THE BLOOD CEREMONY

(Season 1) CHAPTER 13 RAHOVNIC CASTLE Perched on a jagged peak that tore through the clouds, the castle never saw true daylight. Only twilight. Always twilight. The wind howled through twisted iron gates, making them scream and creak like old bones. Beyond them: a maze of black stone halls, crypts that hadn’t been opened in centuries, and moonlit courtyards where shadows moved even when nothing was there. The air was thick. Heavy. Like the castle itself was breathing. Tonight, the *Blood Ceremony* had begun. A small figure slipped through the darkness beneath the castle, bare feet silent on cold stone. Her heart was pounding, but her eyes were sharp. She needed power. Real power. And there was only one being who could give it to her. The hall opened into a vast crypt. Dozens of vampires stood in a circle, pale faces tilted up, veins dark beneath translucent skin. At the center, the *Crypt Door* groaned open. Out of the dark she came. *Queen Arokat. The Veiled Queen.* The *Silent Herald* walked ahead of her, holding a crimson chalice that seemed to drink the torchlight. The air went still. “*Rahovnic hungers...*” The Queen’s whisper cut through the silence like a blade. The figure stepped forward. No fear. No turning back. The Queen raised the chalice high. Shadows from the corners of the room crawled toward it, pooling like smoke. Arokat gestured. A captive was dragged forward. One clean slice across the wrist. Crimson spilled, thick and slow, into the cup. One by one, the nobles stepped forward. They drank. And with each sip, the air _thronged_. Magic stirred. Ancient. Dark. Hungry. Then the Queen turned to her. The veil fell. Eyes like collapsing stars. Skin like alabaster that swallowed light. Lips stained the color of fresh blood. “*You see me...*” her voice was midnight silk, “*now you belong to Rahovnic.*” A slow, sharp smile. Fangs gleamed. “*What do you offer for a taste of Rahovnic’s power?*” The cold of the grave brushed the girl’s cheek as the Queen leaned in. “*Eternal life. Power beyond kings. All of it... in exchange for the blood that flows through you.*” The girl flinched. The Queen chuckled, low and amused. “*Don’t look so shocked. I won’t kill you. Not while you stay loyal.*” The girl lifted her chin. No hesitation. “*I offer you my blood, my Queen.*” Arokat’s cold fingers brushed her forehead. “*Welcome to eternity. Rahovnic’s shadows claim you. Now... you are part of the night.*” 💀 “*Thank you,*” the girl whispered. It had been easier than she thought. The Queen’s smile faded. “*All you have to do now is find the Three Stones of the Universe. Infinity. Life. Death.*” The girl’s smile dropped. “*But... that’s not possible. They were destroyed centuries ago.*” The Queen threw her head back and laughed. The sound echoed off the crypt walls. She drifted back toward her obsidian throne. “*The stones exist,*” she purred. “*Guarded by three. One to the East. One to the West. And North and South, together, protect the last.*” Her eyes glittered. “*Bring them to me. I will be waiting.*” And then she dissolved into black mist. The vampires followed, vanishing into shadow until only the girl remained. She stood alone in the crypt, fists clenched. Confused. Angry. But not afraid. If that was the price, she would pay it. Whatever it took. ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨ Morning light filtered through the tall windows, too bright for how heavy the room felt. The three brothers sat around the table watching *Liora* pick at her breakfast. She’d slept for almost 18 hours after the party. It terrified them. But when she woke, she looked... normal. No shaking. No panic. Like the night before had never happened. Which only made it worse. Liora finally glanced up, caught all three of them staring. “*Did... I get something on my face?*” she asked, blinking like a confused cat. Zach set his coffee down. “*Are you okay?*” She frowned. “*Yeah? Did something happen?*” Ryan forced a smile. “*Nothing. We were just worried. You slept forever.*” Liora didn’t buy it. Her eyes narrowed. Zach leaned back, watching her carefully. “*We also need to tell you something. We’re leaving.*” “*For four days,*” Kai added quickly. Liora’s spoon clattered against the bowl. “*Four days? All three of you?*” “*Pumpkin,*” Ryan said softly, “*it’s important. If it wasn’t, we wouldn’t go.*” “*But why all of you?*” Her voice got smaller. Her eyes started to shine. “*What if you don’t come back?*” Kai reached across the table and squeezed her hand. “*We will. I promise. I’m already gonna miss teasing you too much.*” He tried to grin. It didn’t reach his eyes. “*Lucas will stay here with you,*” Zach said. “*And if you need anything... you can call Kalen.*” Liora’s face fell. “*Kalen?*” she whispered. “*Why can’t he go instead of you, Kai?*” The thought of being alone with him made her stomach twist. Ryan chuckled to ease the tension. “*Don’t worry. He doesn’t bite.*” Liora pouted, but nodded. She had no choice. “*When are you leaving?*” “*After breakfast,*” Zach said. “*We were supposed to be there hours ago.*” Liora sighed. She couldn’t chain them to the house. If it was necessary, then it was necessary. But the house was going to feel very, very empty without them. Kai stood first. “*Come on. Let’s walk you to your room. Pack some snacks. You’re gonna need them to survive 4 days without us.*” As they walked out, none of them said what they were all thinking: _Something happened in Tenebrous. TBC
