Chapter 9The next day when Adrian woke, Lorcan was still there. Whether he’d been all night or left to get some sleep and then came back, Adrian didn’t know. “Morning.” Lorcan studied him for several seconds. “Morning. How are you feeling?” Adrian did a quick internal check. “Much better, thank you.” He stretched and breathed in deep. “You know what? I think I’d like some breakfast.” He got out of bed and walked toward the kitchen. Dizziness rolled over him, but it was probably the lack of coffee doing it. He opened the pantry and sighed. There was nothing edible apart from cereal. He didn’t want cereal; he wanted bread and a cup of coffee. “What’s wrong?” Lorcan was hovering. “I have no bread.” Adrian pushed past Lorcan to get to the coffee maker. “I can run down to the corner shop.
