself it's her choice she has her reasons. The rain was already pouring when I reached the park, I looked around but I didn't see anyone,I asked the security but they said nobody like that arrived here. "Hello, Abigail I didn't see him, am at the park right now" I called my mum and told her as I didn't see anybody there . "Ah ah, what's wrong with that man now, can you wait a little longer, if he doesn't come you come back, and how many times have be I tell you to call me mother and not by my name eh, you don't use to hear word..........". "Ok ma" I cut the call before I could hear any thing again I know she'll talk about the name and blah blah blah. I decided to wait. It was very windy while it was rainy and obviously it was destroying things, I decided to take shelter in another tent, the rain was so heavy that it led to flood, my mum was calling but there was no network so I couldn't pick it, I looked around for any bus but I couldn't find any, the security man was already out so I was the only one along the lane. I won't lie I was scared like very scared . All the gutters were filled with water and some zincs flying about, I came out of the tent because it was already breaking down, so I decided to go to the next tent. I held unto a rail as I move, I kept on moving small small till I reach the tent. “Finally” , I let out as I took my last step towards the tent. “Great, now I just have to wait till the rain finish falling, let me try calling Abigail again” , Selene said as she reached out to her bag. “God oh!, Don't tell me I didn't lock this bag before, hey!, the card where's the card , Selene exclaimed as she scattered her bag furiously. Although she scattered her bag she didn't see it with our thinking she rushed into the angry rain searching for the card, this was her mother's chance of having a better life after their separation, she looked around with tears unknowingly dropping from her eyes not minding the angry rain beating her or her being swept down countless times what she knows was the card, she was bent on getting the card. Luckily she found it near a drainage hole almost sticking in. She picked it up relived and cleaned it on her already soaked cloth. Looking around she noticed she was in the middle of nowhere and everywhere around her was flooded and any little mistake and that's a zero for her she looked around scared of where to keep her leg and noticed the moving river coming towards her bringing down some other buildings while coming forward, she tried very hard in moving her leg but noticed it was stuck in the hole, she looked towards the coming flooded water with the things it carried and her stuck leg, she already know that was a zero was her as it swept her out immediately. #BREAKING NEWS# “Girl found missing from Disastrous flood identified as Mr. and Mrs. Collins daughter from the construction company in Enugu, Nigeria…………”.
