Chapter 28: Punished Without a Reason

Lucia's pov

The day light shined brightly into my eyes as i opened it slowly. The scorching of the morning sun was somewhat hot to my skin as i opened my eyes.

I was outside. Naked and tired. My body was still tied to the stone. I closed my eyes tightly, trying to recall what had happened, or maybe go back to sleep so i can appear in my real life.

As i did, memories of what happened yesterday came flooding into my head again.

Shit! This f**k is real! I am outside, f*****g outside! And everyone's eyes were on me.

It was as if there were gatherings of people, the slaves surrounding the place, and i was just in the middle of them, yied to the stone.

I shifted my face to the other directions. Madam betty was standing there, looking at me angrily. Her right foot was stomping heavily on the ground while her hands were kept akimbo.

I was shocked. I was surprised.

And as our eyes mer, she flared up evenly, "You i***t!' She roared, moving closer to me like an angey beast.

My eyes widened anf my face stiffened, bracing myself for the impact of her hands on me. Or the next violence she was about to inflict on my body.

She came closer, raising her hands up and flinging it to my face, I winced im pain, tears welling up in my eyes.

My cheeks started burning, hot and red.

She turned my face to the other direction and gave it another slap.

I am sure the finger print of this particular slap would show clearly on my face because it was terrible. Very terrible.

My heart was bleeding inside. I do not know what i did to people all over the world to deserve this kind of daily torture.

"Why did you kill my guards?" Ahe screamed, turning my face again and landing another slap.

It was as if she was garnering her whole strength for each slap she gave to me, preparing for anither one, but this her question is what i do not understand. How would she say i killled tham?

If i can remember vividly it wasafter their count twenty eight or nine count i pased out, i do not even know what happened next.

"Are you refusing to talk?" She dragged my pony tail up, making me raise my face upward for her, then she landed anither hit on it.

"Ate you still…"

"No ma." I cut her short, "I didn't do anything please. I cannot even remember what happened yesterday very well." I cried but it was as if the more i talked, the more her anger grew up.

"You liar. So you want to say that you didn't do anything to them? How vome they are all dead?" She spat, bending her head to my fave, widening her eyes, giving me a suspicious look

I nodded. "Yes ma. I am saying yhe truth. I didn't do anything to them. What i can remember is what they were counting the strokes they gave to me before i passed out."

She statted laughing evily, "the audacity for you to think i would believe the trash you just said. You this swine. You think i am a kid like you?" She thundered, hitting her knuckles on my head like someone creaking a nut.

This immediately gave me migraine. Sharp pains radiated through my btain, going to the last part of my spine.

"Please ma, i am saying the truth. I mean it. I didn't know what happened to them at all. I can swear woyh my life on thie please."

"You must be joking girl. Don't think because i am interrogating you, you can take me for a fool. I am not ad foolish as you are. Ok? So do well and tell me what happened to these men today."

I was saying the truth. I am. Why would i derive joy in lying against myself?

She yanked up my head again with my ponytail, bringing it closer to her face. Blood have started oozing from my damaged teeth.

Dripping off my mouth as she yanked my face up again, "if you do not say it, i will report you to Alpha Delano who would take appropriate discipline on you."

"Please ma. I am very sorry for the lost but i am saying with all truthfulness, i wasn't the one that killed them. Please. Even Alpha Delano… "

As soln as i mentioned his name, i remebered calling his name before i passed out, i remembered asking him for herlp.

Was he the ome that got them killed?

I am just so confused that i do nit even know the next step they would take on me again. But suddenly, someone raised his hand, coming forward to madam bethy.

"I want to make a quick statement ma please. I am a witness of what happened yesterday. Lucia here is innocent. She was actually tied ob the something like a storm entered this quaters, pushing those men to the ground, dismantling them from beating her.

The storm started making stones, heavy and big stones to form a swirl in the air amd as the men wented to escape, the stone startes attacking them, hitting them at every part of their body. And after some time, because I and some of our collegues were watching them, the stones started flying to our directions.

This time, i set my eyes on Lucia, she was judynlike someone who was unconscious. I was shocked by it. I was thinking she was the one that was controlling everything not knowing it wasn't her."

"Hmm." Madam betty exclaimed, "So who could be the person that did this thing to everyone that day?" She asked, eyeing me.

I am suspecting Alpha Delano but i cannot sag ut out. If i should say this, ny punishment mught increase further.

"Well, loose her." She ordered and some ghrads vame loosening the rope from me.
