Godfrey gritted his teeth, although he had none. But he refused to allow himself to be dissipated, washed away by the tides that rushed passed him.

Suddenly it all went dark again, then a holographic message popped up in front of him.

Godfrey was too stunned to understand, he had barely managed to stop his soul from crumbling but he could see the message before him, some words were written on the page.

But even if he shut his eyes, he couldn't shut his ears, the systems voice sounded through the darkness.

"GODFREY MILTON HAS PASSED"

"YOU ARE AMONGST THE SELECT FEW"

"YOU SHALL BE TRANSPORTED TO ANOTHER WORLD TO SAVE IT, THE WORLD THAT YOU CREATED"

"SAVE YOUR WORLD AND RESOLVE THE DESTRUCTION OF THE UNIVERSE FROM THE PLOT BREAK"

"BESTOWING UPON YOU AN INNATE ATTRIBUTE"

"POWER OF THE PEN"

"GOOD LUCK GODFREY MILTON, I SHALL BE OF ASSISTANCE WHENEVER YOU NEED ME"

And with that, Godfrey felt his soul being pulled away from the dark abyss, further and further away, he knew not where he was being taken too but he was glad for it.

Godfrey tried to bring back the words of the voice he had heard while in the abyss but he couldn't remember all of it, but that didn't matter anymore, he was going back home. He wasn't dead.

Writer's Block.
Godfrey sat on his desk, the table was piled high with notes and papers, numerous ideas just sitting, waiting to be harvested, but Godfrey had his pen in his mouth as he happily gnawed on it, it was a hobby of his, chewing the caps of pens, he looked to his right, at the corner of the room was a bin just for his pen covers, he turned his attention back to his work. He had been creating the outline for a new novel for the past two hours, world building wasn't an easy feat, and neither did others really understand just how creative the mind had to be to spawn an idea into words, mixing each word together into a masterpiece. Godfrey was an Author, a successful one at that, feeling a bit distracted he looked towards the shelf where he had all the books he had ever written over the past fifteen years, he was now a New York Times best-seller, of course, he lived in New York, that was the entire point. An idea popped in and he penned it down on a piece of paper before the thought escaped his mind, never to be found again, that was the thing with thoughts, they never stayed for long, just like his relationships, another thought he hated and wished would stop bothering him. Dating Godfrey was a punishment to any woman that ever walked the Earth, he was well aware of this as well, he just didn't know how much of a mess he was, and neither did he care much, he thought once he had the money, he would get all the girls but his life had been a sad reminder of that thought. He suddenly felt restless, and distracted, he chewed more and more on his own cap till it dented itself, he threw it away into his pen cap bin and then looked at the work he had written, it was a fantasy novel outline, yet he sought something more fundamental, he didn't know what it was but he was sure that if he saw it, he would immediately know. He wasn't having writer's block or else he'd be pulling out strands of his hair by now, not a bright idea he thought as his hand reached to the back of his head, the hairs there were scanty, and he decided he would take some time out to get some hair products or better still, he would ask Annie to do it. Annie was a very important woman to him, he wasn't sure he could live on without her, and neither was he sure he would have made it this far if not for her constant pestering in his life, Annie was his personal assistant, she helped in almost everything that had to do with Godfrey. Some even mistook them as married but just that they weren't, even though they both went to the same college and had been best friends since then, Godfrey felt it was just a mutual friendship, people tended to jump to conclusions on such matters. Although in truth, Godfrey was just a grown nerd with interests in comics and anime, books, and the like, he knew absolutely nothing about women. He pulled out his phone and dialed Annie, the phone rang for less than two seconds before she picked up, Annie was always like that, he couldn't remember the last time he called her and she didn't pick up, even if she didn't, she'd call back almost instantly. "Morning Godfrey, what's up?" Annie's gentle voice sounded through the phone. "Uuhhm, why do you sound so... Sensual, it's six in the morning Annie, get over yourself" Godfrey chided her, he enjoyed doing that although for some reason it seemed to annoy her but he never thought much of it. "You're such an i***t, Godfrey," Annie said with resignation, as though she was tired of him, but also tired of being tired of him, she had come to accept him for the fool he was. "I know, I know" Godfrey laughed a bit as he stood up and stretched his back, he needed a better writing chair, something he would have to tell Annie. "I need your help, Annie," Godfrey said trying to sound meek and subtle, that's how he got her to do things for him, it worked most of the time, just not every time. "You got stuck writing something again, right?" She asked as though it were that obvious, Godfrey stuttered not wanting to admit but then again he would let it slide, just this once. "Just a bit stuck but more importantly, I need some hair products and a new writing chair, my back is killing me" he paused for a moment while in thought, "Add a massage from you to that list," he said grinning. "Why do I even bother with you?" Annie sighed knowing Godfrey wasn't going to let her rest until he got what he wanted, "I'll be over in an hour, don't leave the house messed up again Godfrey I beg of you" She sounded exasperated over the phone before cutting the call. Feeling quite accomplished, Godfrey left his study and walked into his main house, it was a self-owned apartment that was seated amongst the high-rise buildings in New York, he bought the house for about three hundred and fifty thousand dollars, it was expensive but it was better than paying rent in the long run. He walked to the kitchen and opened the fridge, sitting there was a pie Annie had made for him the day before, he managed to eat just half before forgetting to eat and now he was going to feast on the other half. To his surprise, Godfrey hadn't realized he was naked, but then again, what was better than being lazy and eating microwaved delicious apple pie while naked and watching Berserk? While he ate, he knew he needed some new ideas, something to add to his book, he hadn't figured it out yet but he remembered he had a stash of forgotten papers with numerous ideas written down, maybe he would go through all that and read through them, and figure out something, but now, he turned his attention back to the TV, his favorite scene in Berserk was coming, where Griffith becomes a demon.
