Omir

Waking up holding her was heaven. I hated the phone interrupted our sleep. I apologized as I looked at my phone seeing an unsaved number calling me. They hung up before I could answer it. I was suppose to meet a customer in like 30 mins and I still needed to shower. I left Amryl, even though I didn't want to. Luckily I lived only 10 mins away. 

I arrived 10 mins late for my customer, but he still ordered my services for Friday night. As I left the meeting, I was wondering what Amryl was doing, so I shot her a text. 

Amryl

I heard my phone go off, but I was still sleeping and ignored it. When I did get up it was well after 2 pm. I didn't have any plans for today. I headed to the shower. The warm water felt great. As I was thinking about what I should do today, I heard a knock at the door. I turned off the water dried off quickly and put on my robe. 

I opened the door to see Amari standing on the other side. 

Amari: I'm sorry, do I need to give you a minute? 

Me: No, it's fine come on in. Give me a minute to slip on some clothes

Amari: Okay...

Man she looked amazing in that robe, I thought as she opened the door for me. I didn't mean to disturb her. I just wanted to talk to her. Her place looked much bigger than last night. I was admiring her china cabinet when I saw her coming down the stairs.

Amari: This is a really nice china cabinet. 

Me: Thanks! So what brought you by?

Amari: You always help me clear my mind and I was hoping to vent and tell you what's been on my mind lately.

Me: Okay, what's going on?

Amari: Things have continued to be rocky with Ella. She declined my marriage proposal, saying she wasn't ready for marriage. How my cheating on her severely strained our relationship. I loved her and I never meant for that to happen with Lisa. I was shocked waking up to her and even more when she told me a few weeks later that she was pregnant. It ruined the good relationship I had with Ella and I don't even remember none of it, just waking up naked in bed with her.

Me: Amari I'm so sorry that happened to you. I know it strained your relationship. If she has told you that she doesn't want to marry you, how'd you end up getting her pregnant again?

Amari: I'm a man. She dressed provocatively when I came over to watch the kids. Nana told me I should bring them back to the house from now on or I'll have my own basketball team soon. I guess me wanting things to work out made me vulnerable and I gave in to what my body wanted at the time. 

Me: You being vulnerable should've told you that you shouldn't have stayed anywhere near her. Only thing to come of letting your flesh in the driver seat was more hurt or pregnancy. Amari, you're smart and caring. You have to find a way to let her go, or you're going to keep hurting yourself. 

Amari: I know but it's hard. I don't even have the desire to create music anymore. 

Me: What? You mean you just lost your reason? I feel like this is because you're heartbroken. Give yourself time to heal and then try again. Someone out there will love you the way you want them to when you're ready. 

Amari: Amryl you're amazing. Thank you for just listening to me. I guess you're right. I always told you that you were my baby sister. I'm not going to lie, I liked you as more. I know you're with my brother, but I want you to know if you were older, I would've married you after graduation. I know I wouldn't have my kids and I love them, but the real reason I'm in this sunken place is because I wished I had given you my love instead of Ella. I'm going to go, but I needed to tell you this.

Me: Amari! You're thoughtful to tell me this, but I told you I liked your brother. If you had told me this, then I never would've acted on my feelings for him. I don't want to come between you and him. I've always considered you both family anyways. How you just going to drop this bomb then leave? 

Amari: No don't dump my brother, I was just telling you how I felt. I don't want anything in exchange. I know he loves you by the way he talks about you. I'm in no way trying to come between you guys. I know you love him too. You guys looked great together last night. You deserve to be happy.

Me: I don't know what else to say. Thank you for your honesty. I'm not going to lie I feel uncomfortable right now. I think you should go. 

He got up heading to the door. Just then, there was a knock. I opened the door and to my surprise Omir was standing there. His face turned to look at his brother.

Omir: Bro what you doing here?

Amari: I just came to vent about Ella.

Me: Hi Omir, come on in. 

Amari: I was just leaving man, go ahead and spend time with your wife.

Omir: Alright bro see you later.

Me: Back already? Wife?

Omir: So what really was going on? I know when my brother is lying

Me: Omir...

Omir: Don't cover for him, tell me

Me: He did come to vent. He also told me that he had feelings for me. I told him I was uncomfortable and that he should leave. I was walking him to the door when you knocked. I told him that I wouldn't have acted on my feelings if I had known. I don't want to come between you two.

Omir: I knew it was more. Why hadn't he told me this? Instead he waits until I tell you I'm in love with you and then here he comes to ruin it. You have every right to dump me and go to him. He has more money...

Me: You think I care more about money? Omir, he assured me he wasn't trying to come between us. He was just telling me for closure I'm sure. He's been through a lot with Ella and I believe he's still depressed. I don't think he's doing good. I haven't mentioned dumping you, but I might after your outburst here

Omir: Baby I'm sorry. It's just that-

Me: You love me, I heard you the first time. 

Omir: Yeah...I don't want to lose you. I want to know you more. I guess I'm letting my feelings for you get in the way of the friendship you already had with him. 

Me: Okay so what do you want to know?

Omir: Favorite color?

Me: Black and Blue together not separate. Yours?

Omir: Purple. What's your favorite food?

Me: All kinds of foods. If it tastes delicious I want to eat it! You?

Omir: I'm into to natural foods, right now yellow meat watermelon is my favorite. 

Me: So you're vegan? 

Omir: No not really, but it is better for the body. Believe it or not I like to eat also, as well as cook.

Me: Why don't you bring groceries by and let's cook together for our next date? You bring the groceries and I'll cook it. 

Omir: I wasn't aware we had been on a date yet, but sure why not. 

Me: Last night? I invited you to the dinner I made...

Omir: Oh okay.. well let me cook for you. Nana would love to see you

Me: Okay, what time you want me to come over, tonight? 

Omir: Can we make it for tomorrow? I need time to decide what I want to make for you

Me: Okay. You want some brunch? I just got up not too long ago before your brother interrupted my shower.

Omir: You came to the door straight out the shower dressed like that?

Me: No I had a robe on and asked him to give me 10 to change. 

Omir: I don't like that! I've never seen you in the robe!

Me: Jealous?

Omir: Not at all. What you making for brunch

Me: You're going to help me make it since you're here. 

We made brunch and talked and laughed for hours before he had to leave. I picked up my phone seeing where he had texted me from earlier and again telling me he was on his way to stop by.

I was all over the place, but I had to admit I felt a little better after talking to Amryl. I headed to the studio. I got in the booth and I told the producer I had a new piece. He let me lay down my vocals and then we searched for a beat. I finally found a melody. The song sounded great. 

After leaving the studio I went home. Mom and Nana were having girl talk when I came in. They greeted me and mom told me I looked different. 

Mom: You look like you've let off some stress finally. Why you wait until last night to tell me that you were having another baby? I've told you to slow down on making kids. You've got your whole life ahead of you.

Nana: Cali hush and let him speak! What's on your mind baby?

Me: I spoke with Amryl and got off my chest that I like her more than a baby sister. She was understanding. She said she wouldn't have acted on her feelings with Aryan if I had told her sooner. I assured her I wasn't trying to come in between them. They looked great together.

Mom: I'm sure he'd understand if she left him for you. 

Nana: You sound foolish Cali, shut up. How are you going to break one son's heart for the other?

Me: Mom I wouldn't even think of doing that to him. He says she makes him want more out of life. Why would I take that away from him? He loves her and I believe him when he says it's real. I laid down a song today and I feel really good about it.

Nana: That's great. I hope you found the closure you needed, but I think you got one more thing to do.

Mom: I think you should try harder with Amryl. She's successful in everything she touches. I heard she has a law firm downtown and it was doing well. I read about her in an article flipping through a magazine. She's set to be the next big timer. 

Me: Mom no! He LOVES HER. Did you not hear me? LOVE. 

Amryl deserved to be anything she wanted to be in life. I knew what Nans meant when she said I have something else to do. I called Ella and told her I was on my way to get my babies. 

Ella

He phoned to tell me he was on his way. I put on an outfit I know he loves and gave the kids a snack while they watched their favorite tv show. He showed up not even 20 mins later.

Amari: Hey babies

Me: Hey to you too.

Amari: You look nice

Me: I know. So, what y'all going to do today?

Amari: I'm going to take them to my house today. We don't need a bag or nothing. I can buy whatever they need when we get there. 

Me: So you thought of this on your way over here?

Amari: Is there a problem with me taking them today because I can come back tomorrow?

Me: Let's talk in the kitchen.

I started another episode and took Amari to the kitchen. 

Me: Why you taking them and leaving? 

Amari: That's how you got pregnant. Me staying when I know you didn't love me anymore. I can't do this anymore. I spoke to my best friend and she told me this is why I'm still hurting

Me: So that b***h Amryl in your ear huh? You wanna f**k her don't you? Just like Lisa. You want her to give you some babies? 

Amari: We're friends and nothing else. I'm going to go I don't want to upset you and cause you any stress.

Me: You're not taking my kids anywhere! F**K that! You want that b***h, fine go!

Amari: I just want to take my kids to my house that's it. There's no other woman. Calm down, you're getting mad for no reason. Chill

Me: That's why this f**king baby isn't yours! Yeah that's right I f**ked Calvin and he was so much better than you.

Amari: Glad you enjoyed him. I'm taking my kids to my house and I'll bring them back tomorrow. Enjoy the rest of your day Ella. Come on kids let's go see Nana and Ge Ge. 

I couldn't believe what she just told me. Knowing this baby isn't mine made me feel that much better for some reason.  I took the kids back to my house and Mom and Nana were happy to see them. Ella sent me a text she was putting me on child support. I phoned Amryl to see if she could help me with this. She said she could. 

Omir 

I didn't really have anything else to do after I left Amryl's. I was still thinking about Mari telling her he had feelings for he. It was really f**king with me. I got home and saw niece and nephew were there. I played with them for a little while. I found him outside on the patio in deep thought. He looked like he felt better, but something was on his mind.

Me: Hey bro what's going on?

Amari: Ella told me Calvin is the real father of the baby she pregnant with now. 

Me: D**n that's messed up. I'm sorry bro. I do want to talk to you about what you told Amryl

Amari: It's cool, I actually feel better knowing I'm not the father. I figured you would, she's the honest type. Before you let me have it, I am not trying to come between you two. Yall look good together and I respect that.

Me: I feel if you respected it, you would've told me first, but it's cool. She said the same thing. She also told me you telling her made her uncomfortable. How she wouldn't have acted on her feelings for me had she known. That hurt bro. I've loved her since setting eyes on her. How long have you known you like her?

Amari: It was before graduation. I wanted to marry her. I loved Ella at the time. I was feeling defeated after the whole Lisa thing and all of my feelings for her came back at once. I'm sorry bro

Me: Why you didn't tell me? I would never let a female come between us. I love her I do, but I wouldn't have acted on my feelings neither if I had known. 

Amari: No bro! She deserves to be happy and you make her happy. Don't worry about me. I should have told you. I'm sorry. I think of how perfect she is and I was just hurting. I like her yes, but you LOVE her. You deserve to be happy too. Just don't hurt her

Me: I wouldn't think of hurting her. Thanks bro that means a lot. So what you going to do about Ella?

Amari: After today's conversation, she knows it is over. She texted a little while ago to tell me she putting me on child support. 

Me: So it's like that? For what? You take care of your babies! That's foul!

Amari: I know. I hope you don't mind me asking Amryl to help me with this?

Me: Naw man, handle your business! Imma catch up with you later. I told Amryl I was going to cook for her tomorrow night. I got to go ask Nans what she think is a good meal for her.

Amari: Okay then man, feed yo wife!!

Me: Later bro, I'm really glad you're feeling better. 

I went to find Nana. She was in the kitchen making the greats a snack. She gave me several ideas. I wanted everything to be perfect. Mom was smiling, but I knew she wasn't happy Amryl chose me. Nana assured me she'd make sure she was on her best behavior. I thanked her and went to take a nap.

Amryl

I had decided on a massage for today. I headed to the location when the group text started going off. 

Sel: Hey girlie you with lover boy?

Lena: Yall so cute together

Rena: Ugh I have to agree with Lena

Nina: You kissed him yet? 

Ray: You seemed so happy around him last night

Apryl: Why yall was matching? You planned this together?

Me: No it wasn't planned. Yes I've kissed him three times now. Thanks Lena, Rena, and Ray. 

Sel: So what you got planned for today?

Me: A massage. I noticed the other night I was tensed when I was with him. 

Sel: You spent the night with him? Dish it!!

Apryl: You let him have your innocence? NO!!

Lena: AM!!

Rena: Go head then girl! I hope he put it in yo back

Nina: AM! I know you did not!

Ray: OH MY!!

Me: No we did not have s*x you guys. I'm not ready to yet. We just talked. I feel like I've known him all my life. Well, I kinda have. LOL We are taking things one day at a time.

Sel: well you did say he was your boyfriend now!

Ray: Right! You did say yall kissed twice! So when did # 3 happen?

Sel: Oh yeah she did...ooh did he stay last night too?

Me: He helped me clean up. Right before he left he kissed me. I feel safe with him you guys. 

Lena: But not safe enough to let your guard down I hope?

Me: Of course not.

Nina: Not to be a downer, I saw him talking to Bria at the summit party. Before you two get too serious check to see where his head is Am, seriously

Me: Who's Bria?

Sel: Really Nina?? Girl wrong time! We gushing about her finding love and you wanna bring some mess into it

Ray: I'm with Sel, really NINA??

Lena: WOW! Nina!

Rena: Girl I'm undone right now, wow

Me: I wanna know who is Bria?

Nina: Ask Aryan! The rest of you shut up! I would want her to tell me if my new beau was "talking" to another girl.

Me: What all do you know Nina? Spill it!

Nina: They are more than friends is all I'm going to say!

Sel: Why you didn't tell us then? 

Nina: Because I only needed to tell Am once I saw she was claiming him as her boyfriend. Back off! I'm just looking out for her. She's been through enough!

Me: I do appreciate it Nina. Sel it's okay. Everyone don't argue, she's right I would want to know these things upfront. I will speak to him about it. We're having dinner tomorrow, he's cooking for me at his house. 

Sel: Ooh he cooking for you, I like him more. He got a twin?

Nina: Have fun on your date!

Lena: He cooks too! Perfect!

Rena: That's so sweet

Ray: Definitely get to the bottom of this, but enjoy your dinner with him. 

Apryl: Omg, so much going on.

Me: Nothing major as of yet. Enjoy the rest of your day ladies. I love you guys. 

Apryl texted me privately to tell me that Bria wasn't the girl I should be worried about. Narobi is. I was shocked to hear all of this. I would definitely be asking Omir about these women. 

After my massage I saw a message from him. 

How's my wife doing this evening? I hope you've had a wonderful day. Looking forward to seeing you soon. I want to see you tonight, but I know you probably have had a busy day. Call me when you're free. 

I didn't reply to his message. I continued on with my day. I had to go by the firm to get started on his brother's disposition for his case against Ella. This could wait until later. 

I finished up at the office around 2 am. I headed home. Chris came to drive me home. He was quiet tonight. I looked up and asked him about his day. He replied quiet and eventful. I asked if he wanted to share. At first he was going to turn me down, then he informed me that his wife Mel had lost the baby and they were both devastated. I told him to pull over. I got out to hug him. I sent him home and let Devin take over. I waited only 30 mins for him to arrive. By the time I got home, it was well after 3 am. 

I took out my phone and messaged Omir back. "My day went well. Busy. Had to finish up some things at the office. I hope you're resting well. Thank you for checking on me." 

Shower and my bed is all I wanted at this point.
