Awkward Silence

“Hey, Serenity are you all done eating?” Trenton said waving his hand in front of my face. I must have dazed off for a moment. “Yeah, sorry.” I said as I tried to bring my attention back. Trenton looked worried for a moment and started to say, “well is there something..” when Kyle interjected.

“Hey, are we going to get gaming or what?” I turned around and looked at him.

I smile and say, “let’s do teams.”

Chloe agrees and shouts, “let’s do boys versus girls!”

Trenton laughs and says, “alright then, we should make this interesting.”

Chloe says, “what do you purpose?” With her hands on her hips and a curious look on her face. She has quite an athletic build with wavy long blond hair. She’s well known for being quite competitive.

Trenton looks at her with a huge grin on his face and says, “well, the first three rounds will be boys vs girls and who ever wins that will pick the prize and next activity. Then the top girl and boy with the best stats will have 15 minutes of alone time in my bedroom.” I felt my face turn as red as a tomato. Trenton continues and says, “are you guys in?” I shake my head yes and I can see Kyle in the corner of my eye agree as well. Chloe engages in nervous laughter but also agrees.

“Let’s get this going then,” Kyle says. We all head over to the couch to grab the controllers. Sadly I was too slow and ended up sitting on the end next to Chloe. Luckily, I have a history of playing video games so I knew I would beat Chloe. I do remember Trenton can hold his own but I know Kyle would typically be the best at any game he played. So hopefully, this will play out as well as I predict because I really don’t want to be alone with Trenton. He will certainly make a move on me because last time I experienced this day he tried to kiss me.

Chloe and I lost the very first round badly but I still had better stats then her so I was okay with it. She decided to take matters into her hands during the second round getting in front of Trenton and Kyle while they played. It worked greatly because I was able to sneak easy kills and we ended up winning the round barely. For the final round, Chloe still tried to get in the way but Trenton returned the same favors. This discouraged Chloe and she stopped. Only one kill away from the round being over. My anxiety builds and I make a silly mistake. Trenton takes advantage of the free kill and ends the game. He is super excited and jumps up doing a muscle flex while shouting. Chloe rolls her eyes and says, “you’re just lucky.”

Kyle smiles and says, “how about we look at the stats shall we?” Trenton quickly sits and looks intensely at the screen. Oh thank goodness, I was correct Kyle and I had the best stats. Chloe giggles and points out the stats. I know I’m super embarrassed and Kyle speaks up.

“Well, it appears Serenity and I will be spending 15 minutes alone.” Chloe appears a little bummed but is still a supportive friend. Trenton stares at Kyle in the eyes like he is begging to switch places with him. Kyle shakes it off and says, “are you ready Serenity?”

“I need to use the restroom first and then I’m ready.” I say with my checks on fire from the attention. Quickly I go to the restroom and run water in the sink. The sound of running water is very calming and my nerves are getting the best of me. I’m not sure what is wrong with me because this is what I wanted to happen. I’m unsure if he will make a move or not knowing his friend will be listening nearby. I collect myself and complete an appearance check before heading back out.

“He’s waiting for you in the bedroom,” Chloe says. She puts her thumb up and gives a distinct wink. I engage in a face palm to cover up my blushing face. I turn around to head to the bedroom. I can hear Chloe switching her focus on Trenton and encouraging him to teach her how to play better.

Finally, I approach the bedroom and see Kyle sitting on the bed staring at me while I enter. I turn around to close the door slowly but carefully to make sure it closes all the way. Once the door is completely shut and secured I feel his hands grab my hips. Pulling me close and starting to explore my body. I try to be as quiet as possible. I lean my head back exposing my neck. He sees this and takes a fairly intense bite of the curvature of my neck. I wanted to squeal but held it in. His right hand finally arrived under my shirt where he began to squeeze my breast matching the intensity of his kissing. His left hand decided to explore inside the front of my pants but still remained outside of my undies. Where he started to rub with varying degrees of intensity. He could certainly feel my undies getting wet because it made him go even harder. Dang, he is good and nearly irresistible. I just want to take my clothes off and hop on top of him. After a few minutes he removes his hands out from under my clothes. He turns me around and kisses me passionately for a moment.

He pulls away slowly trying to regain control over himself. Of course, I don’t want it to end so I push back. Kissing him with a hunger for more. He gently caresses my face and pulls away slowly. He then whispers, “you need to calm down, kitten.” Oh snap, my first pet name. Of course this leads me to blush and stop immediately. I shake my head in agreement and recollect myself.

He distances himself across the room and points to his phone. I get his hint and find a spot that is across from him in the room.

“Hey, kitten.” Appears on my phone from Kyle. Another message appears and it says, “I’m sorry but we have to stop before I go any further.”

I reply, “oh?” Well of course I know what he means but I’m curious to see if I can get him to say it. I try not to look at him while he types a reply to me.

“You know what I mean, taking you as mine of course.” Kyle added a winking face at the end of the message. I hear Chloe in the other room announcing she is going to come and check on us. Loud enough to definitely provide enough warning she is coming. She begins to open the door swiftly hoping to catch us up to something for her own amusement. To her dismay we were sitting on opposite sides of the bedroom. The bedroom is fairly dim with a red and black theme to it so she nearly squints to see us.

“Aww, really? Where you guys just sitting in awkward silence the whole time?” Chloe says in a disappointing tone. I do motion towards my phone to play on the concept nothing happened.

“Well, I did play on my phone and that was nice.” I say trying to hold back a blush because there was a lot more that happened but I didn’t want her to know that.

Kyle speaks up and says, “yeah, it was nice to have some piece and quiet for a moment. I just wish it was a tad bit longer and I could have gotten more thinking done.” He flashes a smirk to me when Chloe turns around to head back out to the living room.

As we arrive to the living room we can see Trenton playing video games with a frown on his face. When he sees me he tries to quickly turn the frown upside down. He speaks up and announces he has an idea for the next activity we do together. He stands up real proud to announce his well thought out plan. “I think we should hang out at the public pool and chill downtown tomorrow.” He says with his proud grin on his face. Kyle steps close to him and whispers something but I can’t quite catch it. I can hear Trenton reply in a whisper saying, “you’re telling me you wouldn’t want to see them in a bathing suit?”

Kyle replies, “fair enough, okay I’m in.” I can only guess that he protested against it because he doesn’t like to swim. He isn’t the best at it but doesn’t sink like a rock so he should be fine. Chloe ponders for a moment.

She says, “well, I game but I won’t be able to join right away until I finish my chores.” I think for a moment, trying to remember if I have anything going on the next day. Unless there is a sports tournament I don’t often have anything I have to do.

I speak up and say, “I should be okay to come all day but let me double check with my mom.” I send her a text message just to make sure. Trenton smiles with excitement but tries to contain himself.

“Cool, just keep us posted,” he says. I glance again at the time on my phone and announce I need to head home, especially if I want to increase the odds of my mom saying yes for tomorrow. Chloe agreed indicating she may be able to get a head start on her chores. She lives on a small farm with her mom. I’m not sure where her dad is but I know her parents are not together anymore.

We both say our goodbyes to the boys and begin to head out. I stop for a moment and say to Kyle, “it was nice meeting and hanging out with you today.” He smiles and returns the sentiment. Trenton of course jumps in and walks me to my car. I move quickly to prevent Trenton potentially making a move. I pull out of the driveway and begin to head home. I will have to text Kyle when I get home because I like the way he makes me feel. It’s a little fun being a teenager again but I do feel a sense of anxiety more than usual.

As I drive it makes me wonder, when I go to bed tonight will I wake up ten years in the future or will I still remain ten years in the past?
