Chapter 3

The pain in my heart suddenly came back and I fell noisily on the floor. That was when they jerked up instantly. “What..” I looked up from where I stood to see their disgusting faces. They sure looked shocked to see the woman they wanted dead. “You piece of s**t. Both of you. Crazy bastards!!” My breath was failing, but I tried to hold on strong. My legs were weak, but I stood up nevertheless. In a speed that I couldn't imagine, I picked up a bottle and threw it at them. They jumped up breathing heavily, Amy still in Lucas’s arms. “Are you okay?” He asked her, stealing glances at me. “Yeah, yeah.” Amy replied, she was still trying to catch her breath. “You want me dead? Huh?” I screamed at the top of my voice. I stopped to take a breath, but when I looked up, they didn't look apologetic anymore. They only stared at me, but were asking each other if they were okay. “I'll report this to the police.” I coughed loudly. My eyes met the little wedding picture portrait of I and Alpha Lucas. I picked it quickly and threw it as far as I could. “Just shut the hell up and stop throwing things.” Alpha Lucas screamed at me and turned to Amy. “Let's leave this place.” He grabbed her hands about to leave. “Hey! Amy Kimberworth!!” I couldn't stop myself from shouting. It seems life was being taken away from me, slowly but steadily. She couldn't look up to me. “How could you do this to me? My husband?” I asked, not that I was expecting an answer but I needed an explanation. How was that even possible? “That's enough!” Alpha Lucas screamed the house down. “You need to mellow down. What happened has happened, deal with it!” He still kept Amy in his arms as they approached me. “I know you're stupid but be mature for once.” I watch them walk out of the room, shutting the door behind them. Why won't Amy say anything? Why won't she face me and talk to me like a betrayer? “Amy!”I ran after them. “You witch.” I pushed her and she fell on the bare floor. She quickly grabbed her knee in pain even when it was obvious she wasn't hurt. I didn't know what came over me but I ran to her, forcefully grabbing her hair. Immediately, Alpha Lucas pushed me away from her and I landed face front on the floor. “Ouch.” She grumbled in pain as Alpha Lucas went to help her up. “I'm okay.” I hated her. She was my biggest supporter, now she was my biggest enemy. As I watched them in pain, I knew how it all happened. I had let my guard down and trusted her blindly, and she took everything away from me. “Leave her alone.” Alpha Lucas stopped me. “Why?” My voice trailed off. I sobbed quietly on the floor waiting for them to leave, because that should be what they would do. They cheated and didn't have the audacity to face me. “Karla.” I stopped for a moment and looked up. Amy stood on one knee so she could see me face to face. “I'm sorry it had to happen like this. You were naive and turned out to be stupid too.” I stared intently at the face of the one who betrayed me, I trusted her so much in the past. She was my only family and friend when everyone left me. “Maybe, in your next life, don't be too nice. It hurts you in the end. Look at you, what can you do right now? Don't be so greedy, you're going to die, anyway.” She stood up to leave immediately, but I dragged her back, managed to stand, and dragged her hair harder this time. “You brat. Just die.” Alpha Lucas pushed me hard and I rolled quickly and hard on the stairs. As I rolled, one stair at a time, my life flashed before my eyes. Everything I had done came pouring all out. Everything suddenly became blank and everywhere dark. I couldn't feel a thing, I couldn't even see my face; then suddenly my eyes opened and I was in my hometown, ten years ago. “Amy? Come let's go to the garden.” I saw my younger self calling my little sister. I watched 2 girls run to the garden. They watered the seed and plated while doing it. Then the big sister who was obviously me ran out to get water from the kitchen. The little sister instead started throwing stones at birds, but then one of the stones hit the beautiful flower vase and it fell and broke into two. I watched as little Amy began to shiver and immediately fixed the flower vase the best way she could. Then I watched my little self run to meet her after the incident. Little Amy asked little me to get the flower which was in the flower vase she had broken. Little me couldn't have figured out what happened so I did as I was told. She didn't even touch the vase, when it came falling again, this time breaking to pieces. The next scene showed my parents scolding me because that was the family's favorite vase. Little Amy stood watching. “I'm sorry on her behalf. Karla plays too much but she is also kind.” She literally bowed her hair as she spoke. “Why don't you be more like your sister? She's always taking the blame on your behalf. Respect her too.” My father barked at me. As I watched, I realized that Amy screwed my whole life. She acted like a good child and made me look like a bad child. I was compared to her so much when I was little that I literally looked up to her on everything. Her opinion was all that mattered and not mine. I would have never believed that she had broken that vase. Infact, I cried and apologized to her for breaking a vase I didn't break later that night. It was all agonizing to realize this at the end. Blank! Then my eyes were opened again and this time I was at Alpha Lucas’ house, I had come to visit his mother, and Amy was there with me since I had begged her to come with me. She had told me to wear a certain dress which I knew wasn't appropriate for the occasion, but she was my sister and her opinion mattered always. I quite rocked the dress and as I watched she wasn't really happy how I turned out. Luna Isabella welcomed us happily. We ate dinner while discussing things randomly. I had left for the rest room when Amy brought up the topic of my dress. “I apologize for Karla's dress, I actually told her not to wear that but my sister is always stubborn and she listens to no one.” Amy apologized. I saw the countenance of both Alpha Lucas and his mother change. It was all Amy's handwork. Blank Again! I waited to see another scene of my life but nothing came. I just felt like I was in an empty space where I couldn't move my body. I was in a very cold place but I felt no pain. Was I dead? I opened my eyes again and this time, I was not in pain anymore. I knew I was laying on a bed, a hospital bed obviously since Alpha Lucas had pushed me from the stairs. I raised my hands so I could see them. They looked okay and not covered in scars like I expected. If I could remember, I was pushed down the stairs, so I expected to still feel pain at the sides of my body but still nothing. I looked around the hospital but it didn't look like a hospital. I sat up on my elbow and realized I was in a room, not a hospital room, but a young girl's bedroom. “Was I kidnapped?” I asked aloud, still gazing around the room. I sat up properly now. The room was painted black which was my worst color, it was quite a small room. Then I saw a portrait at the right side table beside the other things. It was the portrait of a young beautiful girl with two adults and a little boy too. “Does this mean that I was kidnapped by a family?” I wondered out loud again. Someone might have heard my voice because the person called out a name immediately after I said a word. “Morgan?” It was a woman's voice, resonant and powerful. “I know you're awake, do come down now.” I immediately lay back on the bed, closed my eyes and pretended to sleep.
