Frank
" Good Morning "
" Morning "
" Good Morning "
"Morning "
" Good morning "
" Morning "
A bunch of kids scurried by Frank continuously with happy expressions plastered on their faces. As soon as they got closer to him, words of greetings would immediately be spilled from their mouths.
Frank replied all of their greetings calmly even though his head was currently in a state of chaos.
' Should I go? ' He thought inwardly. A few days ago, his brother had invited him to come join him in the city.
Normally, news like this is supposed to have being a good cause for celebration, but there existed a tiny problem. Frank couldn't tell why, but there was this feeling within him, restricting him from accepting the golden hand offered to him. This feeling was fear.
His brother had gone to the city a few years ago and surprisingly made a fortune out of the few notes he went with. He had only gone with a small sum of money that usually shouldn't be considered as much in a place like the city, but somehow he managed to acquire a fortune.
Though Frank claimed to not know the reason for his fear, he already had a deduction on the cause. Once upon a time, he and his brother attended the same school, and he ended up being overshadowed by his brother's success in the school and ended up becoming the school's acknowledged black sheep. Having fame that could be ranked among the top five of famous students, mind you, this was a school of over a million student number counting.
He was one who was once believed to be the golden seed between him and his brother, but somehow he ended up becoming the black sheep at that moment. Before he joined Josh at school, he always had good grades and was actually known as one of the best at mathematics, but somehow he ended up failing everything in that school. Though this occurrence lasted for only one session, which is approximately one year, it seemed to have left a shadow in his heart.
His identity being the school black sheep and scape goat, while his brother, Josh, on the other hand, was the school number one prince charming, also acknowledged by all. Though not intellectually sound, his words carried a lot of weight in school. They were like ice and fire, two brothers in completely different worlds.
Josh was one who always had both girls and boys flocking around him like beetles to a tree, why he was like a plague avoided by all. Those moments of his life were the worst moments he had ever experienced.
He didn't really envy nor feel jealousy for Josh. On the contrary, he felt nothing but love for his brother. Alas, this love was nowhere near enough to prevent a weird relationship from being developed between him and his brother.
And then, a few years later, they had grown up and now, Josh was doing so well for himself while he was here still stuck in the village. He of course felt off, though this feeling was nothing like jealousy.
It was more of fear, lack of courage to fail. The fear of failure is what held him back. His parents had continuously urged him to comply with his brother's request and leave for the city, but he refused arrantly. They had even started to believe their earlier suspicions that he truly was jealous of his brother.
Due to their suspicions, a feeling of anger developed within them towards Frank. This feeling of anger has in these few days turned into maltreatment as they seem more than willing to unleash hell on Frank if he let this opportunity pass by.
Even though he suffered maltreatment, Frank felt no sort of animosity towards his parents as he knew that their actions were merely due to the love and care they harbored towards him. They were unwilling to see him lay waste to this opportunity as even though he could still be considered young, opportunity came but once. Such opportunities, especially in recent days, weren't ones that could be came across on regular bases.
They had made him skip meals on regular bases as a form of threat of what was to come if he truly let this opportunity slip by. Even though their threat meant nothing to Frank as he currently had more than a single means of earning money for his meals per day. But that was just it, money for his meals. He was completely unable to afford any other utility he required.
" Sigh... " A sigh escaped his lips as he slowly stood up and walked away. He had finally made a decision after his long time of contemplation.
