(Season 1)
CHAPTER 49
Liora had been quiet. Too quiet after the argument....... She spent most of her time in her room. She hardly join the others in the dining. Kai did not like her reserved mood, so decided to talk to her...... At least make her smile.Kai knocked on Liora's door, hesitant at first.
"Hey, Li, can I come in?" he asked softly. The door creaked open, and Liora's tired eyes met his.
"What's up?" she said, trying to sound casual. Kai walked in and sat beside her on the bed.
"Just checking on you. You've been quiet lately," he said gently. Liora shrugged, but Kai's caring gaze made her crack a tiny smile. Kai smiled back, relieved she'd smiled.
"Want to talk about it?" he asked, nudging her gently. Liora hesitated, then let it all spill out – the argument, her feelings, everything. Kai listened, his expression understanding. As she talked, Liora's tension eased. Maybe, just maybe, things wouldn't feel so tough alone.... Everything was just too much for her to handle alone.
"you know Kalen never do anything with out a reason, I'm sure he just wants what is best for you" she sigh and nodded
"I guessed you are right. I overreacted"Kai nodded in agreement,
"No, you didn't overreact, Li. You felt something, and it's valid. Kalen could've handled it better, though." He paused, "Want me to talk to him?" Liora's eyes widened slightly, then she shook her head.
"No, I'll handle it." Kai smiled.
"Alright, but I'm here if you need backup." she want to handle this with Kalen alone, plus she still have no idea how to face Leon. It was still hard to come to the term that Ruben was not her father, but some one else. A total stranger she knew nothing about, but just a name. LEON
" Are you okay?" she asked after a while..... He was suddenly quiet like he was thinking of something. He snapped out of his thoughts and gave her a small smile.... She know that smile. That was a fake smile.
"I'm fine" he answered but she wasn't buying it. She remembered what happened between him and Lucas.. Maybe that was what he was thinking about.
"Did you talk to Lucas yet?" she asked
Liora's intuition was on point. Kai's expression shifted, a flicker of pain crossing his face before he masked it again.Kai's eyes dropped, and his voice barely came out.
"He doesn't want to see me. I guess he will never forgive me." The words hung heavy, and Liora's heart went out to him. She pulled him into a gentle hug.
Liora's words were gentle but honest, "What you did was wrong... You cheated on him. But I'm sure he would come around." Kai flaced, the weight of his actions settling in. He pulled back slightly, his eyes searching Liora's face.
"Do you think so?" he asked, vulnerability etched in his voice. Liora held his gaze, her expression sincere.
"Yeah, I do. Lucas loves you, Kai. He'll need time, but... he'll forgive you." She paused, "You need to forgive yourself first, though." Kai looked away, the truth hitting home. He took a deep breath, feeling a tiny crack in his guilt. Liora nudged him gently.
"Talk to him, Kai. Clear the air. Even if it's hard." Kai nodded slowly, a plan forming in his mind.
"I'll try," he said, his voice a bit firmer. Liora smiled softly. The room fell quiet for a moment, the only sound the soft hum of the ceiling fan. Then, Kai pushed himself up from the bed, determination etched on his face.
"I'm gonna go see him," he said, his voice resolute. Liora nodded, a small smile on her lips.
"Good luck, Kai."He nodded and walked away. Determined to get Lucas back by all means..... He was not going to let him walk away from him just like the last time. This time he has to listen to him.

Kai's heart pounded as he stepped into Lucas's room, the familiar scent of his colone filling the air. He moved quietly, his eyes scanning the space. The sound of the shower running was like a beacon, drawing him closer. Kai's mind flashed back to the last time they were together, the argument, the hurt... He pushed the thoughts aside, focusing on the present.
He approached the bathroom door, his hand hesitating on the handle. Lucas was tough, always on guard, but Kai knew the vulnerable side he hid behind that rough exterior. Taking a deep breath, he pushed the door open, the steam enveloping him.
Lucas's silhouette was visible through the glass shower enclosure, his back to Kai. For a moment, Kai just stood there, taking in the sight of him. Then, he stepped forward, his voice low.
"Lucas..."Lucas's body tensed at the sound of Kai's voice, his hand pausing mid-movement as he washed his face. He didn't turn around, didn't respond. The silence stretched, the only sound the water pattering against the tiles. Kai's eyes roamed over Lucas's back, the tension in his shoulders evident.
"I know you're mad," Kai said, his voice gentle, "but can we talk?" Lucas still didn't move, didn't speak. Kai sighed, stepping closer. "Please, Lucas." The words hung in the air, and for a moment, it seemed like Lucas wouldn't respond. Then, slowly, he turned off the shower, the sudden silence deafening. Water dripped off his skin, his eyes fixed on the wall ahead as he waited for Kai to speak.
Lucas's gaze slowly shifted to Kai, his expression unreadable. He reached for a towel, his movements economical, and wrapped it around his waist. The air was thick with unspoken words, and Kai felt his heart pounding in his chest. Lucas's eyes finally locked onto Kai's, the intensity making him take a step back.Lucas's gaze narrowed, his voice low and even.
"You shouldn't be here, Kai. What if someone sees us?" He took a step forward, his eyes flashing with a mix of anger and vulnerability. "You know what they'd do to us if they find out."Kai's eyes locked onto Lucas's, the unspoken fear hanging between them.
"No one's here," he repeated, his voice softer, "and I'm not leaving till we talk." Lucas's jaw clenched, but he didn't push Kai away. Instead, he turned and walked back into the bathroom, grabbing another towel to dry his hair. The message was clear: Kai could stay, but Lucas wasn't making it easy.
Lucas's expression softened, his voice taking on a gentle tone, despite the anger simmering beneath.
"Kai..." he said, his eyes searching, "why are you here?" The words were a whisper, a mix of hurt and longing. Kai's heart ached, seeing the pain he caused.
"I wanted to apologize," Kai said, his voice low, sincere. Lucas looked away, his jaw clenched, controlling his emotions.
"Okay," he said finally, his voice even. "Apologize."Kai took a step closer, his eyes locked on Lucas's profile.
"I'm sorry, Lucas," he said, his voice filled with regret. "For hurting you, for putting us at risk... for everything." Lucas's gaze slowly turned back to Kai's, his eyes searching for something. The air was thick with unspoken words, and Kai could see the struggle in Lucas's expression. Lucas's voice was barely above a whisper when he spoke.
"You should be." The words were a gentle reprimand, but Kai knew Lucas was holding back. "Is that all?" Lucas asked, his tone soft, expectant. Kai's eyes held Lucas's, a silent understanding passing between them.
"No," Kai said, his voice low, sincere. "I want to make it right, Lucas. I want us to be okay." Lucas's expression didn't change, but his eyes softened, a hint of vulnerability creeping in.
"What makes you think we can be?" he asked, his voice barely above a whisper. The question hung in the air, and Kai knew he had to be honest.
"I don't know I just want us to be, Lucas. I hate the fact that you keep avoiding me..... I don't like it one bit"Lucas's eyes searched Kai's face, his expression a mix of surprise and a hint of warmth. He took a step closer, his voice low and gentle.
"You don't like it, huh?" he said, a small smile playing on his lips. The tension between them began to dissipate, replaced by the familiar comfort of their relationship.
