Autism = A neurodevelopmental disorder (neurological developmental disorder), which means that certain parts of the brain don’t grow the same way or at the same speed as most people’s brain does. For autistic people, this means they often have poor social skills, a need for structure in their lives and they can easily get overwhelmed by sensory experiences. Autism is not something people tend to ‘grow out of’ but many do learn how to manage the things they struggle with.
Luckily, the weather is great today, because after what happened with Mya this morning, I’m not ready to go to class yet.
